WRINGING HIS HANDS, Ashton stood in front of a rundown apartment building.
No cop in their right mind would be caught dead anywhere near this place, but Ashton knew the area well. The streets were littered with garbage. The air was thick and held an awful stench that made even the rats flee from it. Sweeping his eyes down the street he noticed how eerily silent everything was; no children playing or people casually walking their dogs, and even all the shops were closed.
