The sun shines through the sheer curtain, casting an orange hue in the room. My face was stiff from the dried tears. I walked to the bathroom and splashed water to clear my skin and thoughts.
Thankfully, Alastair wasn't in bed when I woke up. The side he slept on was cool so I guess he woke up some time ago.
I wasn't sure if I should thank him, apologize, or both for being such a mess in the middle of the night and comforting me.
I walked out of the bathroom and saw Alastair standing by the window. His golden skin took in the sun's rays in the most flattering way, making him look like a golden statue.
"Thank you, and I apologize for last night. You really helped me out, but I also interrupted your sleep." I said. I couldn't look into his eyes, so I stared down at the marble floor. I saw him clench his fist from the corner of my eye. He would relax his hand but only to clench it a few seconds later.
