Chapter 4 - #4

It had been many moons since Geo'rgge witnessed the spectacle that was his life mate, Hen're'it, and her ravenous hunger. During that moment, when she demonstrated a new means of consumption, he watched in fascination as her tongue extended and elongated, coiling around the great serpentine creature as if it were a separate living entity.

Her tongue returned, leaving the area it had wrapped devoid of matter, stripping away fur, skin, and tissues down to the bone. The serpent never knew what struck it as Hen're'it consumed it whole, assimilating its genetics into her own.

Geo'rgge stared out over the horizon, Hen're'it resting next to him. "This world has opened up to us, my shining star," he mused.

Over the coming days, Geo'rgge gradually learned more about himself and his life mate. Hen're'it displayed a wider array of abilities that left him at a loss for words, despite his vast increase in mental capacity. She could consume not only flesh but bone, hair, muscle—her ravenous hunger allowed her to devour anything. Whatever she ate, its atomic structure merged with her own.

One day, as Geo'rgge marveled at her ever-changing abilities, he discovered he could manipulate his own body by combining her DNA with his own. "My darkened moon, what are you doing?" Hen're'it inquired as she lay bare before him.

"My shining star, I am almost finished," Geo'rgge replied.

His hands moved across her body, causing her skin to shift away as he delved further into her being. With a gesture of his hands, he separated two strands of genetic code into four identical codes, two remaining within her and the other two traveling down through his hands to assimilate with his DNA.

As the transformation began, Geo'rgge felt an intense burning sensation, as if he had been stung by a great hornet. His eyes swelled with rage, and he looked around the cave. In a fit of madness, he turned his fists against the cavern wall, breaking bones, but they quickly healed. He had achieved an impossible feat, one he couldn't have accomplished just days before.

He turned to look at Hen're'it, his future, his salvation, his renewal. "My life mate, thanks to you and your continued changes, I have discovered more about both of us and have seen what we will become."

Hen're'it asked, "And what, my love, is that?"

Geo'rgge laughed, his voice filled with newfound confidence, "We will become like the great ball in the sky, gods over all we see."

And so, as gods, they wove themselves into the very fabric of time. With each passing day, Geo'rgge's mind expanded, comprehending words and profound concepts before their existence.

Fire, earth, air, water—his consciousness transcended these elements. As his eyes closed, his awareness extended beyond the confines of his own perspective. He beheld the intricate dance of atoms and molecules, witnessing the essence of life at its most fundamental level.

In the midst of this cosmic revelation, he encountered her. If his transformation had reached such grandeur, his life mate, Hen're'it, had truly ascended to godhood. On an empty plateau covered in snow, she stood, the frozen landscape untouched by her presence.

Her right hand extended, defying the laws of chemistry as fire erupted with intense hues of orange and red. The snow yielded beneath the searing heat, transitioning from solid to liquid to gas in rapid succession. Hen're'it's movements were deliberate, each step revealing mastery over the elements.

With a swift gesture, she commanded the earth beneath her to ignite in a rolling wave, shaping it into intricate forms. Her movements were fluid, akin to a ballerina gracefully traversing the fiery terrain. The climax approached as she halted, standing on a focal point that resembled a spiral.

Raising both hands, she stilled the falling snow around her. With a mesmerizing display, she manipulated the delicate flakes, merging them into intricate patterns. Geo'rgge, awestruck, witnessed his life mate seamlessly command the four basic elements as if they were extensions of her own being.
