"Calm down, calm down... There is a residential area in this underground base, which means that the designer intended to live there for a long time, or simply have the function of a residence..."
"If you're going to stay for a long time, then the purpose of this base... There must be a purpose!"
"What is the purpose? What is the purpose? No, it doesn't matter what the purpose is, it matters what the structure is!"
"A base that needs to house hundreds of men, he's going to be well protected. If this portal is attacked..."
In his panic, Alan's mind was working at full speed, trying to think of a way out.
The entrance was completely blocked off. The door was probably full of Tumen's army at the news, and this underground. I don't know where there's a bunch of voracious sellswords out there! And this time without the protection of the Deco family, the young Arcane was left to fend for himself. Oh, no, for himself!
In a flash of inspiration, the younger Rodel realized something: the base had been built twenty years earlier, when Levitsk was still a united country, and too powerful to remain unresponsive to such a big move by the foreigners! To build a Bacterial-spirit base, we must consider human actions, possible expulsion, even attack and annihilation!
Concealment is the primary condition, after the completion of the construction must be prepared for defense facilities, and evacuation measures!
"There must be another entrance or exit to this base, or if this entrance is blocked, the whole base will be sitting ducks. This base must have been designed with two or more exits!"
"And once an entrance is attacked, the enemy must be all around, then the exit, must be deeper, only in this way can buy time to escape, this is safe!"
After a brief panic, Alan's big heart soon returned to normal. With his thoughts in order, Alan's goal now became clear: to find other entrances and exits, to avoid the unknown Sellsword and the remaining Tumen warriors, and to get out of this damned dungeon as quickly as possible!
And if all else fails...
"Then do what the fuck!"
If you can't find it, what else can you do? We'll have to take the sellsword supplies! Of course, Alan did not want to go to this stage, the risk was too high, the enemy was outnumbered, and if the time came when he was unfought and subdued, the young Rodel would suffer. Even a skin cramp is mild!
The other end of the junction was completely blocked by gravel, and the beds of germs were still seeping down. Who knew when they would spread and Alan would not have to worry about what was in them.
Surrounding it is a living area, the least tactically important part of the base. In contrast to human architecture, such a place always has a preliminary defense, and is responsible for communicating with the lower layers of the base, and such a place can usually find the map of the whole base, or half the map of the base. Unless mushrooms all communicate telepathically, such a room must exist! There might even be a weapons room, a place to find supplies!
The only problem is, after all these years, I don't know if a room like this still has the original function. The power supply has definitely been cut off, and Alan may have to find it himself if you don't believe him. He has some crystal diamonds on hand, and if he is optimistic, Alan should be able to convert.
Touching the wall, Alan made his way through the darkness. The road collapsed, and there was no air communication between the inside and outside of the base. Alan only dared to pinch a small spark in his hand, so that he could probably see around him without hitting the wall. Beyond that, he could see nothing.
The row of bedrooms and lounges soon reached the end, with two doors, one to the left and one to the right, behind a large, broken iron gate. Alan cut through the rusty iron door with a bacteria knife. The door on the left was blocked by the debris inside. The door was made of specially made metal, and Alan's bacteria knife had no effect at all. Abandoned for more than 20 years, cut down, even a mark did not show how strict the defense is! On the other side, the door was ajar, with a slight push and the sound of the metal mechanism snapping. It felt as if the door panel could be removed with a slight push. When I opened the door, there were no cobwebs behind it. Instead, there were myriads of mycelium pulling at the walls and cracks in the door, making it very difficult for Alan to push and pull. The old air is also filled with a smell of mildew, and I do not know where Mycelin's base from the mold.
As Alan had expected, the back of the room would be the upper control room of the base, but the equipment was covered with layers of mycelium. Some of the mycelium had even grown into the inside of the equipment, destroying the structure, and could no longer be used.
There were dozens of consoles in the room, and Alan tried them one by one. None of them responded, whether because there was no power or because the machines were old and unusable. Alan opened the cover of the whole instrument with his bacteria-liquid knife and found that the inside of the machine had been seriously eroded by mycelium. The rack and pink and Arcane rune had been smoothed by mycelium and the graphics had been erased. Only when such alchemical instruments could work could they have problems!
At last he found a console with less mycelium, and when he pulled the white mycelium apart, Alan saw a few buttons on the surface. Next to the button, there's an empty slot, which should be something like an emergency energy input.
"Is the power in the diamond usable?" Alan muttered as he took a small diamond from his breast and set it in the groove to see if it would work.
Then there was a loud rumble from the huge console and a flickering blue light on the surface. It seemed possible to use the diamond as a power source, but the noise was so loud that the blue light was so erratic that it felt as if it would suddenly cut off at some point.
He inserted the diamond's grooves and quickly killed the diamond, rebounding into the console with a loud rumble. Then a hologram popped up above the console, but it was full of germinal words, none of which Alan could understand.
"What is this? What is this?! No, not this... HMM... ?" After a lot of slapping, Alan actually pulled up a holographic map by accident! After all this time, the young Arcane master was able to see the base for the first time, albeit only half veiled.
Three layers!
Two and a half floors, to be exact, for the third floor shows only a long corridor, and the second half is a blur, with nothing visible. The second floor of the ground was an axisymmetric structure, the exact function of which was marked in Bacterialese, Alan could not understand, but it seemed to have been used as a buffer zone during the war. Each of the floors was connected by a staircase, and Alan had just entered it in the middle of the ground floor, and the cave-in had the good fortune not to block his way to the staircase.
"Sure enough, where there is no core access, you can only see a little bit." Alan groaned that he had not been able to find out directly where the other exits were, but the result was not surprising. If a console on the outside of the base had been able to get a complete map of the whole base, it would have been very embarrassing for the enemy to see.
At least Alan would not be running around like a chicken with its head cut off any time soon. He would probably know how far away the opening was and how long it would take him to get there. And to get deeper, he had to go through a corridor three stories underground!
Scanning the holograms back and forth, Ellen tried to engrave the stereogram in her mind, for it was her greatest source of survival in the underground base. After repeating that he could remember most of the details of the picture, Alan was ready to retrieve the diamond and head deeper. There was not much time left for him. When the air ran out, or when the food and water ran out, he would be embarrassed!
However, after repeatedly tapping the "exit" button, the console did not respond at all.
"Are you kidding me?" Alan kicked the instrument, and the consequences of that kick made things worse. The unstable alchemical instruments, under the force of this foot, let out a direct whine, and with a click, the roar stopped abruptly!
"Yes, it will, won't it? There was a crisp crack, like a diamond being squashed, and Alan had no scruple at all. He pried open the casing with the liquid knife and took apart the broken machine to see what was going on inside. As expected, the old machine had a problem, and it had jammed Alan's diamond. I don't care if I'm stuck! I'm noose back and forth! Although the diamond strength is strong, but can not withstand this kind of damage, Alan's foot is even worse, the diamond was kicked into countless pieces!
How about that? There's no getting it back!
"Can't you mushrooms make anything? Yeah, yeah, one, dot!" Knowing that no one would hear his curse, Alan could not restrain himself from swearing. This is a gem diamond! Alan only had seven dollars in all, including what Abel gave him, and now that's it. It's gone.
Fighting back his bleeding heart, Alan opened the door to the control room and prepared to search for the stairway marked on the map to go deeper into the base. At this point, he desperately wants to meet a lone mercenary or two. Why? Give me a beating!
I can't tell you how humbled I am as a human Arcane who has been separated by the mushrooms of the North for twenty years! Why don't you beat someone up and blow off steam?!
Just once, never more! Just mean it!
