I'm sitting at the table at the cafe with Rena, Hanako, Hiro, and Amber. After Rena was done talking with Hana, we go to the cafe to hang out before going back to the hotel. In front of each of us are drinks that we order and everyone has their own choice of drink from ice cream soda, beer, juice, etc. We're just talking and hanging around, doing nothing in particular when suddenly Erika calls me.
"Hello Erika, how it's going? Do you have fun at her house?" I pick it up and ask about her day stay at Ayaka's house with her best friend, Rina. She's currently staying at Ayaka's house because as you can see, I'm not at home and she'll be alone if she stays home. So, she suggested staying at her best friend's house until I'm back which will make me less worried for her safety. Ayaka is there too, so I don't have to worry about the food.
"Yeah, it's been great. Ayaka-nee san is currently making dinner right now and Rina and I are watching a show on the television after we were done with the homework. How about you, big bro? Did you get any new girls? I'm sure there are plenty of them there. Does someone catch your eye?" She's teasing me. Hey, I'm not someone who does something like that, okay? Fortunately for us both, I don't put the call on speaker mode, so no one can hear that.
"*Fake laugh*, you know how to make a joke, huh, Erika? Anyway, I'm doing well here, I met Rena and people who are the same as me too. You know, all that stuff. I'll be back maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I don't know yet. And, hey, send my regards to them, okay?" I don't know yet when I'm gonna be back because tomorrow is the last day of my invitation but the convention is still going until three days later. If I want, I can stay here a bit longer but we'll see.
"Okay, I'll tell them, later. I- Huh? What, you want to talk with him? ...Why? *Sigh* Be quick, we don't have much time left. Big bro, Rina-chan wants to talk to you. Be prepare. Here you go." *She hands over the phone* Huh? What do you mean by 'be prepared'? And why she wants to talk? Everyone is looking at me, curious about what happened.
"Uhm, h-hi, Kai-nii san! Long time no see... or not, we're not actually seeing each other, t-this is just a voice call, not a video call. Haha-ha, I-I'm acting silly, right? I'm sorry!" *Erika's trying to take the phone back* "Okay, that's enough. You're wasting his time. Give me back my phone." And... they start fighting, I can hear the sound of struggle and everything. Are you guys, okay?
"Guh, uh, a-anyway, big bro, I'll be waiting for you to come back. Bye. Stay down, Rina-chan!" *Poof* She ends the call. ... ...I don't what happen there but sounds pretty intense. I guess they're having fun. I put my phone on the table.
"Is that, Erika-chan, Kai?" Rena asks. She has met her before, not in real life but through a video call a week after Erika was discharged from the hospital after she was beaten up by Sebastian's people. She met her to apologize as she thought that she is the cause of what happened to her.
"Yes, she's calling me to ask how's it going here. I told her that it was fine and you were here too."
"Hmph! Why didn't you let me talk with her? Am I not that matter?" She's sulking. Not just her but Hanako also asks the same question. Add to that, Amber asks who was I talking to on the phone and now, I have to deal with them, again. *Sigh* They're so nosy.
At Ayaka's house...
"Stay down, Rina-chan! You were just wasting his time. If you really want to talk with him, speak properly. Not act like a doofus." Rena tells Rina. Currently, she's holding Rina down on the sofa to prevent her from acting crazy after the call with Kai. Ayaka is still in the kitchen, preparing dinner for them.
"Why're you hanging up!? I still want to talk!" Rina rebellious. She has a really huge crush on Kai since the day he saved her life from being hit by the truck. Kai and Erika know about this and planning to change that with their own plan.
"Kids, dinner is ready! Rina, can you help me prepare the table, please? And Erika-chan, you can help too if you want." Ayaka is done with the food and tells them to prepare the table. They ignore the fight, they get up and help her. Then, they're having dinner together.
The clock shows the time, 9.30 pm. They've done with dinner, washing the dishes together to accelerate the process, and they go to the living room together. You can think of this as girls' time as they are no men and no work. They're having fun by playing board games, talking, laughing, etc. You know, girls' time.
11 pm, time to sleep. They pack up the board games, drinks, food, and some other things. After finishing the cleaning, they go to bed because it's time to sleep. They go to their own room, Rina to her room, Ayaka's same, and Erika, because she is a guest, she'll sleep in the guest room on the ground floor while the other two are on the second floor.
Before they go in, they say goodnight to each other. They need to sleep early because they have to go to school tomorrow while Ayaka has to work. It's a bit late but who cares. They're in their own room, getting prepared to sleep by changing into more comfortable clothes. Erika and Rina are wearing pajamas while Ayaka's wearing a black nightgown. She's an adult, she can wear whatever she wants.
12 pm, a sound came from the kitchen. Everyone is sleeping, they don't notice the sound but not Erika as the guest room is on the ground floor and it's close to the kitchen. She wakes up from the sound coming from the kitchen. She feels weird, why is there a sound in the kitchen? Is Ayaka or Rina waking up?
She doesn't know if that's true or not but she has to be prepared in case a thief break-in and steals valuable items in the house. She grabs a stun gun from her bag, given by Kai when there were in Tokyo. She still has it and she's not afraid to use it. She slowly opens the door and fortunately for her, the door doesn't make any squeaky noise.
She can't see in the dark but she can see a light coming from the kitchen, probably from the open fridge. So, she follows the light, sneakily crouching down to reduce the noise of her steps. She arrives and the noise becomes louder, it's like a person rummaging through the fridge, looking for food. The person's voice sounds like a man, so Ayaka and Rina are out of the list and there is only one thing that it means here, someone breaks into the house. A thief.
She walks and uses the counter as a wall to hide from the thief. She looks at the edge and sees a man rummaging through the fridge and eating the food. He eats like a hungry person but she notices something besides him. A bag. An open bag is sitting next to him, leaning on the cabinet. The bag looks full of something, probably the stolen items.
After confirming that the man is a thief and guilty of stealing. She walks near him, points the stun gun at him, and shoots. *Agaggagahaghhs* The thief is stunned and floundering on the floor until he passes out. The sounds he makes wake up Ayaka and Rina from their sleep. They're rushing to the kitchen to see what happen.
"Oh God! Erika-chan, are you okay!? And who is this man!?" Ayaka asks in concern. Rina is also concerned for her but she is more scared of the thief. Probably scared that if he suddenly woke up.
"I'm okay, Ayaka-nee san. The man who's passed out on the floor is the thief who broke into the house and stole items. After he took everything he wants, he ate the food in the fridge. I don't know how idiot he is to not quickly escape the house after he's done stealing." She's mocking him for his stupidity.
Ayaka calls the police while Erika searches the body to find anything that gives off the identity of the thief. Rina is taking back the items that he's stolen. She's searching his body but finds nothing, not even a wallet. The only thing that she finds is a tattoo on his upper arm and it looks weird.
The tattoo is a circle with the number one inside it. 'What tattoo is this? It looks so plain and lame. Is he has no taste in a tattoo?' She thought to herself while still insulting him. That symbol... is not any ordinary tattoo. It is a symbol of a dangerous group in the city. The man here is acting by himself without his leader's permission. After he's caught by the police, the news will surely reach his leader's ears and he will not be happy about it.
The police arrive and take the thief to the police station. They need to follow them too to do some paperwork regarding the break-in. Especially Erika as she was the one who knock down the thief by herself.
A similar event will happen anytime soon. More and more of them will come and Kai has to deal with them. Maybe he has some kind of connection with them? We'll see.
