"Familiar?" Jiu Lin and Ke Rin look confused.
"Yes…" Hu'er muttered something that they didn't hear. Suddenly she gasped in pain. Holding her head. She could feel a pulse inside that made her head hurt.
Jiu Lin holds her to stabilize Hu'er's body. He guided her to the fur blankets. "Are you okay?" Ke Rin took her wrist and found nothing wrong.
Hu'er already knows what's happening to her. She just made up an excuse, "I am fine. I'm just wondering where I heard it."
"I never talked about it… neither did Shun Su." Ke Rin looks at Jiu Lin. Jiu Lin shook his head.
They felt like Hu'er is hiding something, but they didn't ask. Ke Rin and Jiu Lin know that if Hu'er wants to say it, she would share it.
"Maybe Song Li?" Ke Rin stood up and took water. He gave it to Hu'er.
Hu'er drank it and shook her head, "I don't think so." She pursed her lips, "Can you call Daddy Jia Ting? I want to talk to him."
She really wants to confirm if it's her memory wanting to come back. The only way to do that is to try their speculation. To get as much information as she could and stimulate her brain.
Jiu Lin looks at Ke Rin. He then stood up, "...Okay." Jiu Lin went out to call Jia Ting and left the door open. He could still hear Jia Ting's voice downstairs so it will only take a short while before he comes back.
Ke Rin sat down again so Hu'er won't look up at him when talking. "Did Daddy Jia Ting know? Surely right…?"
Hu'er nods, "I will find out." They both went quiet. She saw how deep in thought Ke Rin is.
She couldn't help it anymore and assured him, "I'm fine Ke Rin. I will tell you, guys, about it after we finally get mated."
He nods, "I understand."
Some things are meant to be kept secret until she is assured that they won't turn around and stab her.
Beastmen who are mated with their female will never betray their mate, even when death comes and separates them.
It was also her Daddies who told her to do so. According to them, the world is too magical, you will never know when it will hit you.
Her Daddies, who knew about this secret, are different. One is her biological Dad. The others are her helpers to get information. Another one is that for some reason she could feel some link and just know they wouldn't do anything that will harm her. She could depend on them.
Jia Ting knocked and came in, "You called me?"
Jiu Lin didn't tell him why Hu'er called him. He didn't know what to tell or explain to Jia Ting anyway.
"Yes." Hu'er nodded and wanted to stand up but Jia Ting stopped her.
"Just sit down." Jia Ting saw that there is something wrong with Hu'er.
Hu'er is a little bit pale and she's massaging her temples. She looks uncomfortable.
Ke Rin saw Jiu Lin signaling him to go out, and he stood up, "We will go first."
Jia Ting ordered them to, "Go down."
"Yes…" The two closed the door and went down. They aren't even planning to eavesdrop.
Ke Rin dragged Jiu Lin to their home to tell him what Hu'er said earlier and his theory.
Jia Ting waited for some time before asking, "What happened?"
"Aquatic Tribe sounds familiar. I felt a bit of pain in my head. I should have known what it was but couldn't remember. Or… It might be like those times." Hu'er wasn't really sure.
Regardless, he understood what she was telling him, "Tell me what I need to do."
Hu'looks down and pursed her lips. Her mind kept on spinning with the word of Aquatic Tribes. She looked up and said, "Information about Aquatic Tribes."
Jia Ting frowned. He only knows his Aunt's Tribe, not the other tribes. "I don't know much about it…" Then, he remembers someone who often joins the traders. "But Bao Hu knows."
"Daddy Bao Hu?" Hu'er suddenly remembered something.
A beastman tells her stories about half man and half fish vividly. However, Hu'er couldn't understand him because she didn't know their language.
Hu'er only realized it because she remember him describing it with hand gestures, about having tails as feet and swimming. It should be him.
Jia Ting nodded and explained to her, "Yes. He is a patrol on normal days but Bao Hu often goes with traders when trading far. He most often goes to the Aquatic Tribe."
"Can I know why?" Hu'er hesitatingly asked.
Jia Ting smiled, "It's fine. Everyone knows about it. His Dad is a Fox beastman who married a female from Aquatic Tribe. He grew up there and mated with your Mom when fifteen. He would go there once every whole season to visit his Mom."
Hu'er couldn't help but smile, "He's sweet and filial."
He nods, "He is. Do you want me to call him now?" Although Hu'er hasn't spoken yet, Jia Ting is ready to go out.
"Yes." And with that Jia Ting left. He would need to go out to the tribe. He knew that Bao Hu would be doing his patrol again even though he should be resting.
Hu'er pursed her lips and thought about it. 'First, I would only feel this when someone told me something for the first time. Then, I would only get that memory back when it's connected to me. I should write it all sometime…'
Jiu Lin came back to guard Hu'er but didn't go in when he saw her in a daze. Jiu Lin based his decision to not go in on how Hu'er looks.
Hu'er looks deep in thought as if she's thinking of a solution to a big problem. Jiu Lin didn't want to disturb her thoughts. He just sat down where she could see him.
After a while, Jiu Lin stood up and went down. Still, Hu'er didn't look up or say anything.
Someone knocked on the door interrupting Hu'er's thoughts. "I heard Hu'er needs my help."
The way her Daddy Bao Hu greets her made her chuckle, "Yes. Can Daddy tell me what those Aquatic Tribes..?"
