Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

I had dinner then went to my living room. My brothers came in five minutes later.

"Hey," greeted Kaden. "How are you?" "Fine I guess. I mean I just found out there was a prophecy about me and I'm stuck here till my hair turns completely white. What about you guys?" I asked.

"Well, we are here to tell our lovely sister why we have the Blue Moon pack as our guests," replied Louise.

We all took our seats. I was in the middle, Kaden was on my left and Louise was on my right. Kaden had a concerned look on his face but Louise was just looking at me waiting for me to get comfortable.

"You already know about the pack's problem but what you don't know is that they're actually thinking of giving up their pack." Louise said.

"What? They can't give up,"

"That's what father thinks too so that's why he invited them to come and have a meeting. He thinks he can convince them not to give up their pack."Kaden said. "Why do they want to do that?" I asked, "They have to fight back." "That's the problem." Louise said. "They think that even if they fight back, it will lead to more bloodshed and so will just be a waste of time. They already lost so many lives because of the ambush and they don't want to risk anymore."

"We can help them because we have the strongest army." "Father can't do that. He is the king and so if he does that it will look like he's supporting only one pack and a king is supposed to be impartial," Kaden said. "Okay then father can call to have a meeting with the other packs." I said. "Yes that would work but father wants to reason with the Blue Moon pack first." Louise said. "What if they refuse to change their plan to destroy the Blue Moon pack? What will father do then?" I asked.

"Well war is not an option because of you," Kaden said. "What? Why?"

I was scared and confused. Why couldn't wage war against them because of me? Louise sent a glare towards Kaden's direction. "What? I thought we could tell her everything now." Kaden exclaimed. I don't like how they don't tell me everything. Haven't I been kept in the dark long enough?

"Tell me-" I said, "Everything."

Kaden is the care free one amongst us. Louise is the oldest and so he isn't always free around us.

Before he showed off his skills and the fact that he was going to be king. Kaden and I would talk about him behind his back.

"Well," Kaden started. "Mother and father did, technically tell you everything. Your black hair is less because you are surrounded by good people and all those good stuff. If there was to be war in the kingdom the chaos would affect you negatively. You may start absorbing dark energy which would lead to your hair becoming black completely and you know what that means."

Oh my moon goodness. I never thought I could affect father's decisions. I couldn't even harm a fly but now I'm being told I could be used as a secret weapon for destruction. After I understood everything he had said I asked, "Is there anything else I don't know?" "It's not that important but the cards you get every year are for the dead princess."

"What?" I exclaimed, "Do I have a dead sister?" "No, no. Let me rephrase that. Nobody knows you're alive except for the eight people you already know."

I didn't know what to say, they think I'm dead. Emily was hurt so she didn't even say anything.

"When mother was pregnant, everyone knew about the pregnancy. Grandma soon realized you were the child from the prophecy and so we couldn't let anything happen to you. To protect you, father told the people that you had died a few hours after you had woken up from sleep. Everyone was sad and mourned for two weeks. They really loved you even though they only saw you once when they came to the castle to deliver gifts. To show their love for you, every year they would send cards. At first father didn't want you to know about them but then mother convinced him to let you have them."

I was speechless. They loved me that much. I had to do something, anything to show my gratitude but I was feeling sleepy. I yawned and my brother took the hint so he kissed my cheeks goodnight. I went to my closet and said, "Dresecta le nileg." I was suddenly in my nightie and my dress was in the laundry.

I lied down on my bed and switched off the lights. "Goodnight," Emily said. "Goodnight," I replied. I slept that night thinking about everything I had learnt from the prophecy to the cards.

The last thing I thought of was Mark the guard. I tried to ignore the pulling I felt towards him. I couldn't sense his wolf. I would ask him about it tomorrow. I didn't know why but I was excited to meet him again.
