I can see the village up ahead.
Very soon we'll be entering combat again.
Magiya and Maria are talking about magic and science just a bit ahead of me, occasionally I'll pick up on some of their conversation. I'm walking in silence with Silen next to me.
Say, aside from when he had to talk during the adventurers examination, I've never heard him talk.
"Hey, Silen. How come you never talk, or take your armour off?"
I'm not really expecting a reply. I don't even know why I asked.
"Talking hurts."
I looked across at his large figure.
I can't tell if he was being literal or if he was joking. Either way if talking hurts I won't pursue.
"I see. Then I won't push any further. Afterall everyone has their scars."
I look down at my arms and legs where large scars are visible all across them from when I fought the demon. Maria still cries about being unable to fix them so that no scars were visible, but I don't mind.
Scars are a warriors pride. Why should I be ashamed of them?
"Hey, Silen. I'm not trying to sound like Magiya and I know it's not my place to say anything, but scars are what make us who we are. They're the proof of everything we've ever had to overcome, and everything that's happened to us. If you wear that armour to hide them, I think you're just trying to run from the past."
Silen just looks down at me without saying anything.
"Maybe you're right."
With those words we just continued on in silence until we reached the village.
"Alright, we need a plan. I vote Leon being the bait."
We're all sat together in an inn coming up with a plan..
"Why am I the bait? Silen has armour and you're stronger than me."
"Think about it, Leon. How's a vampire supposed to get it's teeth through Silen's armour and Magiya's only stronger than you because of his magic. Even with all his buffs he's still physically weaker than you."
"She's right, you're in a way better position for getting sneak attacked."
"Fine. I'll be the bait. But don't blame me when I can't do anything because I'm too busy being murdered by a vampire."
"Now that that's settled let's head outside to put our plan into action."
I step outside and begin to walk down the dirt roads.
It takes less than a minute for me to feel two pairs of eyes on me.
I grip my sword with my left hand and unsheathe it slightly with my thumb.
I can feel two people walking behind me. I can't sense magic, but I can sense their killing intent and smell the blood on their breath behind me.
I come to a stop. I have no doubt I can't beat them in a two on one fight, but my friends are close, with me and Magiya together we could possibly win.
I spin round and draw my blade, only to meet an insane amount of resistance as the vampire stopped my blade with a single finger.
"My, what have we here? A human who possesses this much power. How intriguing."
I leap backwards, I know this man's beyond my capabilities.
He looks familiar. Like a male version of Maria with hair reaching all the way down his back and fangs that won't stay in his mouth.
The other one seems less intimidating as he appears smaller and has a buzzcut. All in all, he seems to be about two times stronger than the demon I fought.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Alucard Sanguis. I believe something that belonged to me was in this area. Tell me boy, do you know of a girl, about your age, who goes by the name of Mary Sanguis."
No way, Alucard's here. This isn't good. But he said Mary Sanguis, wasn't that Maria's name on that poster.
"Father, leave him alone!"
Out of nowhere Maria called out.
Wait, did she call him father?
"Ah, my dearest daughter, it's so good to see you again. Now, will you put an end to your little phase and return home with me?"
A bead of sweat drips down Maria's face.
Magiya and Silen stand behind her clearly on edge.
"If I go back with you, will you leave my friends alone?"
"You have my word, though first we need to stop by the palace in Camelot, there's someone you need to meet."
"Maria, don't do it!"
I shouted after Maria as she began walking towards Alucard.
"Maria, you told me you wanted to see the world! Together with Leon you wanted to see everything this world has to offer!"
At this point tears are streaming down Maria's face.
I'm not watching this anymore.
I move in and draw my blade only to be swatted away like a fly.
"Don't take all night."
Alucard whispered to his subordinate.
Alucard embraced Maria and began gently floating in the air before flying away to the North.
