Antoniette arrived in the Knight mansion during noon but the first place she went was the kitchen. The reaction of the maids to her arrival was full of shock but then they began to distance themselves from her immediately and pretended like they were too immersed in their duties to talk to her. Antoniette had no choice but to go fetch her maid whom she met at the back of the house drying clothes.
Paulina was surprised to see her and tears pooled her eyes. She did not expect her mistress to be back so soon but now that she was here, she ran to meet her and sobbed out loud. "My lady, you are finally back! You don't know how much I missed you..."
Antoniette was a bit perplexed by her behavior and even asked her. "What made you think I was not going to return? I am Aidan's fiancee."
