Nia was sitting with her head down in front of Rose and Luna who were upset at her for lying to them.
"Nia." Luna said with a stern voice.
Nia felt a shiver down her back and kept her head down.
"Look at us."
Nia hesitantly lifted her head up to look at her blonde and black haired maids.
Seeing Nia look like she is about to cry Rose and Luna both took a deep breath and calmed down. They both went over to Nia and sat down next to her, while Luna started to caress her soft and silky black hair Rose asks in a gentle tone. "Nia, why did you do a assassination instead of the beast hunt mission?"
Nia hearing the question looks around nervously and hears Rose's voice again.
"No need to be nervous we won't be mad. You can tell us anything Nia."
Nia looks up at Rose's eyes and asks, "Anything?"
Before Rose could reply Luna turns Nia's heard to look at her and says, "Yes anything. We were already worried when we thought you were going to do the beast hunt since they are physically stronger than others in the same Rank. So when you said that you did an assassination mission we were scared that something may have happened to you since humans especially on Thera are cruel." Luna softly smiles and kisses Nia on the forehead and continues talking, "We care about you a lot Nia and if something happened to you then...."Luna didn't finish her sentence as her and Rose's eyes grew dark and lifeless.
Nia sensing something wrong with her maids hugs them both and apologies to them.
"I'm Sorry for making the both of you worry." Nia said in an apologetic tone.
The two's eyes went back to normal and they had a gentle smile on their faces.
"Getting back to the question, can you tell us why you changed the mission to an assassination instead of the beast hunt?"
"Tsk,"
Rose and Luna heard Nia click her tongue and both of them had a vein bulge in their forehead. Luna grabbed Nia's ear and started pulling it while scolding her.
"You've been getting really cheeky lately and while its cute, it will not get you out of it, now tell us why did you change the mission."
"Ahh! Stop! I'll talk! I'll talk! Just stop pulling my ear!"
"I will let go when you tell me what I want to hear and not a second before." Luna said with an imperceptible smile knowing that Nia was going along with her joke since she didn't put enough strength in to have her feel any pain.
"It was Elaine who told me that I should try an assassination mission since it would be more fun."
Luna let go of Nia's ear and said in a more serious tone, "When did you see Elaine? We've been with you the whole time for the past year."
"The last time I talked to Elaine was a few days before training ended. She visited me in the cultivation room as usual and told me that an assassination mission would be more fun to do. She even told me that when I completed it she would give me a gift."
'as usual?' 'She has been here many times?' They both communicated to each other.
With a gentle smile Rose asked Nia about the times she spent with Elaine. So Nia happily did so since she thought nothing was wrong.
After hearing about her time with Elaine both Rose and Luna had the exact same thought.
'THAT BITCH!!! She's trying to take OUR Nia away!'
BAM!!
"Nia! Congratulations on completing your mission!~"
"Elaine!" Nia left the embrace of the two maids and jumped on Elaine giving her a big hug.
Their eyes grew lifeless with their minds swirling with dangerous thoughts as they watched the hug.
Elaine hugged her back but instead of letting go, Nia clung to her like a koala with a big smile on her face getting a chuckle out of Elaine. Holding Nia she sat down across from Rose and Luna and seeing their faces Elaine looks at them with a smug smile.
The two maids saw the her smug face and had veins popping out of their foreheads. They both looked at Elaine and had a smug smile themselves as they said separately but at the same time.
"Mountains are more interesting then plains"
"Flat pillows are not as comfortable as full ones."
This time it was Elaine's turn to have veins pop out of her forehead but before she could give a retort to the maids Nia asked with expecting eyes, "Elaine what brings you here other than to congratulating me?"
Elaine chuckled seeing Nia's face that said 'what did you bring me?'
