Aletha woke up the next day with very puffy eyes, a weak body helpless and her body temperature was very high as if she had just plunged into a hot pool.
as a result, she was still curled up in her bed even though it was morning and entering the time to go to work, she was very reluctant to separate from her bed even if only to open the door that sounded noisy at this time.
Ignoring the loud knock outside the door, Aletha buried herself even more in the thick blanket that covered her head.
Aletha pretended to be deaf for a moment and closed her eyes again.
The next minute, the sound of keys clattering from outside and finally the door to her room suddenly opened.
After that, Aletha could hear Mommy's pair of high heels walking towards her.
"Tha, it's already this hour and you're still sleeping. Are not you working? Grayson's downstairs for you."
Aletha doesn't care, she is still in the same position with a thick blanket covering her entire body.
"Aletha, come on! Why did you change like your hard-to-wake school days?" Sarah grunted in annoyance.
Even so Aletha was not at all interested in opening her blanket and showing her messy face to mommy.
"Aletha!" Sarah half shouted while shaking her daughter's body a little roughly.
"Does Mommy need to rent mosque speakers to wake you up?" Sarah was starting to lose her temper.
Aletha rolled her eyes in her blanket, after that she changed her position to be on her back and opened the blanket slightly, which only showed a pair of puffy eyes.
"I'm sick, Mom." she replied in a muffled voice because her mouth was still covered by the blanket.
"Last night you were fine. Hey, you look like you've been crying last night. What is it?"
Aletha just shook her head weakly, while Sarah was impatient and threw the thick blanket off her daughter's body.
"You cried last night right? Come on, be honest with Mommy!" forced Sarah.
Aletha nodded as she pursed her lips, it was useless to argue that there was clear evidence that her eyes were very puffy.
"Isn't the relationship between you and Regan getting better?"
Aletha didn't answer, she bit her lip and looked at Mommy desperately.
"Mom, what if it was all just pretend?"
Sarah glared at her daughter and stared at her in disbelief.
"Pretend? Aletha, what do you mean?"
"I never loved Regan, Mom. I..." Aletha suddenly choked and her heart seemed to be pulled hard into an abyss of heartbreaking sadness when she was about to admit that she still had good feelings for Dion.
"I..."
"Aletha, stop!" Sarah snapped, panting with anger.
"Mommy already knows what you want to say, so just keep it all to yourself because it won't happen. Your and Regan's marriage is an absolute decision." She continued.
Sarah left after saying that, the next second the door to Aletha's room slammed loudly.
Aleta closed her eyes when she realized everything.
"I shouldn't have told Mommy." She sobbed then.
***
There have been four employees who have become victims of Regan's anger at this afternoon's meeting because of trivial things, and the five of them did not dare to stand up because they were already in a cold sweat.
Regan finally stopped the meeting and walked out just like that.
The atmosphere of the meeting finally melted a little after being under the pressure of freezing temperature which made them tormented for an hour.
"Mr. Regan is crazy, if the salary at Sky Group was higher than other companies, I might have been working on a resignation letter a long time ago." Clara commented with an annoyed face.
While Adele and Sandra could only helplessly sigh. they stretched their muscles as well as their brains after being in a terrible meeting situation.
"After all, why isn't Aletha coming in today? We all became victims, even though Mr. Regan was kind enough to tell everyone about his relationship."
Sandra, who had just caught her breath and normalized her mind again, just shrugged her shoulders while packing her documents and getting ready to leave the meeting room. She was not at all interested in donating to Clara.
Adele did the same thing, until finally only Yunita and several other employees were still holding their breath due to the shock of the meeting just now.
Outside the meeting room.
Adele was struggling with her cellphone and wanted to contact Aletha, she suddenly felt worried.
Thinking with Adele, Sandra suddenly asked, "Is Aletha really depressed now? Dion hasn't woken up yet, while Mr. Regan has announced the marriage in public."
"Possible." Adel answered briefly because she was busy contacting Aletha who had not received an answer at all.
"What do you think?"
"San, I also think like you, that's why I contacted Aletha now, who do you think I contacted? Hmm."
Sandra chuckled, she put her arm around Adele and patted her on the shoulder.
"While waiting for Aletha to answer your call. Come with me to the cafeteria. Hearing Mr. Regan's anger since earlier made me very hungry."
"Hmm."
In a different place, Regan stepped in a hurry as soon as he arrived at Aletha's house.
Sarah, who was relaxing in the living room, was a little surprised when she got Aunt Zen's report that Regan had come to the house.
Considering that Aletha hadn't come down since morning and didn't want to touch any food either.
Even so Sarah still pretended that nothing had happened and immediately greeted Regan in front.
"Is Aletha okay?" Regan asked without preamble.
"Aletha is resting in her room, she's just a little unwell she said. Is there any urgent work she has to do?"
"No, can I see him?"
"Of course, come on!"
Sarah is happy to take Regan upstairs, she wants to make her daughter aware that Regan really cares.
"I go downstair, Regan, talk to Aletha alone. Her breakfast was wasted earlier, maybe she will hear you and want to eat lunch."
Regan just nodded and then knocked on Aletha's door.
He had been standing in front of Aletha's door for a long time and there was no sign of the door being opened by the owner, so Regan was a little worried.
He put his ear to the door and there was no sound inside.
"Aletha, open the door!" He said cold and so domineering.
But still no sound whatsoever. Regan lost her temper and he finally opened the door himself.
The next second the door opened slightly and the atmosphere was still very quiet.
"Aletha!" Call him again.
Silence, no answer or other sound from inside other than the clockwork. Regan suspected something had happened so he opened the door wider until it was fully opened and the door hit the wall.
At that moment, he was wide-eyed to see Aletha curled up on the floor with her eyes closed.
Regan ran as fast as lightning and hurriedly checked his condition.
"Tha, are you okay?"
Regan asked worriedly while moving Aletha's head into his lap.
Seeing her pale face and feeling Aletha's body temperature was abnormal, he reached out his hand to touch her forehead and suddenly a feeling of heat spread to the back of Regan's hand.
Without thinking, Regan carried Aletha out and ran down the stairs.
