Feng Yongrui had spent 3 months in Xu Chao's manor already. Every single day, he would be tortured into writing his daily life, in that particular flamboyant style that the original 'Feng Yongrui' used.
After writing so many letters, though, Feng Yongrui had to admit that he was slowly getting used to writing in that particular style. Sometimes, he even got carried away and wrote even more preposterous phrases than the ones the original 'Feng Yongrui' had made.
For example, there was that one incident when the servants received their salaries. Feng Yongrui's salary was the same like the blue-robed servants, but some of the servants weren't happy to see that. They felt like he didn't deserve to get that much money. After all, they considered his job less important than theirs.
Following the footsteps of the original 'Feng Yongrui', when he wrote his report, ahem, his letter... Feng Yongrui made sure to make a mountain out of a mole-hill.
He described how he had been "powerfully persecuted" and "ruthlessly and rudely repelled as if he was some kind of incorrigible insect".
He had also been "savagely subjugated" many times by the Phantom Stallions, whom he described as "creatures who breathe air from their noses but manage to spit fire from their horns" -- of course, Phantom Stallions had no horns, but Feng Yongrui had to be as ridiculous as he could.
Sometimes, Feng Yongrui would feel like writing the letters was such a chore. Other times, though, he found it kind of funny. He felt like he was digging his brain trying to look for more strange and creative ways of turning his monotonous days into an ostentatious letter.
At the end of each week, he would faithfully send his letters to his Boss, CHEN1213. Feng Yongrui had never received a reply from his Boss, but he thought it was okay.
After all, Chen Tengfei was the protagonist. He was definitely busy with various things to do, scheming for power, and so on. He probably wouldn't think too much of Feng Yongrui and his letters. Chen Tengfei wouldn't reply his letters either.
During this time, Feng Yongrui had also gotten to know Big Brother some more. Big Brother was a member of Cathupir Tribe, a group of demons who were similar to feline creatures, agile and strong.
Big Brother had a callused way of speaking, but he wasn't a bad person at heart. He was rough and he could be mean to people he didn't like, but he treated Feng Yongrui really well, so Feng Yongrui liked him quite a bit.
Feng Yongrui was currently brushing Violet's mane. Out of all the stallions, Violet was the quietest one and the one with the best temper. If she had to wait for her turn for a long time, she wouldn't complain or get restless, so Feng Yongrui was rather fond of her.
As he brushed her mane, Feng Yongrui thought about Xu Chao and Chen Tengfei. When the System gave him the information about this world, he had read about the setting of this world and Chen Tengfei's background, but after that, he was so focused on his task that he did not bother to check about the future events that would unfold.
Feng Yongrui opened the information and read the information about this world. After sending "Feng Yongrui" as a spy in Xu Chao's mansion, what would happen next?
Feng Yongrui read the information while absentmindedly brushing Violet's hair. By this point in time Chen Tengfei had a pretty strong foothold in the Cloud Realm. He had been conferred the title of nobility, the title of "Lord of Dawn".
However, this was not enough to curb Chen Tengfei's ambition. Chen Tengfei wanted power. He wanted his father to regret not recognizing him and for betraying his mother. He wanted to step on the rest of his half-brothers and become the next Heavenly Immortal.
However, in the Cloud Realm, there were 5 people who were very strong and who were Chen Tengfei's rivals.
The first person was named Huang Jianyu, and he was the second prince of the Cloud Realm (meaning he was the second son of the Heavenly Immortal and Chen Tengfei's half brother).
Ever since he was young, Huang Jianyu had proven himself to be a talented individual. He was intelligent and sharp, and his background was also very good. His mother was a member of the Phoenix Clan, and his uncle was the current head of the Phoenix Clan.
Chen Tengfei's second rival was the third prince, Huang Qingsheng. Unlike the second prince, who seemed almost perfect, Huang Qingsheng was known for his arrogant and overbearing personality. His mother was a lesser member of the Water Clan, so his background wasn't too bad either.
