The beastman is holding a basket full of medicine plants. Jiu Lin immediately categorized him as the physician of the Traders.There are two beastmen walking behind him. They looked a bit skinnier than any beastmen that he had seen. Even skinnier than Ke Rin who doesn't go out much. However, he immediately noticed that there are no sounds when they walk. Before he could even think why and what talent they have, Lee Ming tapped his shoulder.
Lee Ming beckons the three and introduces them to him, "This Lee Youhan, my son. Those two are also my sons. Well, my brother's direct sons. They look and smell exactly the same. You might get confused, but don't worry, they don't really care. You can call them both Yun. They are Lee Yunsi and Lee Yunwei. Calling them Yun will be less awkward." He chuckles.
"Jiu Lin," the two Yun's greeted him.
He nodded at them. "Hello." He felt something wrong with the way they were looking at him. They are acting so familiar to him.
Although the Fox Tribe is a medium sized Tribe, not all fox beastman knew him. Jiu Lin also knew only a few of them, he was focusing on learning skills that would be useful for Hu'er's life.
"How's Hu'er?"
That question made him snap out of his thoughts. He looks at the two with a bit of curiosity, "You know Hu'er?"
Hu'er have been quiet for several whole seasons already. Didn't go out much and even students of their Daddies rarely talked about Hu'er. There are only two recent events that made Hu'er become the talk of the tribe. One is her first heat and the second is her getting and rejecting another suitor.
"Yea… This.." The two become a little flustered. They didn't know how to explain it to Jiu Lin.
Jiu Lin waited until they regained their composure.
Lee Yunsi puffed out his chest. "We will join the next test for Hu'er's courtship."
Lee Yunwei nodded, "Yes."
"Oh…" Their bravery is commendable but… 'Might as well not tell them.' Jiu Lin decided not to tell them the bad news. It will be quite long before those tests will be open. Hu'er already decided to negotiate with the tribe after all. He will let the Tribe break the news.
Lee Ming laughed awkwardly for his sons. Yet what he said sparks another topic. "Don't mind them. They just lost to Hu Guo."
Jiu Lin blinked and looked at the two. "You already tried..?'
Lee Yunsi puffed his cheeks and answered, "Yes, but at that time I was sick."
"I was limping," Lee Yunwei added.
Lee Wen waves his hand, "Okay stop dilly dally. Let Jiu Lin get to know the others."
"I'll bring him there instead," Lee Youhan volunteered.
His Dad and the two twins still needed to go and inform the lead of the trading team that they would go a bit far this night to hunt so they went away first.
After watching them go away, he looks at the place where they are staying earlier but his cousins are not there. Looking around he saw his cousins are not in vicinity anymore and knew that they might walk out to find a space where they can hide stuff while they are hunting.
His eyes caught on a sign that only their team knew and knew where to go now. He looked at Jiu Lin and walked with him. "Don't mind those two. They are a little bit bitter that they didn't win."
Because Lee Youhan started to walk, Jiu Lin followed him. "It's alright."
He paused slightly and said, "To be honest… They would have a pretty good chance, that day was just unlucky…"
"Hmm? What happened?" Jiu Lin heard him sighed.
"Wild animals raided us. That's what happened."
He looks at him, "Raid?" That's a rare occurrence. Wild animals won't raid any group of beastman not unless they stepped on their territory, took a cub or due to hunger and smell of blood.
Lee Youhan nodded. "We're about to go home that day. It was supposed to be their last trading before the competition for a chance to become Hu'er's mate. Wild animals suddenly raided us while we were still deep in the forest."
Jiu Lin watched him look for trees, while telling their story. "Two beastmen died, almost all of the traders were heavily wounded. Only I who fled have light wounds. I went back to the Fox tribe as soon as I could call for a back up. Jia Ting, and the rest, including Hu Guo ran with me to go back as soon as we could. Yun... They nearly died but Hu Guo was quite fast and killed the wild animal that was about to kill them."
Lee Youhan chuckles. "So they owed him their life and couldn't really fought hard for Hu'er…. But they did try their best and even fought each other for second place." He didn't want Jiu Lin to think that the two didn't really like Hu'er for not fighting seriously. They did, but were restricted due to the situation they are in.
"Anyway, my Dad, and most of our family worked with Jia Ting the most. He definitely didn't tell you about us so I will just give you a heads up. My Dad is very playful…. But he is quite good at planning and strategies on how to fight, especially hunting. He is mostly the one with our sharpshooter."
Lee Youhan finally saw the three far away. He waved and continued to walk towards them. "Those two, Lee Yunsi and Lee Yunwei are haughty from time to time. They are good at tracking traces and have superior hearing, eyesight and agility. They mostly scout in front of the team or when fighting go face to face with enemies. Using their speed to make sure they would get hit. Me, on the other hand, is a bit mediocre when it comes to things like fighting and so on but I'm good at keeping track of accounts or numbers, as well as knowing what plants can be eaten, poisonous or medicine. I did learn from Jiu Lin for two whole seasons. Then, I just read more books. I will become a physician in our group when needed."
