I mustered the guts to ask, "May I ask whether you know the name of the woman your son is chasing, My Lord?"
I was hoping that maybe after Elivette was abandoned and punished, Allerick had found another woman to pursue.
"I'm clueless about the identity of the woman, my son never told me a thing about her." I nodded at his response.
"You mentioned that he had found her a month ago," A month ago I had just transmigrated into the body of Elivette, "May I ask where he found her?"
"Oh, he found her in Azmar, then I had to request him to comeback because I wanted to throw a celebration for his birthday at that time."
Azmar Town?
The same name of the town where Elivette stayed and where I first transmigrated.
As I put the puzzle pieces together, I think I know who saved Elivette at the time of my transmigration when she was almost taken advantage of.
It would have been Allerick right? Penny told me that it was a gentleman who had saved me, but she should have recognized Allerick Rousselle as she had seen him a couple of times already.
Maybe he instructed someone to do so afraid that his identity would be found out?
"I understand My Lord, thank you for telling me." I ended the topic as I'm afraid he'd be suspicious of my questions.
It makes sense why that guy is here. He must have gone back to the town and by that time, we had already left.
Now that I know that the woman Allerick has been trying to find was me, I don't know what to feel.
How am I going to tell the old man that the woman his son is looking for is now in front of him?
I'm afraid of what Lord Victor will think of me if he found out about it.
He had been so kind to me all this time, and I don't want our relationship to end.
He asked, "Is there anything that you want to ask Lady Rose?" and I shook my head.
I hear another sigh, "Then I'll leave in a while. I still have to go over some files. Being a Duke can be exhausting sometimes." I can't help but think that although having a title brings you wealth, it must also have been difficult.
It didn't take long before Lord Victor left.
As it was already afternoon and I didn't have any client or patron to entertain, I removed the roses and petals from the side of my head.
I couldn't help but think about Allerick.
Why is that guy so love struck with Elivette? If only Elivette chose Allerick throughout the book, she would have lived such a satisfying life as I know Allerick will treat her will.
But of course as a cannon fodder, she has to make choices that will end her life.
She was obsessed with the idea of marrying Zealan Phyrros, having people to put you in a pedestal as you look down to them was what Elivette had always dreamed of.
And being Zealan's Queen Consort can give her exactly that.
Thinking about it, I just can't let Allerick keep trying to find me, right? That guy had saved me, provided me with a cottage to stay in.
He must have been worried when he came back to the town and not find Elivette.
The least I can do is tell him that I'm fine and to stop looking for me.
With that in mind, I wrote a letter addressing to him. It was just concise. In the bottom right I signed it with Elivette's signature from what I can remember.
"Tell his people to find Allerick Rousselle and give this to him." I instructed Penny and handed the envelope to her.
"Lord Allerick? Why is that My Lady?" Penny asked with confusion all over her face, I decided to tell her what I know and she gasped.
"Oh my, then I'll do so My Lady." Penny left and I waited for her.
By the time she came back, I couldn't help but ask when I saw her face pale, "What happened to you? Are you already that weary from delivering a letter?" I joked hoping for her just to laugh it off.
"My Lady, something had happened in Azmar."
My brows furrowed at her words, "What happened?" Was it that big enough to make her so apprehensive?
"You know that there are always 2 knights waiting when I deliver a letter, but when I did so awhile ago there was only one. When I inquired about the whereabouts of the other knight, the knight said that he had traveled to Azmar because of an incident that had occurred there. I was told that almost a thousand people died."
I felt my heart drop and my hand grew cold when I heard her words.
What the hell happened?
To think that a thousand people died.
In my mind, a small child with a cute smile and an elderly man with a warm countenance both appeared.
I sprang up to my feet, "Amos and Olivia... They must have been fine, right?" I asked in which I didn't get any answer.
"They must have been fine," I stated, trying to convince myself. "Do you know the details of what happened?" I asked to which Penny only shook her head.
"I'm sorry My Lady, the knight wouldn't tell me a word or so. What I only know is that what is happening in Azmar is perilous." I closed my eyes and images of the little girl and the old man kept on appearing.
"I just hope they are fine," I mumbled in a small voice.
"They will be My Lady. God wouldn't be so cruel to lovely people." I nodded at her words but I know it did nothing to convince me that they were okay.
I don't know why but I had a bad feeling.
I know that none of these are happening because it's my fault, but I wouldn't forgive myself once something happened to them.
