As I woke up to someone pushing my body, I quickly opened my eyes and saw William, already dressed in his school uniform.
"Hey, wake up! You're gonna be late. The entrance ceremony is in 15 minutes!" he said, trying to rouse me.
"Shit," I muttered, hastily getting up. Waking up early had never been my strong suit, even in my previous life.
Glancing at the time, I saw it was 7:43. The entrance ceremony was at 8:00, and I immediately got up, took a quick shower, and left.
As we walked, William chatted away about random stuff. "You know, they call our generation the Golden Generation because apparently, we have the most potential."
I completely ignored him, lost in my thoughts. "Oh, so he's one of those people who act strong to the weak and weak to the strong," I mused. "As soon as he thought that I am stronger than him, he immediately started acting like we're friends."
Arriving at a hall as big as a stadium, many students were already inside. We had made it just in time. Our seats were arranged according to rank, so I quickly found mine.
The entrance ceremony commenced, and on the podium stood the principal, the top 10 students of the first year, who were the main characters of the novel, and a few other teachers.
As the ceremony began, Principal Luke Pendragon, an SS+ rank hero, 7th in the International Hero rankings, and Principal of Renasia Academy, delivered a speech. Although I got bored, he continued with his speech, boasting about the academy's excellence.
My attention wandered, and I started observing the main characters. Among them, Leo Ashborn caught my eye. Leo had a sad backstory that fueled his hatred for demons.
Leo Ashborn like every protagonist has a sad backstory which lead him to hate demons

6 years ago when Leo was only 9 years old a demon attacked his small village, Leo had grown up in a small rural village where the strongest person there was B rank he lived a peaceful life with his parents and his 2 twin younger sisters
Leo's dad was a farmer and his mother was a teacher who taught all the young kids in the village growing up Leo had always dreamed of being a hero, so everyday he would practice his swordsmanship he would also sometimes leave the village to go hunt some small animals such as rabbits
One day while he had been on a hunt he heard screaming coming from his village, he quickly started running back to his village but what he had seen had completely traumatized him there was blood everywhere dead bodies were scattered everywhere houses were on fire kids were screaming
Leo immediately ran towards his house crying seeing people who he had grown up with corpses on the floor
As he arrived at his house he saw his mother's and one of his sisters corpses on the floor he immediately broke down crying in the distance he could see his father battling a demon as his father was about to die heroes had arrived and had killed the remaining demons
Leo quickly went up and ran to his father who was busy dying before his father died he handed Leo a pendant
"This was a family heirloom I had planned to give it... to. You when you awakened... I'm sorry I won't be able to watch you grow up.. but.. Just know I love you" Those were the last words his father said to him before he died
As his dad had just died one of the heroes who had come to kill the demons took pity on Leo and adopted him this heroes name was Liam Ashborn an SS- rank hero
After awakening at 13 years old Leo woke up one day and his pendant had disappeared but that's not all what he saw next was

As I saw him, I was awestruck by his handsome appearance. He had golden eyes that shone like the sun, soft brown hair, and a lean fit build. Leo was talkative, friendly, and caring, but he didn't hesitate to punish his enemies.
Next to Leo was his rival and best friend, Ray Lionheart, the son of the 8th Strongest man on the planet. Sitting beside him was Alissa Pendragon, the principal's daughter, a beautiful and intimidating figure. Amy Ashborn, Leo's adoptive sister, was another heroine, known for her cheerful personality. Also present was Kayla Black, a seemingly cheerful girl with a hidden sadistic side.
The rest of the ten students were extras, mentioned occasionally in the novel.
After the principal's long-winded speech, another teacher, known as the Crimson Witch, took the stage, and the students began to chatter excitedly.
"I heard that she burns all her enemies to death," one student whispered.
"I heard she laughs every time she kills her enemies," another said.
"I heard she'll break through to S+ rank soon, becoming the youngest to achieve that," added another.
The Crimson Witch confirmed that she would become a teacher at the school, and students were in awe of having her here.
She announced that an email would be sent to every student's Z watch to inform them about their classes. With classes starting tomorrow, anticipation filled the air.
As I looked at my class notification on my Z watch, excitement bubbled within me. My journey at Renasia Academy was about to begin.
