'Eh?'
Was I really being glared at because of these two people? Were the students in class jealous of me? I mean, after all I was sitting next to some of the most good-looking model-esque students.
Kiran could get any girl he wanted, and Fukuyo could probably get any guy without even speaking.
Suddenly I felt as if somebody was burning holes through my face with their noticeable glare and disdain.
Vincent was in this class too.
I could see him staring at me with intensity. It was a bit awkward trying to take notes in class to say the least.
Even after a whole 40 minutes of lecturing from Professors Albrecht, Vincent still stared me down like a piece of meat.
"Hey Kiran this Vincent guy is being a weirdo."
I whispered over to Kiran.
He looked up from his notes and looked at me with a fatigued face.
"Maybe he wants to be friends with you or something, I don't know go talk to him or something if you're uncomfortable."
I instantly cringed at the statement Kiran just said.
"You think that fucker over there wants to be friends with me? Dude is literally burning holes into my head with that glare."
Fukuyo stared at me silently before looking over to where my finger was pointing. Shifting her vision over she saw Vincent with bloodshot eyes staring at Keir.
"He doesn't look too well."
Fukuyo softly said.
After she spoke, Kiran and I both looked at him in sync. Kiran's expression changed from boredom to disgust as he looked at Vincent.
"Why the hell is he still looking over here? It's been nearly an hour. Does that guy have nothing else better to do?"
"I wish I knew the answer."
Both of us sighed before trying to continue paying attention to the lesson Professor Albrecht was giving us.
We were currently going over the history of the Galen Medical Institute. Professor Albrecht took the large board behind him and projected a visual of Galen medicinal history.
"I'm sure that all of you students know that the Galen family is highly renowned as Scions for their ability to heal others. They were blessed by the Paragon named Aeson. Now Aeson was, of course, part of The Six but he was in fact the weakest of them all in terms of lethality. Yet without him, the entire council would've fallen apart due to his ability as the sole healer of the past. Nowadays we have many Riftwalkers that specialize in healing, but none of them even come close to the ability that the Galen family has."
The classroom looked at his screen in awe as there was a projected image of Aeson. A paragon that held a halo ring above their head and had the healing rays of the sun in their control.
"In fact, we even have a Galen family member within this very classroom. Go ahead."
Professor Albrecht motioned for a student to come down with a smile on his face.
In response to this motion a boy sitting at around 5'11 got up from his seat, he had bright blonde hair that was in a side part hairstyle and his eyes were blue like the sky.
As the boy made his way down to the podium he caught the eyes of everybody in the room with his own noble-like aura.
He especially caught the eyes of all the girls in the room besides Fukuyo, in fact she didn't seem interested at all.
He looked towards the Professor and got a nod of approval before speaking.
"Hello my fellow students, my name is Asa Galen and I am the current heir for the Galen Corporation. I am also the student council president, so if you need any help or inquiries, I'll be sure to help you all out. If I'm not available please contact that man in the back over there sleeping."
Gesturing towards the back of the room the eyes of all the students landed directly one row in front of where we were sitting.
A young man with glasses could be seen snoozing in front of us.
"Ah, don't mind him he's awfully lazy. His name is Samael Busujima if you were all curious, he's also a Scion and his family is in partnership with mine when it comes to pharmaceutical studies."
'Busujima family?'
The only thing I can recall about his family is that they deal with toxins and decay.
I guess it makes sense for them to be working with healers in a way due to their in depth knowledge on the way things affect human health.
Whether that be decay or growth.
"It's very nice to meet you all since I'll be studying alongside you all for the next few years. I look forward to being a good president for all of you, thank you."
Asa stepped away from the podium and made his way back to his own seat while the class of students cheered him on and applauded him.
"Alright students it's lunch time, we had a good lesson today have a great rest of your day."
Professor Albrecht said as he was packing his things to head back to his office.
With his announcements the students gathered their belongings and made their way out of the classroom.
"Hey Keir."
Suddenly calling for me was Kiran.
"Hm what's up?"
"Wanna grab lunch?"
He asked casually.
"Yeah sure why not."
"May I join you two as well?"
Fukuyo suddenly asked.
"Of course you can."
Both Kiran and I replied with smiles on our faces.
****
The clouds covered the sky and the air was chilling. The cool breeze stung my cheeks as I walked to the lunchroom with Kiran and Fukuyo.
It was weather that made me calm and appreciative of nature.
"We're here."
Catching my attention was Kiran.
We made it to the entrance of the lunchroom which was bigger than 50 restaurants put together.
Or at least that's what it seemed like, it was a large building that was perfect for students. We made our way in and what greeted us was a large open space with multiple floors and dining areas.
The highest it went to was around 3 separate floors with different serving options of food on each one.
"What should we get to eat?"
I asked with bright eyes.
"I'm down for something light."
Kiran said.
I looked towards Kiran and Fukuyo before thinking to myself on what could be considered a light meal. Maybe something with smaller portions could work.
"Let's all get some small rice bowls then."
The group nodded in agreement and we made our way to one of the areas serving food.
We got our trays and found an area to sit in. The chairs were like couches and the tables were anywhere you wanted them to be.
There were areas where they had barstools and areas where they had full on dining tables.
"This is a big ass lunchroom."
"Only at Aethra…"
Kiran said while looking around in awe.
Fukuyo was currently silently eating her bowl of rice with chopsticks. She looked like she was hungry for more seeing how fast she nearly finished that entire bowl.
"Anyways, how did you two end up meeting?"
Kiran and Fukuyo suddenly stopped eating for a moment before Kiran gave me a reply.
"Because we're scions dingus."
"Oh right."
I was currently making an awkward smile and the awkwardness only grew when it became quiet. Seeing this Kiran quickly shot back a question.
"The real question is how do you two know each other hm?"
"We met at midnight."
Fukuyo softly answered.
Kiran looked dumbfounded and confused at what he just heard.
"Midnight?"
"We both met really late at night since we were training at the same time."
I answered to solve his confusion.
"Ah okay that makes sense, and also you've been training? You get taller or something? I swear you got taller."
"Ah, maybe? I'm not really sure."
I said while taking a bite of my meal.
Bzzt-
"Ah- let me get this text real quick."
I pulled out my phone from my coat pocket and read the text I just received.
- Hey Keir it's Jenna, just letting you know I got in contact with my friend and he's willing to help you find a way to increase your stamina. PS. You better join the study group. -
'Ohooo-?'
She actually did what I asked. It was relatively easy too, I guess being a Scion really does have its perks with connections. Punching in some letters into my phone I swiftly sent a text back.
- Thanks Jenna, glad you were willing to help me out a bit. When can I meet him? -
- You can rn. -
She instantly replied.
- eh? -
- ╮(╯▽╰)╭ -
That was the last text I got from her. What the hell did she mean by I could meet him right now?
"Keir I presume?"
Suddenly a posh voice rang out behind me, catching the attention of both Kiran and Fukuyo, she was still eating her rice bowl.
"Yes, who's aski-oh hello."
I turned around to see who had asked for me. It must've been the person Jenna referred me to. He had well kept blonde hair and sky-blue eyes.
Asa Galen.