The third person Chen Tengfei was wary of was Huang Lifen, the fifth daughter of the Heavenly Immortal. Huang Lifen's mother had no prestige or backing -- in fact, there were rumors that her mothers used to be a maid in the Heavenly Immortal's palace.
However, Huang Lifen had been extremely talented from a young age. She was serious, hardworking, and her talent was second only to Huang Jianyu. Because of her meritorious services, she had many people as well as a few ministers who followed her.
The fourth person on this list was named Huang Shen, and he was the 11th prince. He did not come from a strong background, and he was famous for being a playboy. However, while he looked harmless on the surface, Chen Tengfei knew that Huang Shen was hiding his strength and amassing an army of his own in secret.
The last person was named Huang Cuifen. Unlike the other four rivals, Huang Cuifen's identity was rather special. The other four people were all the children of the current Heavenly Immortal, but Huang Cuifen was not.
Huang Cuifen was the previous Heavenly Immortal's daughter -- this meant that she was the current Heavenly Immortal's half sister.
The previous Heavenly Immortal also had many wives and concubines, and naturally, he had many children as well. Huang Cuifen was his youngest daughter.
When the current Heavenly Immortal rose to the throne, Huang Cuifen was still very young, so she wasn't seen as a threat by anyone. Now, though, Huang Cuifen was already a mature woman, older than the other four rivals who were also eyeing for the throne.
In terms of background, Huang Cuifen wasn't the best, but she had years of experience in dealing with political schemes, and her ambition was no less than the other four people.
While reading the information, Feng Yongrui fought back the urge to massage his head. Why was this family tree so complicated?
Back in the previous world, when Feng Yongrui read about the fight between Yin Qiushan and his older brother, he already felt like there was too much drama going on.
Now... this "fight for the throne" was even more complicated!
"Think about it, System," Feng Yongrui muttered. "There are four children fighting for their father's throne, and their aunt is also aiming for the throne, and besides that, there's also Chen Tengfei, who is also their sibling, but of course no one knows that."
"So complicated..." Feng Yongrui grumbled again.
In any case, from the looks of it, all of Chen Tengfei's rivals were pretty strong...
"Host, don't tell me you're worried about him?" the System asked.
Feng Yongrui almost choked. "What do you mean? Hahaha... How could a minor supporting character like me worry about the almighty protagonist? Are you kidding me?"
"He's the protagonist... Isn't it 'just' five rivals? I'm sure he'll beat them in no time," Feng Yongrui joked. "Now let's see... what important event is coming up?"
Feng Yongrui scanned the information. Around this time, Chen Tengfei would be fighting against the third prince, Huang Qingsheng. Amongst all his rivals, Chen Tengfei found the third prince to be the weakest and most annoying one.
After all, Huang Qingsheng was arrogant and behaved as if the entire world owed him money. Huang Qingsheng's attitude towards Chen Tengfei was also no good. He saw Chen Tengfei as an arrogant peasant who got lucky and ended up as a noble.
Since Chen Tengfei would be focusing on Huang Qingsheng, Feng Yongrui nodded his head satisfactorily. There was nothing he needed to do, and he didn't need to intervene with anything.
He would just take care of the Phantom Stallions quietly, and lay low, he thought.
A few days later, Feng Yongrui was sitting in the cafeteria, eating his breakfast, when Big Brother plopped down on the seat opposite him.
"Fool, how are you doing?" Big Brother asked, grinning widely.
Feng Yongrui smiled back. "Good morning, Big Brother. I'm doing well. Did you sleep well last night?" Feng Yongrui asked.
"Aiya... If you didn't mention it, I wouldn't have thought of it," Big Brother groaned. He stretched his back a few times and pounded his lower back.
"Are you okay?" Feng Yongrui asked worriedly.
"Tsk, of course I'm fine, Fool. It's just that..."
Big Brother looked around uneasily and leaned forward.
"I've been having a hard time lately," he whispered.
