After talking with Sakuya.....
Third POV:
They began heading to the guild. Hisami was waiting for them.
"Ah, there you guys are; I was waiting, you know, " Hisami shouted.
"Sorry we got summoned by the prince, " Zetsu said.
"Prince Sakuya?"
"Yeah, him."
"I'm sorry we're late, " Shou said.
"Shou-chan, have you been crying?"
"No, Sakuya was also in my world, so when he told me he was my real friend, I started crying."
"Oh, I thought it was because of this idiot."
"Hey, I wouldn't make him cry, "Zetsu shouted.
" Yeesh, who is yelling so loudly in the morning, " Kamiya asked as he began walking in and yawning.
"It's noon, " They all thought.
Kamiya saw Shou and began smiling.
"Good afternoon, Shou-chan."
"Good afternoon, um, Kamiya-san, right?"
"Yeah, that's me."
Kamiya saw his sword.
"Is that sword from Musara-san, " Kamiya asked.
"Yeah, it is."
"Cool, Musara-san is doing alright, right?"
"Yeah, he is, although yesterday he told me about a robbery near his shop. I swear I don't want to see the idiot that tries to steal from him, " Zetsu said.
"Is Musara strong," Shou asked.
"Yeah, he's about the same as me."
"Alright, Shou-chan, let's head to the forest near here, Seina; you come as well, " Hisami said with a smile.
"A forest? Are you going to help me train with magic, " Shou asked with a smile.
"Yeah, although I have something that might help you, I'm afraid your power would destroy many properties if not properly trained."
"Are you sure I'm that strong?"
"Yeah, let's go."
They headed to the forest, and Seina was smiling at Shou.
"Shou-chan, you're adorable, " Seina said.
"Cute, " he asked.
"Yeah, although you're beautiful too and seem confused."
"Confused?"
"Yeah, you don't understand how much appeal you have."
"We're here at the training grounds, " Hisami said.
Hisami made three books appear.
"Before we get into anything, I'll show you the basic points of controlling mana or magic."
"Basic points?"
A book that was floating opened and showed an outline of a human.
"Mana is controlled through emotions, mental power, and physical power. I'll show you what I mean, " he said.
He places his hand on the ground, and Hisami has mana appearing around him.
Flowers and trees began growing.
"Mana is exchanging for results. I control my mana while the living organisms in the soil are filled with mana."
"Amazing, " Shou said.
"Shou, close your eyes."
Shou closed his eyes, and Hisami smiled.
"Now, imagine energy forming into a ball. Imagine the ball is in the center of your body and expand, " Hisami said.
Shou's aura appeared around him; he opened his eyes and saw mana around him.
"Pretty, " Shou said.
"Wait, what do you see, " Hisami asked.
"Mana, everywhere, colors, and power. I see yours too, Hisami; yours looks very dark and full of malicious. Seina's mana is golden and has a warm feel to it. I can even see the mana in Cebris, " Shou said.
"I see, so you've achieved mana vision in that short time, " Seina said.
"Eh, mana vision?"
"Yeah, it takes at least three years to see everything completely, but you are amazing, " Hisami said.
Shou looked around, and he saw mana from above.
"Ah, I've seen this before, Zetsu-san. Is that you, " Shou asked while looking up.
Zetsu hopped down.
"Yeah, that's quite amazing, hmm. I wonder if you can use aura, " he asked.
"Aura?"
"Yeah, mana surrounds you in a thin layer that protects you from harm, " Hisami said.
Shou began thinking about a cliche anime he had watched before.
"Maybe it's just like that, " Shou thought.
Suddenly a blue aura appeared around him.
Hisami was surprised.
"Shou, at this rate, you'll be very powerful. I'll give a book to you later, but right now, you're going to learn combat magic, " Hisami said.
"Combat magic, " Shou asked.
"Like that aura skill,s for defense, there is a skill called Aura field that is for amping up your sword's power and strength."
"How do you do it?"
"Well, first, you need to have your aura activated; after this, you will focus half your aura into your arms or your weapon."
"Like this."
Shou drew his sword, and Cebris and his mana rose around him.
"Now slice the air," Hisami said before putting a barrier around him.
Shou sliced the air, and everything in the direction disappeared.
"Space magic," they shouted.
"Okay, Shou, this time, pretend that your sword will come in contact with someone and do it again."
"Yes."
Shou imagined him striking down a monster, and instead of making everything disappear, there was a huge slice in the ground.
"Shou, turn off your aura."
Shou went back to normal.
"Shou, you're too slow. It would be difficult for you to build up such a good attack and miss your target. I have an idea: you will practice swordsmanship each day and build up your speed. Self-defense would also be helpful to you, so begin by doing push-ups. "
"Push-ups?"
", No, see this mountain behind me; focus your mana on your feet and legs."
Shou did, and Hisami did the same.
"Follow me, and try to keep up. If you fall, I will catch you, okay?"
"Keep up," Shou thought.
Hisami jumped high to a ledge that led up the mountain. Shou began running and used a rock on the ground to jump up. Shou jumped from ledge to ledge as Hisami started climbing faster. When they got to the top. Shou looked at Hisami, who was smiling.
"You're such a fast learner, Shou-chan. The next step is to carry two buckets of water, without spilling it, up the mountain as quickly as possible. This will teach you how to control mana in water."
"Eh?"
"I will also send obstacles in your way, so don't let your guard down."
Hisami made two buckets appear. He then pointed to the nearest pond.
"If you can make it up today, we can move on to the next lesson tomorrow. Otherwise, we'll continue with this type of training."
Shou nodded.
"Also, leave your sword here."
"Why?"
"So you can't escape."
