Chapter 23 - Bring me to your Prince

Once again, I was back in the hazy forest.

Realizing that it was yet another dream, I did not just stand and wait this time but instead I ran.I hurried in the direction I thought the woman would appear from.

My dream had just been repeating. There's nothing new to it, it is always the same thing.

A foggy and fuzzy forest, the cries of despair that gives one shiver to ran down their spine, and the shadows that ran past me.

This time I decided to see everything. I want to know what the hell this is all about.

As my feet grazed the wet grassland, I mustered the strength to go straight ahead and I was halted to my feel when I saw the woman again.

Around her were hundreds of corpses that lie. Some of them even had their eyes wide open and I could see that it was all black, their skin looked pale and their veins where popping out. They had their mouths wide open as if their soul was just sucked out.

I felt the blood running in my veins grew cold.

Who is she?

I fixed my gaze on the woman who looked like she was about to pass out anytime.

She took a step forward and another one.

Suddenly someone grabbed her, and tried to drag her but she knocked the shadow away from her.

I can see that they were talking to each other but all I could hear was buzzing.

The shadow left her and she continued walking, I felt her walk past me, and I continued to follow her, then she emerged on the same place that I will see her every time.

New shadows went for her and she fought without any hesitation.

Some lost their life, and some were injured enough to stop them from coming after her.

I stared at her.

I still don't understand what is going on.

Then the shadow that I was terrified of, came. He stood there, and just when he decided to step in, he was able to subdue and control her.

The woman was struggling, and was forced to her knees once again.

I can see and feel that she was screaming.

Enraged at what they all had done.

My dreams usually end in this part but this time it unbelievably did not.

Just as I thought she was going to be burned as what I had imagined, they did something different.

A worm like wiggly thing appeared on the shadow's hand, then it disappeared and a glow could be seen on the woman.

Was he inserting that on the woman's body?

I felt sweats form in the palm of my hand.

What are they gonna do to her?

Just as I thought it was the end of it, the woman grew brighter, like she's about to explode.

I can feel that she muttered a few words and suddenly a bright light shone from her body brighter than before, enough to blind anyone who had witnessed such light.

I closed my eyes to avoid the light and when I opened them once again I could see the ceiling of the room I was staying in.

I stood up and immediately grabbed a paper and a pen. I wrote everything that happened with accurate details as I was afraid that I 'd forget about it.

Only when I was done that I could finally relax and breathe properly.

That was the first time that I dreamed of it much longer.

So the woman died in the end?

Since the Prince had told me that the dreams might be connected to the Kingdom's fate, perhaps my dreams are also connected to what is happening in Azmar?

A day had passed since I knew about it and I've been really anxious about Amos and Olivia.

"My Lady? You're awake? It's still early, the sun hasn't risen." I heard Penny's voice.

Looking at the letter in my hand, I couldn't help but think about the request that the Prince has promised me.

"Oh you've already written a letter? I'll deliver i—"

I stood up, "No, I'll do it on my own."I firmly declared.

I have decided I'll give the letter to the prince personally and I'll use the request that he has promised me to know about what happened in Azmar and save Amos and Olivia.

"But My Lady, you're not allowed to go out."

"You stay here Penny, I'll come back in a while."

I grasped the hem of my dress and opened the door, without listening to a word she said, "My Lady! You shouldn't go out without the petals on your eyes or others will know that you faked your blindness."

I said, emphasizing each word, "You stay here." Penny nodded, noticing my seriousness.

I chose to exit through a different door outside rather than the main entrance by moving through the narrow hallways. I am extremely familiar with it because I frequently visit Penny in the servant's chamber, which had a door leading outside on one side.

I scanned the area from left to right to see if anyone was there, and when I didn't, I sighed with relief. When I opened the door, it was still entirely in the dark.

The door leads to where the carriages of the visitors usually park, since it's still early in the morning, no carriages can be seen.

The Prince had told me that his people would be waiting 24/7 outside.

Thinking about it, I didn't ask Penny where the Prince's people are located.

I didn't know about it.

Gosh,I was in such a hurry that I overlooked that information.

I was about to turn back but a flash of shadow appeared in my front and I almost stumbled back from the fright.

"What—" I immediately took a step back when I saw what that shadow was.

It was a man dressed entirely in black.

Don't tell me he's an assassin or some sort?

"What are you doing outside My Lady?" My brows furrowed when I heard his words.

Did he mistake me as someone else?

"Wh— Who the hell are you?"

"I'm one of the Prince's people assigned to protect you."

"What?"

"Why are you outside My Lady?" He asked once again.

I gathered myself.

"Are you the one who receives the letter?" I asked, thinking that he was the one Penny told me about.

"No, as what I've said My Lady, I am assigned to protect you. The Knight that receives your letter is on the other side of the building."

"I want you to bring me to your Prince." I commanded, leaving no room for rejection.

"I will deliver what you have to say to His Highness." The man said.

"No. I want to meet him." He stared at me for a while, and when he realized that no words could budge me, he nodded.

"Then I'll take you to him."
