Chapter 20 - The Start Of A New School-Day

'It might be a good idea to un-summon you, Alexis. After all, we don't want anyone else trying to hurt you.' Archie suggested as he began walking again. "Yeah, you might be right. Remember that I'll still be floating around, so feel free to bring me back to reality whenever you want." Alexis said as Archie deactivated his Allied Forces skill. There was no visible change in Alexis' body except that they began flying. This was simply because of how their body was structured, being made entirely of shadow. Archie kept walking towards his school, following Jess' path.

Archie cracked his fingers as he walked, loosening his digits. "What's the purpose of you doing that, Archie?" Alexis asked as they floated in front of him. 'It makes them looser, allowing me to move them around better. I have to do it constantly to prevent them from locking up.' Archie answered Alexis as he turned a corner, seeing his school. 'Well, this is my school.' Archie told Alexis, who looked flew forward to inspect the building. Archie kept walking, waiting for Alexis to return to him. They flew back to Archie, many questions being asked at once. "How do you deal with being trapped in this large box for a day?" Alexis asked him in confusion.

'It's become a natural thing for people my age. It's meant to help teach people certain things about life, but in reality, it's geared towards those with systems. Those born without systems, such as me a few days ago, are discriminated against. If you don't have one, you are considered inferior. I'm not sure how I stack up against my classmates now, but simply having a system ascends you in the social hierarchy.' Archie explained, reaching the gate as he spoke. "How were you able to get a system? You make it seem like it's a birth gift." Alexis asked him as they floated overhead. 'It is. I managed to get into an accident that caused me to lose my voice and obtain this system. Strange things this book can do.' Archie responded, putting his school bag on the ground and pulling out a book. It was "The System Of Silence".

Archie lifted his school bag back onto his back as he continued walking, The System Of Silence in his right hand. "The System Of Silence? Are you telling me you read that book to gain your system?" Alexis questioned him in shock. 'Yup. That's exactly how it happened. I walked into an off-limits section of my nearest library and stumbled upon this book. If I had read a different book, which I was planning on doing before The System Of Silence called out to me, we wouldn't be having this conversation.' Archie replied, walking into the school with a smile on his face. "Honestly, that's just shocking. The other guy that I encountered must have read the same book." Alexis pondered, wondering how it could have happened. 'Yeah, he had to. Maybe that is the reason it was sent to the local library. He read it, got scared, and sent it away.' Archie theorized as he entered his classroom, sitting at his desk while placing the book on the table.

[Training Method Two: Body Enhancement Through Exercise]

[This method is what it sounds like. You have to train your body in the real world. Doing so will improve your stats. However, gaining status points will do the same. Gain enough status points in strength, and your body will be more defined. Nothing out of control, but you will become fitter. Any regular exercise or training regime will do, but remember that you should train every part of your body equally.]

'So, I can train my body, huh? This means that participating in classes like P.E will have an extra benefit, rather than just following my deal with the Principal.' Archie summarised in his head, Alexis looking at the book with a confused expression. "I can't read a single word of this book, but you seem to understand it. What is it telling you?" Alexis asked, forcing Archie to read it in his head so they could understand it too. Once he was done repeating himself, Alexis nodded their head up and down a few times. "I see, I see. Don't let me get in the way of your improvements. It's important to help you get stronger since I don't want you to die." Alexis said to Archie, who smiled slightly in response.

A familiar voice called his name from the doorway of the classroom. "Oi, Archie! Get over here!" The voice yelled at him. It was none other than Michael, with Johann standing behind him. Archie looked over at them, rolling his eyes as he stood up. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked, aggravating Michael. "Oh, you think you can just put your hands into your pockets, huh? Do you underestimate the sheer pain I'm going to put you through because of what you did yesterday?" Michael shouted as teachers walked past, almost as if nothing was happening.

"Hey, come on, Archie! Don't let these guys have the upper hand! Why don't you hit them to prove that you're not a pushover?" Alexis asked him, almost as if she was angry for Archie. 'I plan to fight back, Alexis. I need to see what these guys try to do first. It'll help me decide what I can do to humiliate them.' Archie explained to Alexis as he approached Michael, a smug expression on his face. "Oh, I'm going to LOVE beating the shit out of you!" Michael screamed as he coated his fist in flames, throwing a punch at Archie with his flaming hand.

For context, the average student's status total, if they were to have one, would be around 60 or 70. Archie's was 136. With 27 points in his agility alone, he would be a hard target to hit for his classmates.

Archie jumped backwards, dead-set on landing a punch to Michael's face. He sprang forward, moving over Michael's body, which had angled downwards due to the attack. Archie grabbed Michael's jumper, using it as an anchoring point to pull himself to the ground. As Archie's feet touched the ground, Archie used his remaining momentum to pull Michael over his head, flinging him into an opposing wall. Michael's body slapped off the concrete wall, landing him on the linoleum floor. Johann tried to sucker punch Archie in the back of the head, but Archie grabbed his hand, turning his head to face him. Johann looked Archie in the eyes, and for a brief moment, he thought he saw the eyes of a demon. Archie flung Johann, by his wrist, at Michael, who was on his knees, trying to stand up.

The school had gone silent as everyone stared at the two fallen children, a systemless child having beaten them. "Holy shit." One of the people in the gathered crowd muttered, and a whole cacophony of voices started whispering to each other, trying to figure out what had happened. Archie stood up and walked back into his classroom, sitting in his assigned seat and going back to reading his book. Michael and Johann were left in a heap beside the wall, the bell to signify the first class ringing. Everyone dispersed, wanting to make sure they weren't late for their classes.

Archie's first class was Physical Education. That's right, it was P.E time.
