"Oh?" Feng Yongrui's interest was piqued.
"Big Bro, I thought your job was pretty easy... What happened?" Feng Yongrui asked casually.
Big Brother sighed and scooped up a big piece of meat into his mouth. While chewing, he beckoned to one of his minions, Miktor.
Miktor had a flat nose, green skin, and small bat-like wings on his back. The most important thing was that he green, matted hair, but amongst his hair, Feng Yongrui could see a few green snakes writhing and wriggling around.
Feng Yongrui tried his best not to shudder. Miktor was a member of the Gorgon family, a group of demons who were famous for their snake-like hair.
After spending some time in the Phantom Realm, Feng Yongrui knew that it was extremely impolite to cringe or wince at other demonic creatures, so he had to do his best to act like he wasn't afraid. After all, he didn't want to offend anyone, especially Big Brother's people.
Miktor sat down next to Feng Yongrui and sighed.
"Big Bro is eating, so I'll explain everything to you in his stead," Miktor said. "You know that Big Bro is in charge of cleaning Xu Chao's room, and occasionally he prepares the bath for Xu Chao, right?"
Feng Yongrui nodded. He knew about that. Since Big Brother was in charge of cleaning Xu Chao's room, his job was considered rather important.
"Yeah, well, when Big Bro was cleaning up the room two days ago, he heard the Master get angry," Miktor whispered, leaning closer to Feng Yongrui.
"The Master was angry?" Feng Yongrui asked, raising an eyebrow. The Master they were talking about was naturally Xu Chao.
"That's right. You know the third prince, right? You know, the third prince of the Cloud Realm, the stupid one," Miktor whispered.
"Ah, yeah, what's wrong with him?" Feng Yongrui asked.
"Apparently he offended the fifth princess, so the two of them are fighting right now," Miktor whispered, his eyes shining.
Feng Yongrui scrunched up his eyebrows. Wasn't the third prince currently fighting with Chen Tengfei? Why did he suddenly get into a fight with the fifth princess?
Of course, Feng Yongrui couldn't ask something like that, so he asked something else instead.
"Miktor, I don't get it," Feng Yongrui said. "When those nasty Cloud Realm people are fighting, shouldn't we be happy?"
Miktor nodded his head. "You are right. Us demonic creatures don't care if the princes and princesses of the Cloud Realm fight amongst themselves. But the problem here is, someone from here is getting involved," Miktor said, lowering his voice even more.
"Someone... from here?" Feng Yongrui tilted his head.
"That's right. Think about it. Between the third prince and the fifth princess, who would most likely win?" Miktor asked.
Feng Yongrui pursed his lips. Well, based on the information from the System, as well as his own judgement... if those two really fought, then the one who was supposed to gain the upper hand was the fifth princess, Huang Lifen.
But of course, since Feng Yongrui was pretending to be a fool, he couldn't say that.
"I-I don't know... Sorry," Feng Yongrui bowed his head, pretending to be ashamed.
Miktor shook his head. "It's okay. I'm the one at fault. I forgot you're called 'Fool' for a reason. Anyway, between the third prince and the fifth princess, the one who should come on top should be the fifth princess."
"Even though the third prince has a stronger background because of his mother's clan, he is arrogant and not as talented as the fifth princess, so normally, if the two of them fight, then the one who comes out on top should be the fifth princess," Miktor explained patiently.
"I see..." Feng Yongrui nodded his head quietly. He still didn't see the issue here. Was Miktor saying that... the one who was winning was the third prince?
"The problem here is, the third prince is gaining an upper hand over the fifth princess," Miktor said.
Feng Yongrui's eyes widened in surprised, and he looked at Miktor, bewildered.
"Uhm... Didn't you say that the fifth princess will win? Why is the third prince winning instead?" Feng Yongrui asked, putting on his "I don't understand" face.
Miktor was about to speak when Big Brother, who had been silent all this time, spoke up.
"Mik', you know the Fool is like that... If you explain in such a roundabout way, how will he understand?" Big Brother grumbled.
"Sorry, Big Bro... I-I'm actually not done explaining yet..." Miktor started.
