I am Moby Grandar, a noble born in the family of Grandar, one of the most prominent nobles in the entire Kingdom.
Being born into a prominent family must have been the desire of most of the people. Because they thought that if one was born into that family, they would have a happy life until they die.
Well, for some points, it is right, however, it only include those with recognizable talents.
My father, Howard Grandar, the Lord of the city of Venan is a very cold person to those that he thinks is unworthy. He has 3 children, and of those 3, I am the least talented. Knowing this, my father neglected and ignored me as if I were not his own child.
While my siblings were taken care of with full support, I, on the other hand, grew up alone with no one watching.
At first I was always crying in my room in sadness thinking that no one loved or even cared about me, until I left the house. I wandered around city and stumbled into a back alley.
There, I met so many different people and experienced many things. And there also, I was able to show my fighting talent.
Within 2 years after discovering that place, I became the strongest among my peers living there, no one dared to look me straight in the eye, and eventually become the 'Boss'.
Being the back alley boss is my greatest achievement, so I want to protect it even if it costs my life. I will fight everyone and defeat them.
As long as I'm here using my 'Fist of Judgement', no one can beat me, is what I always thought, until some random bastard suddenly appeared without warning.
The bastard I thought was fighting me with all his might, was actually just playing with me from the start.
I never knew this until I saw his eyes when he was about to hit me with his 'Death Fist'. I was horrified by his eyes looking at me as if I were just a toy. A toy that he can break whenever he wants.
'However, I will not gonna back down. I'll make sure he pays for this humiliation twofold.'
"Mob...."
'Huh? Who's calling me?'
"Mo.... Moby..."
When Moby opened his eyes, he saw the worried face of one of his subordinates.
"Joward?! Why am I...?"
'Oh right, I was knocked out by that rascal.'
"Where is that bastard go?!" Moby asked furiously while resting his head on Joward's lap.
"H-he went to the World Library...?"
Moby sat up and smiled evilly before saying,
"If he went there, then it only means that he also dreams of becoming a mage. Too bad, you messed with the wrong person."
*****
After knocking Moby out, Jin turned to Moby's biggest subordinates and asked about the location of the World library branch.
"World Library. Where? Me. Looking."
"Y-you don't need to talk like that, we can understand you." Comments of the smallest behind.
"I-it's in the northeast of the city." He said in a trembling voice.
"Is that so? Thank you." Without showing any doubt, Jin believed what he said and even thanked him. Soon, he started to walk. But after taking a few steps, he stopped as he remembered something.
"Why did he stop?"
"Because of you. Why did you lie to him about the location? Now face him, aren't you the vice leader?"
"Yes, that's right."
The two looked at their vice leader and pushed him towards Jin who walked back while emitting a terrifying aura.
"W-what? Wait...!"
They were so scared that they were sweating profusely. Their knees trembled when they saw the boy who knocked out their leader walking back while acting like he was going to bite them.
They thought he figured out that they were lying and was on his way to snap their necks.
"We're going to die."
"I know..." They said while taking a few steps backwards.
Once Jin came back, he patted the vice leader's shoulder and looked him straight in the eyes.
"Hieeek-! N-it's in the Southwest."
"?... What's in the Southwest?" Jin normally asked as he wondered.
Although Jin was acting as normal as ever, they misunderstood him as a psychopath because of his cold eyes and his naturally menacing aura.
"T-the World Library branch."
"..." For a few seconds, he looked at him intently before saying, "So there are two branches here?"
When he heard that, the vice leader fell into great disappointment and indifferently spoke,
"No, just one. I lied the first time. But this time it's true."
"Oh. Anyway, I've been willing to ask, do you have a map of the city?"
"Hey, Trey. Show him where he can buy a map of the city."
"Eh? Why me? I don't want to."
"Are you disobeying your vice leader's orders now?" He said in an angry voice while looking at him with a threatening look.
He turned to Jin again and said, "Just follow him, he will guide you to a shop that sells maps."
"Oh! Thanks. You guys are such a huge help." After saying those, the two went to a shop and bought a map.
As Jin finally solved his own problem, he wasted no time and headed straight to the World Library branch.
"Whoa!" Jin's first words after arriving in front of the branch. The World library branch was not normal like a simple library, the branch in Venan city was a big and tall tree standing next to no building in a radius of 200 meters while surrounded by a big fence and guards. It has a grand sign board and a warp in the trunk.
"So this is the World library. One of my stepping stone to achieve my revenge."
Jin took a forced breath and spoke before entering, "Well the, let's get registered."
As its name suggests, the library is large. Its interior is about the size of a combination of 20 soccer fields, a ceiling as high as the sky and a chandelier as bright as the sun. It's so spacious that, even when you walk in, you wouldn't really feel like you're inside a room if it weren't for the thousands of bookshelves arranged here and there.
Because of the upcoming ceremony, most of the people inside were his age.
'Despite so many people, it's very quiet.'
After Jin entered, he went straight to the reception desk just a few meters before the entrance after a few glances in the surroundings.
"Are you here to register for the Scroll Distribution ceremony?!" The receptionist asked as soon as Jin arrived at the reception desk.
"Yes."
After he answered, the receptionist smiled at him before taking a piece of paper from under her desk.
She handed the paper to Jin and gave him some time to read the contents.
After staring at the paper for a few seconds, Jin handed it back to the receptionist.
"Have you finished reading everything, sir?"
"..."
Jin nodded in agreement. But the truth is, he doesn't understand anything. Well, what do you expect for the man who spent his life hunting in the forest? But even so, he just trusted his guts and hoped that nothing bad would happen.
'Well, it doesn't really matter. I think it's just about the fee and something.'
The receptionist looked at him suspiciously as she asked about his information.
"Name, Jin... From the Village of Normin... and...
After writing all his answers, the receptionist read them to double check if everything was correct.
When Jin confirmed everything, he immediately took out a bag of money from his pocket.
*Clink, clink, clink-!*
The sound of the coins echoed throughout the quiet place and disturbed everyone inside. They all stopped what they were doing and looked at the young man scornfully.
Of all the people inside, not only was Jin the only one who looked so destitute, he was also the only one who brought a coin as the registration fee.
He opened the pouch and spread all its contents on the desk and added much more noise inside. Even though their gazes were sharp, Jin didn't care and just focused on his business.
He started counting.
"10.... 20...."
"Uhm- Sir. You don't need to do that."
"No, what if there is a shortage?"
"It's okay."
Jin insisted and continued counting. After an hour, Jin finished.
"3000. Whuuu~! Good thing it hit." He said with joy in his voice before looking at the receptionist.
Although it was Jin who counted, it was the receptionist who got tired. She looks very tired and doesn't care anymore. She accepted the registration fee and hoped that the young man would disappear.
Jin wiped the sweat dripping from his forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's a bit tiring, isn't it? Then, I'll take my leave now." He said before turning to leave.
