Agi stood at the entrance of the car while waiting for Luliyah to get into the car. When Luliyah got outside, the middle-aged man opened the car door for her.
"Madame, I was ordered by Sir to escort you." Agi said.
"Thank you. Just call me Luliyah." Luliyah replied as she entered the car and said goodbye to Mrs Binta. Agi heard what Luliyah was saying, but he was not used to being informal with his employers, so he just smiled and nodded his head.
Before seeing her father, Luliyah decided to visit her mother in the hospital first. She wanted to see the condition of her mother and she also wanted to be sure if her mother's hospital bills had really been paid by Kelvin.
...
She walked towards the ICU, a room she was very familiar with. She saw her mother still lying in coma. Luliyah could only see her from behind the transparent glass window. Her eyes turned red as she looked at her mother's pale face.
"Mom, you have to get up, okay? Don't leave me alone." She muttered softly, hoping that her mother could hear her plea. But, only silence greeted her pleas.
Luliyah remembered three years ago when she returned from campus. At that time, her status was still a new student. She felt very happy because she would become a chemical science student. It felt like her dream of becoming a perfumer like her mother was just one step away from happening.
However, when she returned home that fateful day, she found her mother lying unconscious.
Immense sorrow and regret immediately flooded her heart ...
If only she realized that her mother was not well ....
If only she had gotten home earlier that day...
She would have found her mother sooner and maybe rushed her to the hospital.
While recalling the memories of that day, A man wearing a doctor's robe walked up to her. The man then politely greeted Luliyah.
"Madame, I am the head of this hospital. We will put your mother's condition first and mobilize our best medical team. All treatment plans have been conveyed to Mister in details." The man said.
Luliyah blinked her eyes repeatedly, 'Head of the hospital?'
Her mother has been in this hospital for years, but Luliyah never saw the head of the hospital for once. This time, the head of the hospital approached her personally and spoke to her with great respect.
"Are you referring to Kelvin?" Luliyah asked to clarify.
"That's right." The head of the hospital replied.
The man didn't know Luliyah at all. He didn't even know that there was a woman who had been in coma, because the hospital was so big. However, he suddenly received information that the Williams Group has taken over the entire cost of treating this unknown patient. Of course, he had to step in as the Williams Group was involved in it. Williams Group was an important shareholder in this hospital.
As a man who was quite old himself, he certainly didn't really keep up with the latest news. However, he knew everything related to the Williams Group, including the news of the woman's affair with Kelvin.
The news had spread widely. Kelvin Williams and a mysterious woman caught in a hotel together. After that, another shocking news emerged. Kelvin Williams cancelled his engagement to the daughter of the Parker Family for the sake of the woman.
Of course, he should use this opportunity to build a good relationship with the woman Kelvin chose.
"Mrs Diana will be transferred to the VIP ward once her condition is stable." The head of the hospital said, trying to convince Luliyah.
"Thank you, Doctor. If my mother wakes up, please let me know." Luliyah said.
"Of course. We will definitely contact you." He replied.
Luliyah felt very grateful for Kelvin's help. Kelvin did not only pay for her mother's care, but also provided the best hospital care so that her mother could recover quickly. Not only did he use the money to solve problems, but he paid attention to Luliyah's mother.
'Isn't this too good to be true?' Luliyah felt all she was seeing was like a dream to her and wished to never wake up from the dream.
.......
Luliyah left the hospital feeling very happy and relieved. Kelvin not only kept his promise, but also gave her more than he promised. Luliyah was confident that one day she would return all of Kelvin's money and try to love him better.
Now, she needs to meet her father first before returning back home to thank Kelvin.
The cafe her father asked to meet was not too far from the hospital, so Luliyah decide to walk and informed Agi to wait in the hospital parking lot.
From the outside, she could see her father was waiting at one of the tables by the window.
She walked faster, hurrying to see her father.
"Father!" She called from afar, waving her hand. She was so excited to see her father.
The scream made her father turn his head. Instead of looking happy, the man frowned and looked annoyed as if he was embarrassed to see her behavior. Seeing her father's response, Luliyah immediately lowered her head with a little embarrassment.
She quickly sat in front of her father. A big smile bloomed on her lips. Her smile grew brighter when the waiter came to serve drinks. Her father ordered a drink for her.
But, her face looked disappointed when she saw the drink that was served in front of her. Her father ordered coffee for her. The man didn't know that Luliyah was allergic to coffee. Her whole body would itch and it will cause her ceased breath if she consumed it or it touches her body.
"Finally, you came. Dad has been waiting for a long time." Her father spoke
"Earlier I stopped by the hospital briefly to see mother's condition." Luliyah said softly. She wanted to remind her father that her mother was still in the hospital.
Hearing Luliyah's answer, Mr Martins felt a little awkward. He scratched his head and said, "Daddy will lend you some money if you need it."
Luliyah knew it was a mere lip service from her father. If she mentioned the amount of money she needed, her father will not be able to give her that much money.
"I need a lot of money to pay for mother's hospital bill. Can you assist me? Luliyah just asked without expecting her father to assist her.
"Dad doesn't have that much money." Mr Martins replied his daughter.
The joy in Luliyah's heart decreased as she kept on talking to her father; Mr Martins.
She really wanted to end all of this so she asked frankly, "Why did you ask to meet me suddenly?"
