What used to be pearly white gates that loomed over oncoming guests now lay crooked on its side, barely holding onto the ground.
We walked past the broken gate through where the other half would have been.
"How eerie. I can't imagine this place being so full of life." Karmon said, "It's completely dead."
Mansi tapped Karmon on the arm and muttered, "Try to be mindful."
I didn't mind Karmon's comment. I wouldn't have been able to imagine the castle being full of life, either.
Mansi went ahead, and the rest of us followed. When we reached the castle's entrance, we tied the horses to a nearby hitching post and entered.
The castle itself was filled with holes. The top of the tallest tower had fallen to the ground, windows busted open, and vines and mold were growing over the walls. Mother Nature had taken over, and the castle didn't even put up a fight.