"I'll continued to explain," Big Brother said. Turning to Feng Yongrui, Big Brother beckoned with his finger and Feng Yongrui leaned closer.
"The third prince is winning against the princess because he has a backer," Big Brother whispered.
"A backer?" Feng Yongrui echoed. Was there something like this in the System's information?
"And that backer is..." Big Brother lowered his voice even more. "The head of the Vampire Clan," he whispered.
Feng Yongrui sucked in a cold breath. The head of the Vampire Clan? He had almost forgotten that in the Phantom Realm, the Shadow Demons weren't the only powerful clans. There was the royal family, the Vampire Clan, and a few other clans that had lesser power.
"As you may know, Master doesn't like the third prince," Big Brother explained. "I think you were there that day... Do you remember, Fool? When there was a spy who tried to assassinate the Master..."
"Ah, I remember," Feng Yongrui nodded his head. How could he forget that incident? That was his first day in this world, and that incident had almost scared him witless.
"Actually, that wasn't the first time the third prince sent someone to our mansion as a spy," Big Brother explained. "At first, the third prince tried to bribe our Master, but he failed. After that, he kept sending people to spy on the Master, and each time, the Master would find out about it..."
"...I see... Is that why the Master hates the third prince?" Feng Yongrui asked.
"Correct. Such a rash and arrogant person... Does he think that just because he has the backing of the Water Clan, he can act as he pleases? Tsk, tsk, I think that guy is just a spoiled brat," Big Brother said. "He'll be kicked out of the fight for the throne sooner or later."
"So... the Vampire Clan is backing the third prince, and so the Master is angry?" Feng Yongrui asked.
"That's right, Fool! You finally understand!" Big Brother clapped him on the back, making Feng Yongrui almost choke on his food.
"Big Brother, uhm... What is the Vampire Clan like?" Feng Yongrui asked; he was genuinely curious.
"Shh! Lower your voice!" Big Brother hushed. "It seems like I forgot to tell you, Fool. The Vampire Clan and the Shadow Demon Clan aren't on good terms, so the Master doesn't like them too..."
"Ah... I see, sorry," Feng Yongrui said.
Big Brother nodded his head. "It's fine, but, other than me, I think it's best if you don't mention the Vampire Clan to anyone else, okay?"
Feng Yongrui nodded his head obediently.
Pleased, Big Brother scooped up a big bite of meat and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Anyway, because of that, the Master has been really upset these days," Miktor explained. "And so, the Master has been lashing out at Big Bro for some time now, saying that the room isn't clean enough and whatnot..."
Feng Yongrui stole a glance at Big Brother's face, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Big Brother wasn't upset.
Big Brother heaved a sigh. "Alright, alright. Enough about me. What about you, Mik?" he asked.
"I don't have any problems with my work, Big Bro," Miktor replied. "Every day I just cook and do my job as usual."
"Hm... What about you, Fool?" Big Brother turned to Feng Yongrui. "Is there anyone who's bullying you again?"
Feng Yongrui's lips twitched. Speaking of people who bullied him, didn't the System bully him every day? Of course, he couldn't tell Big Brother about it.
"No one bullied me... My job is okay," Feng Yongrui replied.
"That's good."
Big Brother finished his meal and said a few more words before leaving. After Big Brother and Miktor, along with the other minions had left, Feng Yongrui fell into deep thought.
The third prince, Huang Qingsheng, and the fifth princess, Huang Lifen, were fighting?
"System, didn't you say that Chen Tengfei is planning to deal with the third prince?" Feng Yongrui asked.
"That's right, Host."
"Could your information be wrong?" Feng Yongrui wondered.
"...Excuse me?? How dare you, Host!" the System cried.
Feng Yongrui rolled his eyes. The System was always like this.
Wait.
Feng Yongrui paused. Maybe... he had been too prejudiced. Maybe the System's information wasn't wrong, it's just that it wasn't detailed enough!
"When two big powers fight..." Feng Yongrui muttered. "The one who will profit the most is... the third party..."
"What if, Chen Tengfei somehow framed the third prince or goaded the third prince into fighting the fifth princess..."
"And because of that, the fifth princess was enraged and decided to fight the third prince seriously..."
"That's possible, right?" Feng Yongrui muttered.
