After inspecting all the other weapons he took out, they all had a similar description, besides the bow which seemed to have a "very small" mana attachment.
After asking what mana attachment means, he learned that it was the ability of the weapon to pull mana, which seems useless as he couldn't use spells and mana was just to make him stronger which from what he learned happened with meditation. Why would he need more mana when fighting? He didn't get an answer, as he heard lots of hushing from Ava and the green screen disappeared.
[Hey, don't forget to write your diary, so you don't forget something again]
'Hey, my memory isn't that bad… right? Ah anyway, how am I meant to get my notebook? Didn't it go Kaboom in the nuclear fireball.'
[Just say, 'Story notes']
'Mmm I'll do it later, as I am about to go to the table, but thanks for alerting me to this feature, you withholding system.'
Giggling was heard again which quickly faded in the distance. He decided to swing the sword and feel it. After "practicing" with the sword for a few minutes, he picked up the spear and tried "practicing" with it too. This happened with the bow and carefully with the greatsword. Then he decided to be like all those other light novel main characters to use the sword. Even though the spear had a better reach and the great sword had more damage, the quick motions of the sword seemed to fit him better and his speed.
He also decided to learn how to use the bow, but since he decided to adventure and most likely go into the forest to kill some monsters, he left the bow to learn for later. Something in the future he might regret.
As he returned all the weapons, he grabbed the sword scabbard and put the sword behind him. He quickly decided to leave the house quietly before anyone noticed as they would make it hard for him to adventure correctly. So he grabbed a water flask, and a book that he found that labeled plants and put them in a backpack he found in the weapons closet.
He then proceeded to get out of the house without either his mother or sister noticing, which was like a miracle from the goddess of luck. And started to head down the street toward the edge of town.
As he passed buildings, he started to appreciate the architecture of the town. Even though the wooden structure looked clumsy at first, you would then notice some strange imprints on the wall near joints that seemed to make the wood stronger or hold together more than usual.
He wished he could explore this type of magic, but sadly with his flimsy score of 8 stars, he wasn't going anywhere with magic currently. Maybe he could make a mage friend and then have that mage friend explain magic to him in great detail. But that was a plan for a later day.
As he walked by he could hear people staring and whispering, he then proceed to try to block out the whispers from his mind, but a demon seemed to contradict his plan to her pleasure.
[What they are saying is, "there he is, with only a score of 8, what can he do with that…"
"Unfortunate kid, if he got at least above 10 then he could be more useful. But now, no one will ever except such a person with low potential"
"It looks like he is about to run away, good thing so that poor women doesn't have to deal with such a leech any longer"]
'Can you for one minute not be annoying or trying to aggravate my emotions'
[Nope, suffer!]
Lucras decided to walk faster out of the town, but every once in a while Ava would be so "kind" as to help him hear what people were whispering about. Even though it was a nuisance, he learned something interesting. People thought as soon as he left he would never come back. Did they think he would die that easily? He quickened his pace to prove those people wrong. When he came back, he would be the best swordsman, and then he would learn to be the best bowman ever.
He then races out of the town past the guards at the entrance who seemed to look at him with disdain. A horrible feeling welled up from inside of him, pressing on his chest, and causing him to lose his breath. He then rushed to get away from all of his feeling as he raced into the forest of FULL OF MONSTERS.
As he ran into the forest, he could see a low fog around the trees, making the whole place seem mysterious and slightly spooky. But in his emotional rush, Lucras ignored these things, as he just wanted to get away. Too much had happened, too many changing emotions that caused to much for him to process.
If he checked his status around now, he would have noticed a new effect on him, and was most likely linked to this onset of these turbulent emotions. If only he didn't go right at that moment, he would be fine, but sometimes that is life. Also if he checked his status carefully, he would also notice something new, a new category that popped up because of his circumstances.
As he raced into the forest with tunnel vision, he didn't even notice that the trees seemed to wrap around him. Closing him off from the outside world, as if this forest was alive. Bringing him deeper into the forest.
As he ran, he started to feel his low stamina stat, as he quickly got out of breath and started to wheeze with his sickly health. He then tripped on a root due to his carelessness and finally stopped running as he landed on his rear.
As he now started to calm down, he finally noticed distressing signs, like how he couldn't see the town and the claw marks on the trees. Low-hanging fog tried to give him anxiety and lead him deeper into the forest, but he calmed himself. He didn't think he went this far in, it had maybe been a minute since he reached the forest, and should have at least been able to see some signs of civilization. But all he found around him was an uncivilized forest full of danger.
He then heard a voice that gave him some relief, [Check your status]. Even though I was short, it gave him some stability, her soft sweet voice. After a few minutes just remembering that voice, he finally realized the message and checked.
