"Dad stop being worried for no reason, we talked last week"
"No Ann, Last week seems to be like it was last year…. I miss my little girl and I don't just want a thrice a week conversation darling"
Right now I am on the phone with my dad, and he just can't seem to stop complaining about everything so annoyingly.
"Do you pester Solomon as much as you pester me!!"
"You're my little girl and if you can't come visit your old man even once then I'd have no choice but to come over there and drag you back to stay with me till you're thirty." He said loudly causing me to look at my phone shocked.
I heard a shocked gasp thinking it was me but it was Dom instead still holding his hand over his mouth. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic posture to which he just shrugged and kept on listening with his ear glued to my phone trying to grab the details of my conversation. I think he's just bored out of his mind.
I continued on the phone ignoring Dom's nosey ass, "You wouldn't daddy"
"Oh, trust me I would darling" sighing I just decided to end the call altogether, I have more pressing matters to get to.
"So how's co-"
"pssh, dad? Dad I can't hear you…. Psh" I motioned for Dom to add more dramatic effect to which he gladly did. "dad I can't hear you, you're breaking off"
"but I can hear you perfectly" he was shouting at this point.
"I can't hear you at all, pssshh, too bad, bye, love you" I rushed out my words and immediately ended the call.
Micah who was reading a book on the couch just glanced at us like he was surprised by our stupidity. I wasn't concentrated on anyone or anything and they could see it as I had started rubbing my forehead out of habit, usually when I'm stressed or worried.
"Still haven't heard from her?" Micah asked.
I shook my head in response. For two weeks now I have been trying to reach out to Sarah. She seems to have disappeared after the sleep over we had, her phone wasn't going through and her roommate also didn't know her whereabouts.
Flashback
I knocked on the door of Sarah's dorm, the door was decorated with all kinds of stickers such as keep out, No Banging, Studying, Yo mama. I'm pretty sure the last one was put on there by her roommate. Eek! That girl gives me the creeps but she's kind of fun to have around when she's not being all dark and broody.
The door opened up revealing a girl in an all-black attire, her black shiny hair cascaded down her back with the tips colored in purple. She had piercings mostly covering her ears, nose, lips, navel and also two added piercings at the sides of her nose of her nose bridge. She had tattoos covering her arms, legs, neck, chest area, belly and small written words on her face.
She looked at me with a scowl on her face trying hard to hide it with a smile while I wondered how the choker on her neck with a tag wasn't actually choking the life out of her due to it's size.
"Hi Rhea" I greeted meekly with a huge smile on my face, making her frown deepen even more….. How I love pissing this lady off.
"Hey..." she trailed off, I wonder when she would actually keep my name in her memory.
"Diane. Call me Diane" I said dryly while trying to go in but she seemed to not want that as she kept the door tightly shut with her in between.
"Hey Diane, what'd you want?" She asked with a tight lipped smile on her face, she seems to be hiding something but I could see through her. Can it be what I think it is or who? No it can't be…. She wouldn't do it would she? Oh goodness I hope she's alright.
"I want to know why you're not letting me in"
She rolled her eyes at me as if to say I should have figured it out by now. I tried pushing my way in but she just glared at me as if daring me to try again.
"I don't see what the problem here is Rhea, I have been here plenty of times and there was no complaint so what's stopping me from going in now? Unless you're hiding something you don't want anyone to know about" her eyes immediately narrowed causing me to smirk at her thus confirming my theory.
"what do you know?"
"where is she?" we both asked at the same time but she answered first.
"She? What she?" she asked through clenched teeth.
"what do you mean what she, I mean where is Sarah, I have been trying to get through to her but failed, I came here to spend some time with her but clearly she isn't here as you have been acting shady ever since I got here" stopping for a moment to breath, I continued, "So tell me where she is, what have you done with her?"
I looked at her with tears threatening to fall from my eyes but they weren't tears of weakness but of anger. Meanwhile she just looked at me like I had grown fairy wings on my head but that shocked looked didn't last as she immediately grabbed my neck in a choke hold, rage seeping from her eyes. I wonder how Sarah put up with her.
"Now listen and listen good doll, your friend's whereabouts is none of my damn business. Heck I don't care if she was on her way to hell right now but I would warn you to never show up on my doorstep accusing me of something I know nothing of. Now scram and go look for your friend some place else and stay out of my fucking business bitch."
I wasn't intimidated in the least and I am quite sure she could see it but before I could say anything more, I heard a female voice calling out to Rhea in a sweet tone before she appeared on the doorway with her arms wrapped around Rhea's torso in a loving manner leaning in to peck her cheek before turning to look at me with her deep brown eyes, all smiles gone wanting to know who I was.
She was wrapped with a blanket barely covering her modesty her blonde hair looked disheveled like she just indulged in a wrestling match, her makeup was everywhere. I looked between her and Rhea, looking back and forth before it dawned on me.
She was Rhea's girlfriend or maybe not, I wasn't all knowing to be able to figure out their relationship overnight. Even if I was right Rhea's facial expressions gave nothing away as she turned to go in with the girl dragging her arm forward.
"Hold on... please can I stay here for the night. I promise to leave by morning you wouldn't even know I'm here" She seemed to think about it before saying a swift NO banging the door on my face.
'Way to go Diane, now you have no-where to lay your head on and it's pretty late already' I thought to myself. Well at least the guys won't be worried knowing I went to see my friend, I am sure Adonis would have told them already.
The thought of my friend was enough to make me slide down with a thump on the floor, my head lay rested on the wall with my eyes closed and my hands rubbing my forehead. I hope she's alright, maybe she went to that party she proposed we go to the other day. When I started hearing smooching sounds and moans from the inner room I knew it was time to leave so I got up to go where ever my legs When the door suddenly burst open.
What I saw made my insides cringe I tell you but the little information I got from rhea was enough to leave me hopeful
"I don't know much but before she left she told me that she'd be going over to her parents and won't be back for some time" Was all she said before banging the door shut on my face.
Walking down the road I contemplated going back to my dorm and own it up with the boys but I'm pretty sure that's my imagination talking. I Just dragged my bag of books with me down road and cursed myself for forgetting the assignment given to me. I think I have to stop by the library, maybe sleep there too if I can.
Beep Beep Beep!!!
"Need a ride?" Kai asked, when did he even get here? Is he stalking me?
"Are you stalking me?"
He looked at me wide eyed "What! No..N…NO!"
"I was just by the- Ah fuck this, just get in Ann"
"No way, I'd rather sleep on the streets than hop into that car of treacheries with you in it, most especially with you in it." I said in a matter of fact tone and kept on walking straight ahead until I felt the car stop thinking he finally left me alone. But instead I felt a hand on my waist lifting me up like I was nothing and dropping me in the car before shutting the car door close.
This damn boy! I'll kill him, he's so.....Dead.
Flashback Ends
"I am sure we'll get a hold of her soon Ann. So don't worry" Dom said patting my shoulder gently.
I really do hope she reaches out to us soon, we tried finding out her home address but the school wouldn't release that information and I never bothered to ask her as it didn't cross my mind. I can only hope to heavens that she is doing alright.
"Found her." Adonis said smugly. But before he could even say anything we heard a knock on the door, Dom insisted on going to open it, lo and behold, Sarah was standing there barely, looking brutally beat and starved, if she was any lean before now she just resembled a skeleton, I wonder how she made it here.
"Hi Dianne" she barely breathed out before collapsing on the floor. I let out a shaky gasp still not able to believe what my eyes was seeing.
