"Why did it turn out like this?" I say as I am alone cleaning up all the trash in the courtyard after my embarrassing moment in front of the entire class. I keep blowing it when it comes to my magic. All I can do is heal things, specifically animals, and that's about it. I mean, I even tried to cast spells back home and I still made a mess of my own home and work space. How am I supposed to prove to the headmaster that I am capable of being a student here? Not to mention, Victor saw me at my worst, and even got hurt because of me.
As I go to pick up another piece of trash, someone else picks it up for me. I look up to see Victor, trash in hand. His cape is still hanging around his shoulders, and he doesn't seem to be wincing in pain anymore. But he left with the class. How could he be back so fast?
"Thought I'd help out," his voice was so smooth and calm. His gaze still has a hold over me, no matter how hard I try to not let it. My heart flutters.
