A constant ringing thumped against her ear drum as she looked around the familiar surroundings. She knew that wooden floor, that box shaped television, the couch, the scattered toys in one corner.
Fiona was standing in the middle of a living room as she looked around to gather where she was exactly. The pictures on the wall were blank and completely white. She looked up at the clock hanging on the wall and it had only the second arm which was stuck at twelve.
"Fifi!"
That was the name Fiona hadn't heard for years. She was startled as she turned to see the woman standing near-by the entrance of the room.
"Mommy has to go now." She said as she looked through Fiona.
"No!" Fiona heard a little girls' voice from upstairs as she heard the little steps rushing down.
Tears flooded her eyes as she saw her four year old self coming down the stairs. She looked down at the little baby girl who passed right through her towards her mother.
Fiona realized what day it was as she saw herself running into her mother's arms.
"You can't leave me." The girl cried.
"Aww, sweetie, it's just for a few hours and you have Jason with you."
"I don't… want to be alone with Jason." The girl complained in a low voice.
"Why?" Her mother smiled at her as she placed her on the floor. "He loves you so much."
Fiona felt her heart sink as she saw everything happening in front of her. She was remembering things once again and it made her want to just stop them from flooding her brain.
"No… He-" The girl hesitated.
Her mother's expression fell a little as she held her face softly. Concern was embedded in her frown as she looked at her daughter's innocent face.
"What is it, Fifi? You know you can tell mommy anything." She said and the girl looked down at her fingers.
"I can't tell you. Jason will get mad at me." The girl mumbled without making eye contact with her mother.
That actually turned on wailing alarms in her mother's brain as she stared at her daughter for a moment. She was going to ask her something when she was interrupted by a bulky male voice.
Fiona shivered to her core when she heard the voice.
"You haven't left yet?" The voice said.
Fiona didn't dare to turn and look at the man instead she tried to see him through the corner of her eyes. All she saw was a figure. She didn't have the courage to look at his face.
Her mother was a little alarmed but tried to keep calm. "I was just leaving." She said, looking at him forcing a smile. "I'm taking Fiona with me."
The little girl's face lit up and relief washed her whole existence.
"Why?" He asked and from his tone it felt like he had a feeling she knew something.
"Fifi, go upstairs and bring your coloring bag." She patted on her shoulder as the girl nodded and rushed upstairs.
"Melissa's been missing her so much. She asks me to bring her to work everyday so I thought why not take her with me today. I can work and she can play with Melissa." She said trying to stay casual and calm.
"Oh, good, I'm gonna go meet up with the guys then."
"Okay." She smiled at him and nodded.
Fiona rushed back to her mother with a yellow backpack hanging on her shoulders. Her mother quickly picked her up and kissed her cheek.
From where Fiona was watching she could see her mother's hands trembling in fear as she firmly held her daughter.
"So I'll see you guys tonight?" Jason asked as he walked towards them.
"Yeah." Her mother said, forcing a little smile as he kissed her on the cheek and then kissed Fiona on the forehead.
Her mother seemed hesitant but bore with it as she wasn't sure what Fiona wanted to tell her. But whatever it was, she knew it wasn't right and she had to take Fiona with her out of the house.
She quickly turned and walked out of the house holding her daughter. Fiona followed behind them as an instinct. Although she was realising it was a dream or maybe an illusion, she still felt frightened at the thought of being alone in that house with Jason's presence there.
As Fiona stepped outside she entered a church. Everyone was sitting in black clothes, some were wailing while others just sat in silence. Her eyes shot forward to the casket and beside it a framed image of her mother.
"What happened?" A woman whispered to another one.
"I've heard her daughter ran away from the house after she shouted at her." The second woman whispered back. "Her daughter apparently wasn't very accepting of her step father and she was falsely accusing him of abusing her." Their eyes darted at the little girl sniffling sitting next to a man.
"Such a spoiled child." The first one whispered.
Fiona felt her heart breaking as she heard their conversation and even though she covered her ears she could still hear them talk.
"She ran by that lake near their house and jumped in the lake. Her mother saved her and in that attempt she drowned herself."
"Oh poor thing."
Fiona walked away from them and towards her younger self as she sniffled, wiping her cheeks.
She felt comfort embedding in herself as she felt a presence beside her she turned her head to see who it was but the person passed by her in a blink as she couldn't see his face but she knew who it was, Lucifer.
This was where she had first met Lucifer, at the funeral of her mother Lucifer made himself known to her for the first time. She remembered how much comfort she felt with him nearby.
The man went on and looked down at Jason for a moment as his eyes glowed crimson. Jason scooted away from her younger self and made space for Lucifer. He sat beside a very rattled Fiona. He reached out in his pocket and took out a butterscotch candy as he held it towards her.
She sniffled again as she accepted it from him. Normally, she wouldn't do that but Fiona's guess here was Lucifer's temptation made her feel calm. As her younger self leaned her head against his arm and he patted her head softly.
"It's going to be alright now, angel." His words were careful and calming.
"Who are you?" She asked in her low shrill baby voice.
"Your guardian devil." Fiona whispered as tears made its way down her cheek.
Lucifer smiled and looked down at the little child leaned against his arm and repeated the words.
"Remember my name, Angel." He said as he touched the child's neck pinching it softly. She winced in pain but said nothing. "Lucifer. Can you remember it?" He asked and she nodded. "Can you say it for me now?"
