Jason was a typical guy, he liked to play video games, had no job because he was a whack ass and when he was twenty years old, a truck decided that he had breathed enough.
With a few flips and sploshes, Jason was no more, dying simply and easily without even seeing it coming, certainly not living up to his name.
Instantly, he found himself just laying in grass, his body intact and as below average as ever, did this count as reincarnation? Jason wouldn't know and he didn't even realise he had been hit by truck driving at 130 kmh while fully loaded, in a descent.
He had died instantly, so for him, it just looked like he got teleported to some rural area, even if he had never actually seen a rural area, the air was so pure he almost started choking on it, quality felt poisonous to the unprepared lungs.
He thought himself to be in a forest and the confusion was overpowering his panic, allowing him to not start screaming like a baby after it shat it itself with the strength of a thousand constipated elephants.
Jason walked around for approximately ten seconds before coming face to face with someone.
Or at least, what appeared to be someone wearing a long coat and with a s grey face, although Jason didn't think much of it and just called out to that person.
They turned around, revealing that they were wearing a rock as a face or mask, Jason didn't know, that person then just sprouted bat-like wings and flew off, leaving the starstruck young man behind as he failed to comprehend whether he had really just seen this or not.
People don't just sprout wings and fly away, they might wear stone mask, but certainly not have access to flight.
That was simply scientifically impossible! The human body can't support flight even with wings, Jason was certain of that even with a lack of knowledge on the subject of flying people.
Feeling absolutely horrified, Jason wanted to turn and run but someone else was in his way, someone that looked a bit more normal at least.
Although, he was quite certain that eyes of such a purple shade didn't exist, any kind of purple wasn't supposed to be in eyes for that matter.
The man then smiled, revealing a set of very pointy teeth, now that was definitely not normal, not as much as wings but close.
"You seem lost, may I help you?" asked the man, Jason understood what he said after a moment, despite not actually having a clue what was being told to him at first.
He felt shivers running through his body as he raised his hands and started backing off.
The man stepped forward, getting over a slight rise in terrain.
Jason winged and recoiled as he noticed the height difference between them.
Seeing how apprehensive Jason was, the man didn't even try any further and just moved forward, appearing and grabbing the young man's face before he could even sweat another drop.
"Now, what could I call you? You are lacking for the purpose I had in mind of for a natural unwanted..." wondered the man as he tilted his head whilst Jason was trying to say something but couldn't begin to make a coherent sound.
"Why not be exceedingly simple today? Your name is Jason, so you'll be Jason" concluded the man.
'Where does he even know my name from?!' questioned Jason in his mind as he felt himself drifting to a far away land.
The very next moment he remembers was of himself, strapped to what felt very much like an operating table.
'Am I starring in a snuff movie?' that was what he believed, his organs weren't valuable enough for certain but he also doubted many people would be willing to pay to see him of all people get butchered alive.
"You have a very low self esteem Jason, but don't worry, you won't be thinking of yourself as lowly for long, you won't be thinking much to be honest" he heard the voice of the man as he approached from the side, shining a large light into his face.
"Honestly, you are quite special, in the wrong sense of the word, you lack many benefits that unwanteds usually have, that makes you quite interesting but ultimately, an inferior subject" admitted the man but Jason didn't understand a word he was saying, he was more focused on the many figures that showed all around him.
"We're going to have to replace a lot of stuff, bones, muscles, organs, tweak your brain, injections, I hope you are ready for everything! We don't use any anesthetics" Jason was informed of his impending doom without being able to do as much as scream, he said they didn't have any anesthetics but they certainly had what was needed to paralyse him.
"Let's first remove your skin, contrary to popular belief, being skinned alive isn't immediately lethal if done well enough, I learned this for an executioner, I don't know how your world is but I can guarantee that you would love to see him in action, a real professional that one" in the middle of his sentence him and his many assistant began slashing his body.
"You see, it is traditional to first heat up the body of the victim, leaving them in the sun or boiling them can help, here we use those big lights, they are made with mana crystals of a very specific element, I wanted to use sun magic at first but getting those into crystals and then using them is such a bother and actually quite ineficient, so I just crossed heat and light" the man was certainly aiming to distract Jason from the excruciating pain or perhaps he was just talking for the sake of it, since Jason was clearly hearing none of it.
Despite what he went through, having his layers of skin, muscles and bones replaced along his organs, except for his brain, instead it was simply operated upon and some markings were put on it, sigils and magic circles.
"Well then Jason, want to go for a little stroll outside?" spoke Theli as looked at Jason standing up after being dressed up, Theli was a man that didn't want to waste much things, except when he did, so he made sure to make use of rule magic and such to make his attire necessary for some little boosts.
"Zero" responded Jason in a gravely tone, he was much like of he looked before, at least outwardly but that was deemed to change as he killed more.
"Yes Jason, zero, that isn't very good, you gotta pump those numbers up!"
