"Be honest with me, Lucifer. How much time do I have left, I know that I have less than a year to live left." Iris simply chuckled as she patted Irene's head gently, she knew her time was already coming, and before that time came she wanted to set up her granddaughter who would inherit the family.
But Irene wasn't having any of it, she looked at her grandmother sternly because it was one of the things that she didn't want to hear ever even though she herself knew that there would be a time when it would come. But her heart simply refuses it because she loves her grandmother too much and she is afraid to lose her.
"Come on now, you know that I can help you in advancing right? My help still stands today… but if your answer is still the same… then the least that I can do is do your wish. I'll definitely help them, but you know me. If they can't show me what I want, I will drop them." Mio said and she deliberately ignored Iris's question because she didn't want to break Irene's heart even more.
"You didn't answer my question… but oh well. We will see in the future, maybe you can still change my mind or someone else can change my mind. You already know the reason why I don't see any reason to live anymore, ever since my husband died, it felt like half of me died. The only thing that I wanted to do was to raise my children and when I finally did my job I thought of killing myself so that I could join him, but then I saw my grandchildren and they sparked another light in my heart. But that light is slowly dying." Iris calmly answered as she rejected the idea of living any longer because that was the last thing she wanted to happen.
When Irene heard her grandmother's words, she was speechless because she didn't expect to hear such a thing from her, she was heartbroken because she wasn't expecting her to say something like that. She have heard of stories of her grandmother and grandfather and how they were before, but she didn't think that it would hurt her grandmother this much when she lost him.
"Nevermind… no matter how powerful I am I can never resurrect the dead. Only a God can do that." Mio sighed as she didn't say anything more and just talked about some random stuff and while she was talking with the three, she saw her three students in a corner while talking to themselves.
But it was just normal as they didn't really have anything to say about her as she was basically their elder, much greater than their grandparents to be exact. Plus none of them would really know what to talk with her and as Mio took notice of this she approached all of them before opening her mouth to question them.
"You three… are all of you still active in school?" Mio simply asked but because she was acting as the Goddess right now she came off cold which she didn't want to but she had to as there would be some suspicion if she didn't.
"Ummm… yes! We are all active in school, we are studying in Dynasty of Death Academy, and we are all in our 2nd year right now." Xian'er was the one to answer as the two were simply too stunned to answer and when Mio saw this, she simply chuckled before saying something.
"You don't need to be too tense, you are a family of those three. So you can consider me as your Aunt because they are my friends, but are all of you really ready if you were to train under me? Because you will be in the same group with the legendary Heroes as I already planned to teach all of them in one place instead of teaching them individually." Mio simply asked them and waited for their answer.
The three didn't answer immediately and just looked at each other because they also didn't know what to say. They didn't even know that this was the intention of their grandparents to let them train under her, but they felt like if they refused now that Mio had already agreed it would be disrespectful to her, and none of them wanted to do that because it might bring down their whole family.
"You three are quite funny? I'm not forcing you to train with me, I only said that because of those three. The choice is still ultimately to you, I never force anyone other than my enemies. So don't think too much about it, you can refuse if you want." Mio laughed as she looked at the three old people behind her and when she saw them nod their heads she was glad.
"If the Goddess is truly fine with it, then it is our pleasure to be taught under you! We will do our best to meet your expectations." Irene said as she kneeled on one knee and the other two followed and greeted her as Master.
Mio only nodded at this and in her mind there was no way that she was going to refuse these three as she already had plans to take all three under her wing but also the addition of Chisato, Liam, Ji-Woo, and Kaori as they were the best students among Class F.
But just as she was about to say something about that, she saw something interesting that was in Irene's chest, in her chest there was a hair that she clearly remembered because it was the one that she enchanted using her Magic Circles.
"You have a Rainbow Rank weapon stuck or rather kept in your chest. That is quite amazing to see, never would I think that a hair could do something like that." Mio chuckled as she didn't expect Irene to always carry that weapon wherever she went and that weapon was very strong, it could even damage her slightly due to how strong it was.
"That… it is made with Magic Circles, I can see all of them. Heh~ That brat it seems that she has already come out of her little hole, did the person who enchanted this name Mio Nanase?" As soon as those words came out of her mouth, the three were shocked because none of them would have expected her their abnormally strong and intelligent teacher to be actually acquainted with the Goddess.
"How do I know her? Well… let's just say that she was a brat who wouldn't leave the Grand Saintess unless she taught her. Because of that she complied and actually taught her on the premise that she would also have to pass on her teachings to someone else, so I guess she really went with her promise. I'm guessing she is now a Teacher at your School?"
