"You people must be hoping to surround me" spoke Dea, standing on a single foot atop of one of the many towers all around the mansion.
As if illuminated by a spotlight, the dim light of the moons were attracted to her, making her appear much more important than the two women below her.
Layo and Laura were the first ones to run into her, they had decided to move in two groups and try to surround her, just as the vampire had guessed.
The vampire rubbed her pale hand on her chin, a peculiar smile was plastred across Dea's face.
Using her strands, Layo positioned herself on a tower across the one Dea's was on, taking a similar pose to her.
'When she was first struck by the light of the sun, I had been convinced that she had died as she had disappeared fully, no shadows for her to go to, her survival had only been known due to Molarine's connection to her and Laura's divinations, she must have an ace up her sleeves!' Layo was certain of it, that day, she should have died, there was only one explanation to this.
"Show me what you can do, Dea!" shouted Layo as her strands stretched far and wide, wrapping around many towers as well as forming a protective formation all around the user.
"Oh? Very well unnamed fodder! I will show you, the true power of Dea!" exclaimed the vampire, letting the strands take position, they converged in certain areas, forming mana bullets from every angle possible, it simply was an undodgeable attack.
Dea simply chuckled, both Laura and Layo watched her movements closely but she did nothing, the bullets converged all around her and exploded.
No splatter of blood or pieces of flesh were to be seen however, Laura looked toward Layo, only to see her drop down from the top of the tower, completely limp and Dea drop down right in front of her.
"Second unnamed fodder, it's your turn!" she declared, opening her palms and showing off her claw-like fingernails as she approached Laura like a boogeyman, ready to grab her and drag her away.
'Is Layo dead? How did that happen? She has no injuries and she should have been protected by the strands around her' Laura was trying to understand what had happened but there was no time for her to think and made use of something other than her divination.
She raised a fire wall between herself and the vampire as she moved back, Dea walked through the flames unhindered, casually strolling toward the otherworlder with one hand on her hips.
Laura chucked a fireball high up in the air before preparing to try and dodge what was coming.
She closed her eyes and heaved a big sigh, pushing her divination ability to try and predict Dea's next move.
She saw her right claws, heading straight for her face and moved further to the left, only leaving a small graze on her cheek but it was enough for Dea to send a bit of her blood inside of Laura.
She lost the control of her legs and then arms as her blood rotted, she did her best to combat it with her mana but it was only a matter of when she would die at this point.
"I knew something about your face was off, you must be one of those unwanteds, I have never drank any of those..." remarked Dea as she raised her fist, ready to drive it down right onto her face.
Before this action could be accomplished however, something flew through her hand, blasting it to pieces, the vampire turned to the source of it and saw Molarine.
"I wasn't expecting you to get here so quick after she chucked that fireball but so be it" spoke Dea, it didn't matter anyways, Laura was eventually going to succumb to the blood she had injected inside of her.
Molarine gazed at the lifeless body of Layo and gritted her teeth.
"You bastard!" she cursed as she began walking toward the vampire.
"Molarine! She has a strange ability allowing her to evade and bypass even Layo's strands!" warned Laura to the now perfectly stoic-looking pugilist.
'The swordswoman is probably waiting around in ambush, not that it matters' thought Dea as the two combatant stopped a meter away from one another, staring at each other, awaiting for the other to attack first.
A fist broke through the air, only for it to be easily blocked with only a palm, just like all the other that followed, the punches were so fast that it appeared like there were many fists without any arms attached to them.
The defender sent on attack pushing the other backward a couple of meters.
"This is pathetic! P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C! You really thought you could defeat me with subpar strength and technique? I am a naturally born vampire, my natural strength and speed is enough to crush you! No need to use any vampiric powers at all!" bragged Dea, laughing as she spread her arms.
"Reheheheh! You never stood a chance!" she taunted before moving forward, ready to disconnect Molarine's head from her shoulders.
At the last second however, her guts told her that something was off but it was too late to back down and Dea didn't believe there was anything the miserable human in front of her could do to prevent her inevitable demise.
To her shock, Molarine moved at a greater speed than before, smashing the back of her hand into the vampire's forearm, snapping it immediately, before sending her other fist right toward her mouth.
Dea jaw was shattered before she could react, her teeth scattered around and her whole body sent flying right through two towers before stopping.
Such damage was derisory for the vampire as just like her blasted hand, everything was healed back to normal in a moment, only her clothes retained the damage.
'That bitch faked her power to get me, it was meaningless however' Dea could clearly perceive what Molarine was doing thanks to her life vision, ability custom amongst undeads.
She could see the pugilist taking Laura as well as Layo's dead body away, she couldn't spot the swordswoman as of now, either she wasn't around or had something good enough to get past her life vision.
With her arms crossed, Dea walked back toward Molarine, unamused by the attack she had sustained but still quite impressed, it had truly seemed like she had given her all during the initial exchange.
"You are strong, I shall demonstrate to you my own ability, be prepared to rejoin with your dead friend!" proclaimed the vampire in an exaggerated manner.
From her point of view, everything froze and became dark, the only color across this unending darkness being a pulsating red.
"My dimension of pain!" exclaimed Dea.
The ability which had allowed her to escape from the deathly grasp of the sun.