"Cebris, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry, just beat this stupid test, Shou-chan," Cebris said.
"I will win."
"Also, make sure your arms a held out when you carry the buckets," Hisami said.
"Okay."
Shou took the buckets and ran down the mountain. He filled the buckets with water. He held the buckets far apart; he looked like he was struggling.
"Damn, this is going to be tough."
Shou's POV:
After about three hours.....
I was breathing heavily. I've already failed 100 times. The way he makes the earth change is making this difficult.
"I wonder if there is a type of magic that will allow me to teleport a short distance," I thought.
I thought about it; I looked at a tree about 10 ft away. I focused on it and appeared next to it.
"This type of skill will help. I wonder if there are other useful skills I could learn. Maybe floating magic," I thought.
I started floating off the ground.
"Wow, this is; I know I can do this now. If I create different techniques, it's sure to help me out in the long run. I wonder if I could also make myself have fast reflexes with magic. I wonder if I can make my five senses better."
I focused on my mana, and I began hearing better, seeing better, and smelling better.
"With all of this, I should be able to do it."
Third POV:
Shou filled the buckets and teleported back to the mountain's bottom. He focused his mana on keeping the water inside the buckets. He kept mana running throughout his body. He jumped up ledge after ledge. Then the earth cracked around him; he teleported to the next ledge. He put more mana into his legs and jumped faster and higher. A rock was rolling down, and he flew out of the way and up the mountain.
"Perfect, when he has thought about what he wants to do, he can go through with it. My guess is he learned to focus his mana quickly, which was the point of this exercise and also to quicken his reflexes to the events around him," Hisami thought.
Zetsu and Seina were watching from above as well. They were smiling when they saw how fast Shou was learning.
"Shou is a genius; if he had learned magic as a child, he would have been able to surpass Hisami and me a long time ago," Zetsu thought.
"He's amazing."
Shou finally made it up the mountain without spilling water. He smiled.
"I did it."
"Shou-chan, pick up your sword and run your mana through it," Hisami said with a smirk.
"Yes."
Shou picked up Cebris, and his mana went through quickly.
"Wow, in a single day, you've sped up your mana pressure, hey Seina, have a sparring match with Shou-chan," Hisami said.
Seina smiled.
"Sure, it sounds fun, but let's get back on the ground. I don't want to be responsible for destroying a mountain," She said.
After running back down the mountain...
"Shou-chan is fast, he hasn't even been working a full day yet, and his power is this strong. His control over mana is amazing, and I think he'll be stronger than Hisami," Seina thought.
Seina smiled before putting her hair into a ponytail. Her mana was furious as it leaked out. She pulled her sword from the scabbard and got into a stance.
"For learning purposes, I won't hold back, so come at with all you got, Shou-chan," She shouted.
"Yeah."
Shou focused his mana, and his aura grew larger.
"So much power, Shou is growing even more robust, " Cebris thought.
Shou smiled.
"Here I go, Seina-san."
Shou disappeared and reappeared behind Seina. Seina blocked his attack, and Shou jumped back from her. Seina's eyes were wide open.
"That attack just now; he's quite strong," Seina thought.
Seina charged at him, and Shou dodged her attacks. Shou upped his senses around him. He began seeing things slower, and he observed her sword style. He backed away and smiled.
"Her sword style, I've seen it before; it was in the kendo dojo. one sword style. If I do this, maybe," Shou thought.
Shou then put his sword out in front of him and breathed in. His eyes turned a sharper silver. He charged toward her, dodged it when she was about to swing, and his sword was her neck. She smiled. Shou put his sword back into his sheath. He let out a relieved sigh.
"That was great, Shou-chan. You're fast, " Zetsu said.
"You're amazing, Shou-chan. I can't believe you were able to copy her sword technique, " Hisami said while clapping.
"He copied my sword technique that quickly," She asked while putting her sword back into her sheath.
"Yeah, you're able to use sensing magic, aren't you," Hisami asked with a smirk.
"Yeah, I can make my senses more sensitive and improve my reaction time."
"That first attack, if I hadn't run mana through my arms, that first clash with our swords would have done much more damage. If you were to wait to show the enemy that you can teleport, then it would be a shocking move against people."
"Thank you for the advice."
"Shou, it's almost sunset but before then, let's go hunt an A-class monster," Hisami said.
"Eh, are you sure I'm ready for that type of thing?"
"Of course, and you're easily powerful enough. Let's go to the forest's center; that's where many Flame Fafnir wolves are. "
"Are you serious? Why do you want to have him fight them off the back," Zetsu shouted.
"Because he's a lot stronger than he shows," Hisami said.
After walking into the center of the forest, they encountered goblins.
"Shou, take them out," Hisami said.
Shou nodded his head and took out his sword. He charged at the thirty goblins, and they went flying.
"Woah, he's using my charging move," Seina said with a smile.
Fifty more showed up, and then a giant goblin appeared.
"Oh, that goblin is a B-class; try to take it out as quickly as possible," Hisami said.
Shou dodged the giant goblin's attack and sliced its head off.
"Woah," Zetsu thought.
All the other goblins ran away.
"I did it, Hisami-san, Zetsu-san, Seina-san," Shou said with a smile.
Suddenly they heard howls. Three red and black wolves appeared.
"Oh, those are the A-class ones I was telling you about. They challenge the strong in battle all the time. Good luck; these guys are tough because they can use magic."
Shou held up his sword and imagined ice.
"Here we go."
Mana rose around him, and the wolves charged; he swung the sword. He froze the wolves in place; then, he sliced the ice wolves in half.
"Holy shit, it's cold," Zetsu shouted.
"Okay, later, we have to find out what elements of magic you can use," Hisami said.