"Lucifer." The child replied and he smiled at her and patted her head carefully.
"Good girl." He said standing up as he waved his hand in front of her eyes. She blinked once and now she looked at Lucifer as if she was looking right through him. As though he didn't exist.
Lucifer walked past Fiona and left the hall through the door. She didn't know why but she felt an urge to follow and so she did as she traced her steps into his. Following him outside the church.
But instead of stepping out of the church she was outside her childhood room. The one she had when she lived with her mother. The door was slightly open and it was dark inside. Stiffened cries were being heard from the room as the child kept saying 'no' to someone.
Fiona pushed the door softly as she peeked inside. The street light from the window lit the room dimly. She saw her younger self in the corner as she cried and urged the monster in front of her to nor step towards her, wanting to force himself onto the poor child.
Fiona felt nauseous as she remembered that night. She was scared out of her wits and couldn't stop crying because Jason kept insisting on 'playing' with her.
"Lucifer!" The child cried out loud as Jason looked at her in confusion.
A whisper reached her ears. The same familiar comforting voice.
"Close your eyes." The voice said and the child followed.
Fiona, who was standing by the door, did the same thing. She closed her eyes, clenching her hands into fists, digging her nails in the skin of her palms as it pierced her skin.
A low grunt was heard as she shivered and then heard the same voice.
"Open them." The voice said as her lids pulled up softly revealing her honey-like eyes.
Jason wasn't in the room anymore. She saw Lucifer sitting in front of the child.
"Come here, angel." He said as she rushed forward and wrapped her arms around his neck hugging him firmly as she sobbed on his shoulder.
Lucifer held her carefully. "It's okay now." He comforted her but she kept on sobbing.
After a few moments he pulled away and looked at her, wiping her tears using his hand. He held her face softly as his red eyes beamed right into her honey ones. The light from the window highlighted his sharp features as he looked at the child.
"You'll forget me and everything that Jason did. Your life is going to get even harder, Angel. Everyone knows of your existence now." He touched the mark of her neck as it disappeared. "They'll be coming after you and I'll be there to protect you but I need you to promise me something…" He said, holding his hand towards her.
The little girl looked up at him and then at his hand as her small hand reached out and she placed it in his.
"You have to promise me, if things go wrong doesn't matter how wrong you won't lose hope-"
Fiona chuckled as more tears fell down her cheeks.
"Even if you're going through hell, don't stop, keep going." She whispered along with Lucifer as she remembered the words.
She realized now why every time she fell in the pits of depression she was able to swim back up. Everytime things became unbearable for her and she wanted to just give up. Those words would always ring in her mind. She never knew where she heard them but she still remembered them.
She took one step back as she felt a piercing pain in her back. She felt someone had pushed something sharp right into her as she yelped in pain.
"Those are some pleasant memories." She heard the female voice say as the person closed in on her ear and pushed the sharp object further into her.
The piercing pain had her gasp open her eyes as she found herself lying on a metal ground. She sat up as she looked up and saw beautifully designed thin silvers bars meeting each other as a dome on the top. It didn't take her time to realize she was in a silver floral designed cage and it also didn't take her much time to gather there was no piece of clothing on her body. On the realization she quickly pulled her legs closer to her body in failed attempts to cover herself.
"Oh, thank God. She's awake." She heard the familiar female voice and looked in its direction.
A pair of gray eyes met her from the other side of the bars. A cynical smile was sown on her tainted black lips as she looked down at Fiona.
"Asmodeus." Fiona said and her grin grew much longer.
"Oh, you remembered me." She smiled at her. "Well, now you're awake. We can have the show going." She remarked.
"What show?" Fiona's eyes grew wider in fear.
Asmodeus enjoyed the trembling fear in her. It gave her a sense of victory. She waved her hand up in the air as if giving someone a signal.
The white blank walls were pulled down automatically as it revealed a sort of amphitheatre which extended up to miles with a huge crowd cheering, screaming and howling. Fiona couldn't see the whole amphitheatre but she could tell it was a huge one. She hugged her legs much closer to herself trying to cover herself.
"Fiona." Asmodeus said her name softly as she looked at her.
Her gray eyes dilated as Fiona looked into them in awe.
"Thanks to Azrael, I have to give you a huge dose of lust. More than I usually give to people."
Fiona felt her body trembling as an overwhelming feeling filled her body.
She weakly opened her mouth to utter the words, "Lu-ci-"
"Uh-uh." Asmodeus said as Fiona felt someone's hand on her mouth from behind.
She couldn't see who it was but whoever or whatever was it, they surely were strong. Fiona was quickly lifted up as the person locked her wrists in their one hand. And forced tape on her mouth covering her lips. Fiona tried to struggle but due to Asmodeus' temptation she felt weak to her knees. Her hands were cuffed and the cuffs were then locked in a hook in the middle of the cage then her feet were tied together making her lose any control of her body.
All she could do now was struggle and she also didn't have the power to do so. Her eyes made contact with Asmodeus' and she smiled at her. As a few shadowy figures with manly builts surrounded the cage. Asmodeus stepped away from the cage giving them space as they elongated their hands and reached for Fiona. Fiona started to struggle and cry in complete helplessness as Asmodeus gave her a cynical smile and said;
"You're going to enjoy this."
