Adarsh's Pov.
February 25th, 2022.
The full moon shone bright in the sky, lighting up the whole field. The stars littered across the sky seems like diamonds scattered everywhere. The warm breeze gently caressed my face. The sound of cricket's chirping has filled the surroundings.
The whole scene is giving the vibe of a calm and peaceful night when it is anything but.
The warehouse in front of us is quiet and still. The two men standing guard outside the door are neither moving nor talking. I am even starting to doubt if they are breathing or not.
I should admire these men for their loyalty towards their leader, no matter if their leader is a scam of the earth but my conscience doesn't give me the right to do so.
Sorry for the late introduction. I am a soldier. An Indian Special Forces Major to be precise. And my name is Adarsh Dewan.
Two months ago we received an anonymous tip that some terrorist group were going to be present around the borders of Kashmir for their dealings. But it didn't specify what dealings were they going to make. So we were not entirely sure we should go ahead with the tip. But we have been after these people for quite some time now and the tip was too huge to pass.
I won't bore you with the details but we only got to know that their leader and his second in command, Wasim and Bala, will also be present there. Its an golden opportunity for us, as we have been on their tail for quite sometime now.
So, here we are. Trying to catch them in action. Whatever it might be. Our plan was simple. When the good for nothing scams arrive we will wait for them to start their meeting and get comfortable. And when we get to know the main agenda for their meeting, we will strike them head on.
I know it sounds like an idiotic and crazy plan but in situations like this when you don't have the full information, you have to put together at least something to get your game going. Even if you know it can get you killed.
And its not like we will get a second chance to kill off the mafia head and his side kick. So we gotta do what we gotta do. No matter how idiotic it is.
We have been hiding in these small wild bushes for quite some time now but we saw nothing out of the ordinary till now, just two stone like figures standing to take anyone down if the situation arise.
It feels like as if they are guarding something. I know its not their boss because they are not here yet but something that is as important as their life. Something is really off about this place. Whatever, we will just have to wait and see what it is.
'What's taking them so long?' I thought to myself.
"What's taking them so long?" My Captain and close friend Reyansh Agnihotri said angrily. Reflecting my own thoughts exactly.
"Seriously, we have been stuck in this God forsaken place for hours now. What the hell are they doing not coming for their shitty meeting?" Another close friend and Lieutenant Faisal Aman said annoyed.
"God knows how much longer we have to wait for them to show up." Subedar Pratik Jaiswal said.
"Patience is a virtue, my friend." Said Subedar Major Eliot Martin.
"Stop being Philosophical or so help me God, I'm going to kick your ass first before them." Said Faisal making everyone laugh.
When suddenly Eliot said something we have been waiting to hear all night.
"They are here!!"
Everyone became quite at once. Nobody said a single word. We could even hear our breathing in the silence.
I was feeling many emotions at the same time. Fear, nervousness, excitement and many other. I could even hear my heart beating in my chest. I was filled with adrenaline and my hands were itching to kill those bastards.
And I know the others were also feeling the same emotions as me. We all have been in this kind of scenario many a time but it never fails to excite us.
"Okay officers, time for some action. Eliot, tell us who and how many are they and their whereabouts. Pratik, listen carefully what they are talking about and report everything that's deemed important. And also stay connected to the base crew. Reyansh, Faisal and myself will be going in. And the others stay on your toes we might need backup anytime." I ordered.
"Yes Sir." They all said simultaneously.
As we were waiting for them to reach the warehouse, Eliot and Pratik were giving us the information about how many men were there and what not.
"So, we have five guards with fully loaded guns, apparently, around them. And two foreigners, my guess is they are their clients with whom they are having this meeting today. And there they are, the Mafia head and his side kick, Wasim and Bala. And...there is one more man which I most definitely didn't wanted to see here."
"Who?" Asked Reyansh.
"Vihaan Dogra." Eliot said disappointed.
I heard everyone signing with disappointment and I understand their disappointment. Even I was nervous after hearing that name.
Vihaan Dogra is a name most or should I say everyone in the mafia world feared. And they have appropriate reason to be afraid of the man. He is a monster. And if he is here then our job is ten times more tougher then it was before.
"Tell me you are pulling my leg?" Asked Faisal.
"Sadly, No I'm not." Said Eliot.
"Well Fuck." Said Pratik.
Fuck indeed. We all saw them heading inside the warehouse and probably towards the meeting room.
"Okay, guys relax. We will cross that hurdle when it comes. Eliot, anything else?" I asked.
"No Sir, nothing worth mentioning yet." Said Eliot.
"Okay so let's move on. Pratik, you had installed a microphone in their meeting room, any info?." I asked Pratik.
