Chapter 78 - Gregory

Gregory had done his very best to grow strong enough so as to be able to fight of the dangerous woman he had encountered.

Not everyone's best was enough however and his had not nearly been, just like the first time, he had been unable to harm at all, not that he couldn't attack her, he simply didn't have enough power to ward her off.

He had lost consciousness and woken up inside of a cave, everything was still clear in his mind and this memory would never get any vaguer than now, it was branded within his psyche with a hot-iron.

His naked and battered body was dragged through mud as heavy rain befell all around, drowning all sounds except for the thunder that sometimes resounded throughout the area, shining a light on Gregory's miserable situation.

Apart from mud, he was covered in dried blood, most of which wasn't his own but that of his late teammates.

Suddenly, everything stopped as his subjugator seemed to have found what she had been heading toward this whole time.

She let go of his hair, letting his face crash into the soft mud as she repositioned herself before lifting his head again, showing him clearly what was in front of them.

"Honestly Gregory, I am very grateful for your existence, really gave me something to look forward to, it's not everyday that you run into a willing virgin fool with good company such as you and what good company that was" she spoke with her sweet voice, even after the atrocities she had committed, her supernatural charm was still perfectly intact and working on him, he just couldn't fight her on any ground.

Even in the violent rain, her appearance stayed unchanged, as though even the weather didn't dare to cross her.

In front of them was a lake, the lake would normally be still and calm but under the constant assault of the violent rain, it was constantly covered in ripples, he couldn't be certain but he could already imagine what she was planning to do.

Lust removed her blindfold and stared right into his eyes, he saw only empty darkness in her eyes and it spread to his own, his eyes returned to normal in appearance after a moment but the darkness she had infected him with still remained.

She grabbed his head and whispered something into his ear.

"You will swim to the center of this lake and then let yourself sink, you'll regain your senses when you hit the bottom" she told him, he stood up and did exactly as told, her natural charm was already difficult for him to fight off, there was no hope to resist her uncovered eyes.

As he slowly walked toward the lake, Lust disappeared, Gregory's survival was unlikely, not drowning when he was already drained in every way possible would require extreme luck and not dying from the cold either should prove even harder, still, the sin still hoped for him to get out of this with his life.

After all, he had been a rare find for her, she wouldn't find someone else fitting her criterias any time soon, so crushing the hopes of someone on a vengeance was the next best thing.

Her content smile plastered on her face, she hummed as she went further and further away from her prey.

Going back to the site of everything, a small cave placed in a way to allow the light of the morning to shine through, chains installed on the walls alongside other restraining equipments, empty vials of unknown substances littered the floor, laying stuck to the ground with dried blood.

The good company of her prey had bled quite a lot and now blood tainted almost every inch of this humble cave.

Disembodied body parts layed amongst the empty vials, after the deed had been done, the whole thing was nothing but a complete mess, one she would qualify of bad taste if it hadn't been her own.

Normally, she would have had to clean everything by herself but she had managed to enlist someone to do it for her, it had costed her a bit but she trusted that he would put back her lovely cave into pristine condition.

Meanwhile, Gregory arrived at the center of the lake and following the order he had been given, he let himself sink, subconsciously holding his breath has he did so, he never would have managed to hold it for long before but thanks to this new world's functionement, he managed to hold it until he touched the floor of the lake.

Suddenly, his eyes shot wide open as he looked around in panic, quickly realising the slowness of his movements and thus that he must be underwater, he pushed his body up, hoping to get back to the surface, the darkness was everywhere around him and no light was to be seen at the bottom.

One of his ankles was grabbed, dragging him back to the depth, he panicked and trashed around, trying to get the hand off of him, the hand was warm, he felt his body warm up before it let go, letting him swim up to the surface as he coughed up water and felt like his lungs were on fire.

Nothing else got in the way of his escape as he miserably made his way in a random direction, in a world where moons and suns showed up as they wanted, he just had to end up in this situation when only a dark moon showed up.

He dragged himself onto land, slipping around in mud, as much as he wanted to get further, he couldn't fight against the slippery terrain and was forced to remain lying in the mud, right next to the lake, exposed to the elements.

The warmth that covered his body didn't go away and remained for a long while, preventing him from dying of hypothermia.

The gentle warmth wasn't without end and once he regained enough strength, he had to find his way to a place with more cover to avoid dying.

In this short instant, unlike what he could have expected from himself, the vengeful thoughts had yet to appear in his mind, no such thing was rage and wrath were pushing him forward in that instant, it was but his sense of survival expressing itself in full.

Such things as vengeance were only to emerge once he was certain that he wouldn't die at any moment.
