[Navi651] "...Program rebooting in 3 2 1. program restored. Navi651 online." [Hiro] "Welcome back. How was your nap?" [Navi651] "Not nearly rejuvenating enough, as I find myself still as the humans say 'feeling like I lost my marbles.'" [Hiro] "Can't help you out with that one. So back to my original question, exactly how are you going to get to safety? Like I said the vending machine you are currently in is located in a practically human abandoned city with communication line down. Not exactly an ideal situation."
The vending machine lit up slightly and the symbol on it turned into a buffering state. After three minutes the netnavi spoke up. [Navi651] "It seems I will have to burden you with another request aid." [Hiro] "Well, depends on if It's something that I can do. If it is, I'll do it." Hiro says as he scratched the back of his head. [Navi651] "It's simple. Need you to take a device containing the data of my core data and memory files from within this vending machine unit and deliver it to a branch office of the Navi Corporation undamaged." [Hiro] "Okay."
[Navi651] "Excellent! I will be in your care. Running program now. Preparing device, formatting 10% 20% 40% 75% 99% 100% complete. Transfer memory Files 1980 gigabytes 5% 10% 20% 40% 80% 100% complete. Transferring core program 7789 terabytes 2% 4% 6% 8% 10% 15% 20% 25% 30% 40% 50% 65% 80% 95% 100% complete. Creating Net Navi body program 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% 60% 70% 80% 90% 100% complete. Shutting down machine and releasing P.E.T. device in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." The vending machine lights flickers on and off in a series of patterns before revealing a compartment containing a 16 inch electronic device with a 8 inch screen four directional buttons on one side, and seven buttons on the other. One of which has the universal sign for power.
[Hiro] "So I just press this I guess." He pushes the power button and the screen comes to life revealing a digital portrait of Navi651. [Navi651] "Navi651 powered up an systems green. Temporary Operator please state your name and age for registration for limited use of the P.E.T. device." [Hiro] "Kitamura Hiro. I guess by the look of it, I looked about sixteenish. yeah let's go with that." [Navi651] "Kitamura Hiro, 16. Acknowledge. Setting up temporary user profile. Process complete. Welcome Kitamura Hiro." [Hiro] "Well now that that's done. I guess I should me back up with Rollinda and get the heck out of dodge."
[Navi651] "Correction, we are currently in Dentech city. Dodge city is located seven hundred miles west by 30 degrees southwest." [Hiro] "....Figure of speech..." [Navi651] "Noted, query who is Rollinda and what is your relationship to them?" [Hiro] "Umm...I guess that would be my traveling companion Hikari Rollinda. To be honest, I really don't think we have a relationship, just caught up in the same circumstances and traveling the same direction I suppose." Hiro scratches the back of his head. Then proceeds to retrace his steps to journey back towards Rollinda location while carrying the P.E.T. containing Navi651 in his left hand.
Five minutes later, a complete exasperated teenaged girl rapidly taps in irritation near a vehicle. She looks towards a killer robot infested ruined metropolis. searching for the target of her anger. [Rollinda] "Just where did that idiot go now!? Doesn't he know I have places to go!?" Sudenly she see a familiar figure making his way back to her location. When he finally reaches thirteen feet away from her...[Rollinda] "And where exactly did you run off to huh!!?!" She angrily emotes. [Hiro] "Umm, I got lost wondering on the path of life."
Hiro tries to joke hoping to help ease her temper. [Rollinda] "....Was that supposed to be funny!? If so, I'm not laughing!!" It fails. "Now tell me truth or so help me you'll learn how to feel pain in place that you didn't even know could feel pain!!" [Hiro] "Alright, alright. I went into the city after finding out that Dr. Light made my body able to exactly replicate the bodily functions of a normal Human being too well. After that I got into a small situation and figured out how to equip my weapons and armor also got a new weapon feature. After that I came back here." [Rollinda] "Wait you skipped way too many things! What are you hidding!?"
[Hiro] "What more can be said about using a restroom...don't tell me you find me using a toilet to be interesting..." He acts slightly appalled hoping to deflect the topic. [Rollinda] "That's not what I wanted to know!!" It succeeded. [Hiro] "Well whatever you wanted to know, we don't have time for it. My scanners have picked up a large group of robots coming this way from the town." [Rollinda] "Ah broken servos. We need to get moving ASAP. I don't feel particularly comfortable with you just now learning to use you weapons and armor to bet my life with."
[Hiro] "Then let's rocket." [Rollinda] "I'm starting up the hovercraft give me an E.T.A. of the robots coming here." [Navi651] "By my calculations the incoming wave should reach here in four hundred and twenty Nano cycles, or approximately seven micro cycles." [Rollinda] "Hiro, what was that?" [Hiro] "About less than Seven minutes give or take." [Rollinda] "No no no no no! Not that! The voice! The voice that just said that! Where did that voice come from and who exactly is it!?:
[Navi651] "How rude! I am a Navi Corp Net-Navi type AVF651. I'm a she not an it just stating for the record!" Rollinda finally noticed the PET device in Hiro's left hand.[Rollinda] "...And where exactly did you get a PET device installed with a Net-Navi!? Was that what you wanted to hide from me!? Are you listening to me!?" [Hiro] "All good question, however I have a better one." [Rollinda] "Yeah, and that is!?" [Hiro] "Do you see those several helicopter drones carrying bombs and five dragon fly robots head our way?"
Hiro points to the skyline in the city. [Rollinda] "Right, questions later getting away from flying muderbots now!" She hopped into her hovercraft and starts the engine with Hiro climbing in on the passenger side. With a loud whirling hum. the vehicle take flight away from the once thriving now ruined metropolis cityscape. The machines try to peruse but to no avail. the two teenagers and net-navi are long gone from the vicinity. After thirty minutes of driving Hiro asked a question.
[Hiro] "So what's our destination?" [Rollinda] "Nuh-uh answer my questions first then you'll get your answer, and this time I want to hear all of it. No skipping any details." Hiro tries teas her. [Hiro] "Does that also include what I did in the restroom?" With out even looking at him she pulls out an oversized wrench from who knows where and proceed to bonk him on top of the head. CRRRRAAAACK!!!!! [Hiro] "OOOOWWW! What did you do that for!? More importantly aren't you supposed to keep both hands on the wheel when you're in a moving vehicle as the driver!?"
[Rollinda[ "It's on autopilot. Now quit with wise cracking and start explaining what I want to know or you'll get another lump on your head!" [Hiro] "Fine...." Over the next hour Hiro begins to tell of his adventure minus the part about the restroom. "...and that when I came back to your basecamp. Any questions?" [Rollinda] "Yeah just one, can your abilities get anymore busted?!? I mean come on you can physically enter into cyberspace!? That's has to be like one of the most broken abilities to have!"
[Hiro] "Yeah you ain't kidding. That one super advanced program and function Dr. Light gave me. So now that we got that out of the way, where're we heading to next?" [Rollinda] "According to gramps notes, the next place to check out would be an old automated logging and wood processing facility near the town Arborville. It should have map data to another one of gramps projects. After that I suppose we can head to Halcyn city and catch the next train caravan back to Ryussei Base city where my home is."