"No, Sir. It seems they are just exchanging hello's as of yet." Answered Pratik.
"Alright. Me, Faisal, Reyansh are going in and you guys stay on alert." I ordered them.
"Yes, Sir." They all answered together.
We started to head towards the warehouse very carefully. As we didn't wanted those goons to know of our presence. But as we were about to enter the warehouse, Pratik's cursing stopped us on our tracks.
"Holy Shit!!" exclaimed Pratik.
We all immediately halted and asked him what the matter was.
"Kill them Sir. Kill them all, these punks are not human. They don't deserve to live." He said angrily.
It's very rare to see a trained Officer getting so worked up and that to the Calmest man of our unit.
"What is the matter officer?" Asked Reyansh.
"They are here to strike a deal, Sir." Said Pratik.
"We already know that, Pratik. But what is it that made you exclaim like that?" Faisal asked.
"Its's human trafficking, Sir. They are selling girls." Said an even angered Pratik.
We didn't know what to say and what to think. We just knew that these monsters are going to die tonight.
"What are you waiting for? Towards the warehouse. Now!!" I said to my comrades.
"Yes, Sir."
We started towards the warehouse again and as silently as possible entered it. There were no guards there, which was very unlikely as these men may like to play with guns but they are nothing but cowards. My mind was sending me red signals and my body was on full alert as my instincts were telling me that everything was going way to smoothly here.
"Am I the only one who thinks it has been way too easy?" asked Reyansh.
"No, something really feels off." Said Faisal.
"Sir, the girls are here. They are here." Exclaimed a very excited Pratik.
"What do you mean the girls are here?" I asked confused.
"I mean the girls that they are dealing, Sir. They are here right in this very warehouse." Pratik said happily.
"What is their location?" asked Reyansh.
"I'll take you there Officer. What's the rush?" Came a cold voice from right behind us.
We tensed up for a minute then turned around and pointed our guns in the direction of the voice. We were surprised to find none other than Vihaan Dogra standing there at ease, with his hands inside his pocket. And around him were his men with their guns aimed right at us.
We knew that they easily outnumbered us three. And I also knew that if Vihaan is standing infront of me, fighting will be useless as I know he will disarm us in everyway.
"Major, why don't you three drop your weapons and come with me and I will show you where the girls are at. And yes, tell your other team members who are hiding around this area to back off if they don't want to see you three dead." Vihaan said with his heavy voice.
"Major..." Eliot started but I cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
"Stay put." I ordered.
"You think we're afraid to die Dogra, think again. And sorry to break it to you but even if we are going to die tonight, we aren't dying alone. We are taking you with us." Faisal said.
"Hmm...I'm sorry I forgot for a minute that you guys are no ordinary people who will be afraid if a gun is pointed at their foreheads but soldiers who can and will die for their country and people. But what if I point my gun at..."
There stood two girls, in their early twenties with their faces painted with tears and hands and legs littered with bruises and cuts. And with guns pointed at their heads. Their eyes were hopefully looking in our direction. Hoping that we will save them from this hell.
"What do you say now, Major? Are you still not willing to drop you weapons and bid farewell to your team? Or are you strong enough to have their deaths on your conscience forever?" Vihaan said coldly.
I knew he would disarm us in everyway but to use the girls for doing that is just cruel. I looked at Faisal and Reyansh and saw them wearing the same conflicting expression as myself. But we just couldn't let the girls die infront of our eyes.
"Comrades, back off." I ordered my fellow soldiers while dropping my weapons followed by Faisal and Reyansh.
"Major..." They all tried to argue but I cut them off harshly.
"Just go, it's not a request, it's an order."
"Yes Major." They replied after a long pause.
I looked towards Vihaan and saw him smirking like a retard. How I wish to punch that smirk off his face but I have to think rationally as my one wrong move could harm the girls.
"Please pass the ear plugs you three have on you and any other weapon in your possession too." He said mockingly.
We removed the ear piece and pulled out our hidden weapon which consists of two shot guns and a knife and hand it over to his men.
"Enjoy your time with the girls until the meeting is over then we can have a one on one with the Boss. Lock them up with the girls and four of you will stay guard there." Vihaan ordered his men.
And then he turned around and left us with the guards who escorted us towards a basement where we can hear the crying and wailing of the girls.
As a guard opened the door we saw atleast ten girls cowering away from the guards.
"Try anything fishy and you die." A bald head man said with his accented voice.
"Yeah yeah we know. Now out of my face before I smake you." Faisal said irritated.
He glared at Faisal with so much anger that if he could he would burn him down. But he just turned around and closed the door.
"Now what?" Faisal asked.
"Now we wait for the meeting to end." I said.
"You gotta be kidding me." He said dumbfounded.
