"Why do I have to come too?" softly spoke Envy, her eyes hidden behind her bangs.
"You're the one that agreed and it will be great, I can just feel that I'll hit the jackpot, the military of Laparadis, those that are so close to the royal residence, they are probably covered in pharaonic amounts of riches, gold medals and such!" rambled the dried up corpse that was Greed as she led the walk.
"I am not exactly interested in money though..." Envy fidgeted with her fingers as she spoke.
The strange looking duo was walking through spacious woods as if they were sightseeing.
"Good, I wasn't planning on sharing anyways!" bluntly responded Greed.
Envy just stared at her back for a few seconds before changing subject, slightly rubbing the bangs in front of her eyes as she spoke.
"We just need to get Lukewarmness right? Wasn't he supposed to keep the general of the interior still? We might run into him and I heard he is quite strong..."
"Don't worry pointy ears, there are two of us and I don't think he is as strong as you seem to think, it's all subjective stuff anyways, Pride keeps calling people she buried into the ground in one hit strong, it's all about the average" surprising Envy, Greed actually spoke sensible stuff that had nothing to do with money or riches.
"Oh hold on, I feel lots of life sources, they are watching over the jar boy for us!"
'For us huh?' repeated Envy in her head at the notice of her fellow sin use of words.
"Alright do your thing! Show me what you can do!" uttered Greed with her very expressive face as she walked up to behind Envy and tapped her back.
"Fine..."
Greed watched Envy manifested a bow out of nowhere and elegnatly pulled on the string.
"You use a bow? That's pretty cliche for an elf" she commented from the back.
"Why do you sound so disappointed?! It's not my fault, I learned archery way back and also..." her voice grew quieter as her sentence progressed, despite the fact that her hair was definitely covering her vision, she let go of the string as an arrow that had never been put on the bow was shot out.
Going right through the terrain and obstacles, leaving an almost imperceptible in them as it made its way toward its target.
The target in question- The so-called replacement of Mylhart that had been put in charge of the surveillance of the sin about a week ago now.
The arrow went right though one ear and straight out of the other, the replacement fell over like a stringless puppet as he didn't even realise something had hit him.
"Damn, that was clean, his life force his still acting like normal, he really didn't register his death at all..." remarked Greed with an exaggerated toothless smile.
In swift succession, before anyone could understand why they were falling like flies, Envy shot arrows after arrows, each in the exact same way as the first one.
"I think that's done... Do you sense anyone else?" asked Envy, believing that Greed had better senses than her to detect any left over.
"Nope but I think some people are coming this way"
"Huh? I don't think any of them managed to contact for help" the bow vanished in a cloud of particles before Envy turned to the other sin.
"Well, one is running and the other is making some pretty impressives long distance jumps, they can probably detect us, let's get our jar before hell let loose"
The two of them walked up to the lesser sin, Greed picked him up, took a good look at the cracked jar exterior, raised an eyebrow that she definitely didn't have and seemingly unhinged her jaw like a snake as she swallowed the poor jar boy completely.
"Yup, he's considered as an item, I can store him no problem" she spoke as Envy looked at her with the most horrified expression she was capable of.
Thankfully, to distract her from the grotestque thing that just happened, people arrived to try and kill them, a much more welcoming alternative.
'I wasn't expecting this...' thought Mylhart, he had been expecting one or two lesser sins at most if not just a basic grunt to come get this jar thing but clearly, those two weren't lesser sins at all.
'If they are, things will be grim...' he thought but he didn't falter, when the enemy was right in front of you, one could only either fight or flee and he doubted running would work.
He felt those soldiers life be extinguished in an instant a few moments ago, one of those two was quick to attack and probably from a distance it seemed.
"Those two feel like actual sins, they have the same vibe as Pride" remarked the other person present to the general.
"Really? Now, I know the arrangements aren't quite made but would you mind helping me with those two, Wrath Of The Gods?" asked the general, by a stroke of luck that was really due to some suicidal fanatics, Heilig reached out Laparadis to have one of their champion do some observation of the situation.
