Chapter 27 - Nishil [3]

"Nishil?"

The man in the mirror revealed to be Nishil, was looking directly into my eyes. His gaze pierced through my skull and it was hard to even look at him in the eyes.

"Yes, I'm Nishil."

"Am I supposed to know who you are?"

I couldn't look him in the eye, he was too overwhelming. His voice sounded like that of which belonged to a king, the voice of an absolute monarch.

"I suppose not, but you will know who I am one day. No matter what happens."

He said with a terrifying grin.

"Why are you here?"

"To make you the strongest."

'To make me the strongest?'

As if he heard my exact thoughts, Nishil nodded his head and looked at me with deadly eyes.

"Strongest what?"

I asked.

"The strongest at defeating the rifts, the strongest being to ever exist."

Nishil lifted his arms and presented to me his intentions.

"How did you even get here, and why choose me?"

"Well, you didn't die when you used the Calypsis. It must've been fate then."

'Calypsis?'

"That artifact sword if you were wondering on its real name. You know, the thing you tried to sell."

The man looked at me with squinted eyes as if I were nothing but a squish-able bug.

"Tried? I managed to sell it what are you talking about?"

Nishil shook his head and looked at me in disgust. He continued making this expression until he pointed to a pocket on my jacket.

Seeing his gesture, I reached into my pocket and felt a chain. I pulled it out and it revealed itself to the light bars situated underneath the mirror.

The Calypsis.

"It's in a different form from when I last saw it hm."

Nishil looked at the necklace through the mirror with curiosity.

"Here, let's change it up."

Swoosh-

Nishil waved his hand in the air over the Calypsis. Although he only did this in the reflection it changed the form of the object.

"W-what the hell?"

I looked at the Calypsis with a puzzled face.

"An earring?"

The shape Nishil changed it to took the form of an earring.

The earring had smaller chains attached to it and it was an earring meant to dangle. The dangling part of it had a crescent moon shaped onto it and the rest of the earring was black in color.

"That looks better. Ah, let's fix this too."

Prick-

"Ah! What the hell was that?!"

Nishil pointed to my ear and pierced it. The Calypsis then started to move into the piercing and attached itself to me.

"Better."

Nishil said with a satisfied grin.

I could barely comprehend the situation I was in. The man in front of me wasn't around me physically but I could see him in the mirror.

As my reflection.

He wasn't manifested physically, but he could clearly manipulate the physical world.

"Go to the training area."

He suddenly said.

"Why so suddenly?"

"I need to teach you some things child."

*****

"That kid… he scammed me."

The man who spoke was leaning backwards in his chair. He was within a Japanese style shop with shoji doors. The place was filled with smoke and the stench of cigarettes.

"Get out of that daze dumbass."

Speaking to the man in the chair was another.

This man had tattoos all over his body and a slicked back hairstyle. His veins were bulging through his forehead and his eyes were glowing blood red.

"That kid really scammed me Nobu…"

The man in the chair was in a trance of sorts. His words were fuzzy and his eyes were lost.

"Fucking useless bastard!"

The man with tattoos was revealed to be a man named Nobu. He cleared the desk in a fit if rage and threw the products all around the room.

His eyes glowed more intensely the more he was angry. The other men with him were putting their hands up trying to not get hit by flying objects.

"Hey calm it down will ya?! Fuckin' hell Nobu, the dude clearly has shit for brains!"

"Off him."

Nobu glared at the scrawny man talking with a piercing glare. While he sent orders to his other men.

Hearing his orders the men at his side made their way to the man sitting. The men grabbed him by the arms and they were an inch away from unveiling their guns.

"WAIT WAIT WAIT! FUCKIN' WAIT MATE."

"Out of the way Freddie."

The scrawny man named Freddie suddenly jumped between Nobu and the dazed man. He had his arms up and he had sweat trickling down his forehead.

"If you kill him we'll never get any information! The boss will off us then!"

"He hasn't given us any information here. So why the hell would he later?"

"The boss."

Nobu's eyes suddenly widened at the words that came out of Freddie's mouth.

"The boss? What do you mean?"

He asked.

"You know…his methods are 100% effective."

"That is true…."

The two men looked at each other with a mutual understanding. Their eyes said it all, they feared the boss.

"Somebody talking about me?"

The air in the room instantaneously got colder. Everybody froze and slowly turned their heads to the voice that had greeted them.

The man was wearing a veil of darkness. There was no physical mask on him but the light hit him so perfectly it masked his face for him. As he moved, so did the light.

His glowing yellow eyes pieces through the shadows with ominous intent.

Tap-

Tap-

Tap-

His footsteps echoed throughout the room. He was wearing an outfit you'd expect a mob boss to wear. Large overcoat situated atop of a blazer suit.

"S-sir? What are you doing here?"

Nobu swallowed his saliva.

All of the men in the room instinctively bowed their heads down and didn't even dare to look the boss in the eye.

"Aiyaaa don't call me sir right now, call me by my field name Nobu."

The boss said with a friendly smirk on his face.

"My apologies, Amon."

"Good Nobu, now what kind of business are my men running here? What of this man here?"

Amon lifted his hand and pointed to the man being held captive by two of Nobu's men. He waved his hand and ordered the men to release him.

Thud-

The man fell on the floor without even making noise.

"What are you trying to gain from this man hm?"

Amon asked with a smile.

"Details on what the kid sold."

"What kid?"

"The kid that stole your package."

Amon's eyes got thinner as he squinted them and a yellow hue was emitted by his sharp eyes.

"You know who took it?"

"Yes, take a look at this Amon."

Nobu reached into his pockets and pulled out a card. He gave the card to Amon and he closely read its contents.

"My package was stolen by an Aethra student? A weak one nonetheless."

The card was a student ID.

"Yes sir."

"I told you to stop calling me sir."

Amon's eyes grew brighter and sharper and the pressure Nobu faced was immense. He touched his throat frantically before realizing it.

He couldn't breathe.

He looked for help from the other men but all they did was look away and cower in fear.

Nobu's eyes started to get bloodshot and the lack of oxygen made his veins bulge out of his neck and face.

Before the pressure finally released.

Amon had calmed down and returned to his calm self. He had a bright smile on his face that only screamed malicious intent.

"So this man has details on what "Keir" sold?"

"Haa- haa- yes Amon. He's your best shot at finding that package."

Amon took out a pair of black gloves from a pocket and slid them onto his hands. He took a few steps forward and gestured for the two men to hold up the fallen man.

Snap-

With a snap of his fingers the man instantly awoke.

"AH! Where am I?!"

Amon crouched down and looked the confused man in the eye. He put on a smile and his hand onto the man's shoulder before speaking.

"I've heard you buy products no?"

"Y-yes sir."

"Good, that's a good answer. It'll make this easier."

"I-it'll make what easier sir?"

The man asked in confusion.

"Did you buy something today from a kid? Did he look like this?"

Amon presented the ID to the shopkeeper with a smile. The light still obscuring his identity.

"I-I don't remember sir."

"Why not?"

Amon said with a dissatisfied tone.

"Well sir, all the people that sell their products in my shop hide their identities. I wouldn't remember all of the- ackkk!"

The man's eyes suddenly turned bloodshot. The light shining through the windows had suddenly formed a beam of light that slowly moved closer to the shopkeeper.

The beam of light scorched the wooden floor as it inched closer and closer to the shopkeeper. The two men held him in place despite his struggles, and Amon showed the ID once more before continuing.

"Well it's best if you start remembering no?"

Amon suggested with a friendly grin.
