Only Luliyah and Kelvin were in the elevator. It was because they were using Kelvin's private elevator. The elevator cannot be used by anyone. Only a few people had access to the elevator, which is Harris, His office assistant and Agi.
The atmosphere in the elevator was very awkward. Or rather, only Luliyah felt that way. Every now and then she would steal glances at Kelvin, hoping he would break the silence between them.
Unfortunately, Kelvin didn't say anything. He looked straight ahead while waiting for the elevator to arrive on his floor. Behind his sunglasses, he could see Luliyah who was constantly moving because she was restless. His lips curved slightly, forming a faint smile when he saw the movements of the woman beside him.
Today, Luliyah's black hair, which usually was loose, was tied into a single ponytail, making her look younger. Sometimes, her hands combed the loose strands of her hair, a sign that she was nervous. Her modest dress did not hide her graceful and delicate features. Her feet still looked long and slender even though they were only wrapped in sneakers. She didn't need to wear heels to look charming like other women. Her face was innocent without excessive makeup, but it made her aura radiate even more.
The elevator chimed, knocking Kelvin out of his reverie. He immediately walked out of the elevator, greeted by his assistant. The assistant looked very beautiful with her brown hair flowing. She wore a white blouse and a neat black skirt. Red heels adorned her feet, making her look even sexier.
However, in Kelvin's eyes, his assistant was nothing. Only Luliyah filled his mind at the moment.
Luliyah was flabbergasted when she saw Kelvin's assistant. Does being an assistant require a pretty appearance like this? This woman should be a model, not an assistant!
Seeing the beauty of Kelvin's assistant, Luliyah slightly lowered her head, feeling worried about her current appearance.
The assistant frowned when she saw Luliyah's arrival. She stared at Luliyah from head to toe, feeling strange with the presence of a woman looking like this in her boss's office. Plus, this woman was specially picked up by her boss. Although her dislike for Luliyah was clear, she remained polite and professional.
"Elise, postpone all the meetings," Kelvin said as he walked away. He didn't even look at her at all, even though the assistant continued to stare at her boss's face.
"Yes Sir." She answered politely, but disappointment could be heard in her voice. Then, she looked away, staring at Luliyah with a sharp gaze. Luliyah flinched a little when she saw that gaze, then she walked hurriedly to meet up with Kelvin. That gaze was like that of a woman who got jealous when her lover was with another woman.
Luliyah was stunned when she saw Kelvin's office. The room was so spacious. The black desk stood proudly, while various documents was placed on it. On the other side of the room was a large sofa that could even be used as a bed. Even when she was still living with her father, he never owned a sofa this big. Near the sofa, there was a door that was wide open, leading to a bedroom. Luliyah was surprised when she saw the room. What was a bedroom in the office for?
Unfortunately, the extraordinarily luxurious room did not get direct sunlight because the large window was covered with a curtain. Luliyah could imagine how beautiful the room would be if the sunlight shone on it. She could also imagine how beautiful the view displayed from the large window, the view of the bustling street under the bluish sky.
Kelvin sat on the sofa, watching as Luliyah watched the contents of the room with a look of amazement and her gaping mouth forming a "wow". He smiled at the woman's behaviour. She was really attractive to watch, he would never get tired of looking at her.
He cleared his throat softly, which jolted Luliyah from her amazement and then walked to the sofa Kelvin was seated on. After she sat down, Kelvin didn't say anything. The current situation made her feel awkward again. She combed her hair behind her ear, not knowing what to do.
"I... I heard, you were looking for me?"Luliyah asked, breaking the silence between them.
"Hmm ..." Kelvin only answered briefly, not intending to reveal his intention was to find her.
Seeing Kelvin not responding to her, Luliyah felt confused. 'Why is this man so mysterious? What is his reason for looking for me? Why isn't he saying anything now after meeting me?'
"Why are you looking for me?" Luliyah dared herself to ask Kelvin, even though she actually felt intimidated by the presence of the man in front of her.
"Didn't you refuse to see me?" Kelvin asked bluntly.
Luliyah felt nervous when she heard the question. She indeed refused Agi's pick up and did not want to meet Kelvin. But right now, she really needed help from him. She must immediately find an excuse.
"I don't follow strangers, neither do I enter their car. I was planned to see you after after visiting my mother at the hospital". That was the only reason she could think of at the moment.
Kelvin's eyebrow raised when he heard her answer. He knew that the woman in front of him was lying. He didn't know what changed her mind that she finally decided to meet him. But he had no problem with her lies. At least, she was in front of him.
Under Kelvin's gaze, Luliyah felt even more restless.
'Has my lie been exposed? What else should I say?'
As if she was saved, Kelvin's office door suddenly opened. Elise brought two cups of tea and served them in front of Kelvin and Luliyah.
Luliyah thanked Elise, but the woman completely ignored her and instead turned to face Kelvin as if waiting for his response.
Kelvin didn't look at her at all. He was ungrateful and didn't even touch the tea that Elise brought.
Kelvin knew Elise deliberately entered his office, not just to deliver the tea. But she was also curious about what he and Luliyah were doing. If only, that woman was not smart in doing her job, he would have fired her.
Elise has worked in his office for quite a while and understood the company policies well. Her experience made her professional. Unfortunately, Kelvin realized that Elise had a crush on him and her attitude grew increasingly aggressive. In the past, she would only look at him from a distance, but now she dared to enter his office without permission.
After putting down the tea cup, Elise did not immediately leave the office. She stood beside Kelvin as if waiting for further instructions from her boss.
This made Kelvin even more annoyed. He waved his hand, instructing Elise to get out of his office. Seeing the order from her boss, Elise couldn't help but leave languidly.
Meanwhile, Luliyah watched Elise leave with a worried look. She felt unwilling to see Elise walk out of the office. She didn't want to be left alone with Kelvin. What else should she say to Kelvin?
The sound of the door closing was heard, Luliyah still couldn't take attention away from the door, all the time looking restless and nervous. Her brain was spinning rapidly, looking for a way out of this situation.
What should she do? Should she be candid and ask Kelvin for help right away?