It was only so that the suicidal fanatics would stop using themselves as cannon fodder but it was still better than nothing and to make sure they wouldn't have anything to say.
The Heiligian king sent the, arguably, strongest and most respected of their champions, the priestess, Wrath Of The Gods.
"That's way too long, just call me Idil" said the priestess as she chopped the air with her hand, sending forth a blinding wave golden flames at the two sins.
Liquid gold seeped from Greed sleeves as it solidified into a pyramid shaped wall whose top was aimed at the priestess, splitting and diverting the flames away from her.
"Oh my, she just threw some sort of mix between fire, life and holy at me, she is truly trying to melt my poor undead self!" spoke Greed with a laugh as she sent her accumulated dust behind her, blinding the general that had made his way behind her.
"This could get troublesome, I can't get offed before the underlings, that would be disgracious, can you get us out of here Envy?" Greed flipped a coin that had suddenly appeared in the air before it homed in on the general in the cloud of thick and suffocating dust.
"I only have something for myself" responded the elf as she summoned her bow back, shooting an arrow in the air that multiplied intensely, raining arrows everywhere but where the two sins stood.
"Do it then, get the attention of the priestess will ya?" said Greed as she released more dust, disappearing amongst it.
Seeing the shape of the dried up sin forming in the dust and coming toward him, the general thrusted his saber at her chest, he didn't know what kind of undead she was but he could guess that going for the head wouldn't cut it with a sin, so he hoped to get some sort phylactery and if not, at least get her still for moment so that he could cleave her in half.
His blade went forward, piercing through the shape but it didn't feel like a corpse, getting close to it, he saw that it was nothing but a golden duplicate, it tried to punch him but the figure was too weak to be a threat.
He easily sliced it to pieces as it turned into liquid and flew into multiple directions.
Breathing in the dust was hard, if he was to breath in too much of it, he could guess that it wouldn't end kindly for him, at least, he could guess that this one sin wasn't very much of close quarter fighter.
He noticed the other's presence suddenly move further in an instant and Idil was kept into an exchange with that one, it was strange, he could sense outside the dust perfectly but not inside, this dust had peculiar properties.
He held his breath as he placed his knee on the ground, if his senses wouldn't detect things like presence or killing intent, he would rely on his bioligical senses.
He stood back up, the sin didn't seem willing to attack again, had she gone away? That didn't seem likely to Mylhart so instead, he concentrated his focus onto his right foot and raise it, stomping it onto the ground, it created a powerful gust of wind, pushing away the dust and revealing the position of the sneaky sin.
"Huh?" Mylhart squinted his eyes as he saw her quickly pulling back after snatching his medals, she had been immersed in the dust, making one with it so deeply that he hadn't noticed her when she was so close.
He instantly sent a blade of wind flying at her but she simply raised another wall of gold, raising one after the other, creating a true mess of a labyrinth.
Still, without the dust everywhere, finding her was incredibly easy, he ran through the maze of gold and rushed toward her, preparing to slash her to pieces to make sure she wouldn't move.
As his blade neared cutting off her neck first, she suddenly opened her mouth wide, pushing out the wretched jar out and his saber suddenly crumbled away before being able to fully cut her head off, only going halfway through, the blade had failed.
Without resistance, his arm still followed the movement and was flung to the side, taken by surprise and destabilised, Greed pulled a coin from her sleeve and flung it into his stomach, making it wreck havoc inside before taking it back.
She only did so because she had to focus on blocking a spear and holy and lively flames thrown at her.
Pretty certain that the priestess wouln't give chase with someone gravely injured behind, Greed recalled the gold she used to raise walls as well as the dust scattered everywhere while also swallowing the jar back.
Pulling herself away with some sort of gold whip, Idil did in fact, not pursue her and instead, after making sure both of the sins weren't threats any longer, started giving healing to the general.
"Good lords, I can't let him die after I just got there, what would Heilig look like?" she muttered, had she managed to hit that undead one straight on, she was certain she could have seriously messed her up.
'He won't die but he won't be alright either...' she thought, sighing in defeat.
