Chapter 25 - Baggage Collection

Archie made his way to his base classroom, trying to remember what class was in session. He looked at one of the many analogue clocks lining the school's halls, telling him it was 12:35pm. He couldn't remember what class he had, even though he should. Alexis followed behind him, floating around thirty centimetres off the ground. "Hey, Archie. What was that all about?" Alexis asked him, having spectated him for the past while. 'Honestly, I couldn't tell you, even if I wanted to. It was like experiencing a Night Terror but less...scary.' Archie tried to explain, confusing Alexis. "Yeah, but what happened when that man tried to swing an imaginary sword at you?" Alexis pondered, trying to understand what had caused his hands to stop moving.

'It wasn't imaginary. It was created in my mind, almost like an illusion, but The Man Of Horror couldn't complete the swing for whatever reason.' Archie responded, placing his hand on his chin as he walked. His mouth had not moved an inch during the conversation. He saw people taking glimpses at him as he passed by some of the classroom's doors. Archie could only look at them inquisitively as he met some of their gazes. 'What the hell's their problem?' Archie asked himself, trying to figure out what had happened during his unconsciousness.

As he reached his base classroom, Archie realised he didn't have his bag on his back. He muttered a few curses in his head, heading off to the auditorium as he scowled, wondering what would happen to the contents of it should it be left alone. The Wordless Warrior, his book, was lying in his bag, and Archie could only hope that nobody else could read it. After all, he wasn't sure if anyone else had such things as SPEs.

He walked into the auditorium only to meet the gaze of Michael and Johann, sitting down on two wooden chairs, holding his bag in their hands, The Wordless Warrior in Michael's hand. "I have to say, Archie, you have some questionable taste in reading," Michael told Archie as he saw him enter the auditorium. "I wonder if anyone can even understand these symbols." Michael continued, tossing the book over to him, pretending it was a boomerang. The Wordless Warrior landed at Archie's feet, opening onto a random page. Archie didn't care to read its contents and instead picked it up, staring at Michael with a glare that could kill a demon.

"Calm down there, tiger." Johann mocked Archie. "We wouldn't want you to hurt your leg again." Johann reminded Archie, deriving a chuckle from both himself and Michael. "Aren't you going to say anything, Archie? Or what, are you too scared?" Michael further egged Archie on. Archie silently sighed, gently placing the book on the ground. He glanced up at Michael before sprinting at top speed towards Johann, who was unprepared since he anticipated an attack on Michael. Johann created a wind wall, around a metre thick, in front of his face to keep Archie away. Archie ran head-on into it, getting about halfway through it before flying backwards due to the force of the air.

Archie landed on the ground, rolling backwards until he jumped onto his feet, quickly changing targets to Michael. Archie had no idea where this sudden burst of skill came from, but he made a brief assumption that it was because of his system. Archie ran towards Michael, who threw a long line of flame towards Archie. Using his new agility, he leapt over the flamethrower-like attack, clearing the fire.

Archie landed behind Michael, and as Archie threw a punch towards the back of his head, Johann created a wind wall behind Michael. This sent Archie flying backwards, giving Michael enough time to run towards The Wordless Warrior, picking it up in his right hand with a smile. As Archie landed, he heard Michael calling his name, provoking him to look up, staring down the walking flamethrower. "You like this book? You seem to hold it dear despite the fact nobody can read it. How about you watch it burn?" Michael asked Archie while setting the book alight, using his fire manipulation abilities.

Archie stared at Michael as his eyes almost turned red from the sheer amount of anger that Michael was bringing to him. Johann laughed at Archie from a distance, watching as Archie stared at Michael with the intent of killing him. Archie felt an unnatural anger build up inside him, and all he wanted to do was grab that book from Michael's hand. It didn't matter how he did it. 'Alexis, I need you to give me a strength boost.' Archie told Alexis as they fell from the air, landing on two feet. Simply seeing this, Michael and Johann looked at each other in confusion. "As you wish," Alexis responded, creating their signature book out of thin air and reciting a passage from it.

[Current Status: ENRAGED]

"For one that wishes for strength, the end is near for those who oppose. It is power from the gods, which I am the one who bestows."

Archie felt an unnatural power course through his body, and for a brief moment, he felt like he could kill anyone with a single punch. It was almost enough to make his hair fall out. Archie concentrated his anger on his legs, and with a single push of his feet, he flew forward, becoming invisible to the human eye for one second. His fist connected with Michael's face, and both flew towards the nearest wall. Archie landed feet-first on the wall while Michael landed head-first. Archie then propelled himself towards Johann, who had the foresight to create a wind wall between them. However, Johann couldn't predict the sheer speed Archie was going at.

Archie burst through Johann's wind wall, slamming his fist right into Johann's chest, landing on the ground as he watched Johann fly into the opposite wall to Michael. Archie then walked over to The Wordless Warrior, noticing that none of the pages had been burned. 'Oh, thank God.' Archie said to himself as he grabbed the book, waving it up and down to extinguish the flames. As soon as the fire died, Archie noticed no changes to the book's cover. With a relieved expression, he grabbed his bag and walked out of the auditorium, leaving Michael and Johann in there. Alexis returned to their intangible and invisible form, Archie disabling his Allied Forces skill.

[Congratulations, Wordless Warrior! You've Obtained A New Skill!]

[Pre-requisite: Obtain A Strength Buff While In An ENRAGED State.]

[Reward: Silent Speedstep LV1]

[Silent Speedstep LV1: The Wordless Warrior places considerable strength into their legs, allowing them to move at speeds comparable to four times their usual limits. This move uses two times the stamina required to sprint at their original maximum speed, so when used, it is recommended that you move as fast as possible.]
