EPISODE 302; THE RUPTURING; THE HOUSE OF SOARING LION TURTLES PART VI: SCOUTING FOR OLYMPUS; SONGS OF THE SEA
Saito and Jeannette, Ariel and Marina were discussing their plan to build and send out Unmanned Sub Aquatic Scouts.
"That plan has a lot of limitations. Mining for the minerals to build Scouts numerous enough to Scout the entire Ocean is very unfeasible. The Ocean is a very vast domain and the Mountain Of Olympus could be anywhere" Jeannette pointed out.
"So it appears we are finally reaching the limits of our House's Technological Capabilities huh?" Marina realized.
"In that case, Ariel and I will have to resort to our powers as Dreamweavers once more. Got any ideas Ariel?" Saito asked.
"What if we turned the Sea itself into our ally?" Ariel suggested.
"Turn the Sea itself into our Ally? What do you mean Ariel?" Saito asked.
"All manner of Living Creatures, both the familiar and strange inhabit every depth of the Ocean. They all have their own unique quirks for sensing their environment and making use of the resources within the Ocean. We could just ask them nicely with the Sagittarius System and merge some aspects of the Sagittarius System with the Pyrostellis Luminares so we can comprehend their feedback" Ariel said.
"You mean…talking to animals and plants?" Saito sighed skeptically.
"Not so much of talking but rather communication. We humans mostly rely on vocalization to get our point across to one another but in the Wild, Vocalization is a rather limited form of Communication. It's not irrelevant…just limited and that is why it's tough for animals to understand humans without training or for one human to understand another who speaks a foreign language. It's because most of us humans have come to believe that vocalization or talking is the only way to communicate. Instead of communicating with nature on its Wavelength, we've been trying to get nature to communicate on ours and we give way too much attention solely to vocalization" Ariel explained.
"I kinda get where you are coming from. Is there a way around this issue?" Saito asked.
"How about I show you instead of just telling you? Link with my mind via the Pyrostellis Luminares and ensure that Jeannette can receive the info I am about to broadcast. I'll ensure that Marina can as well" Ariel said.
Saito activated the Pyrostellis Luminares and linked all four of their minds.
"First of all, as you know, there are Five Natural Senses namely Sight which relies on Photons or Light, Hearing which relies on Phonons or Vibration, simply put Sound, Scent and Taste which rely on Chemical Signalling which is why there is a correspondence between Taste and Scent and why it is sometimes possible to taste in certain items a hint of their smell and finally Touch which relies on Mechanical Forces. Each of these Senses has an extension for the particular Sense. For instance, Intuition is commonly associated either with Sight or with the Gut or Stomach. It is especially associated with the Gut when the feeling has to do with a warning of danger. Emotion on the other hand is often associated with Touch as in being touched by a person's kindness, a beautiful song or inspirational words, Sound is often associated with Spirit hence the saying 'every word has a Spirit with the power to either create or destroy' or 'the Pen is mightier than the Sword'. Basically, there is a 'Unique Depth all Sounds have' that has the power to 'touch' or 'evoke feeling' in Humans. Scent on the other hand is often associated with either 'Curiousity' or 'Suspicion' basically, the 'desire to learn' or 'the feeling that something is out of place'. In a sense also, 'the nose is the gateway to the Stomach' hence the saying 'nothing that fails the test of the nose should enter into the stomach'" Ariel explained.
"I see the proverb about being cautious of the Snake in the Garden…the story of Genesis huh?" Saito asked.
The Sensory Experiences of the info Ariel was broadcasting was relayed directly to the Senses of all Four Girls.
"Every Living Species has a Unique Spectrum Of Perception for each of their Senses meaning they either perceive more or less than we humans perceive on a particular Sense. Dogs for instance have better senses of Smell which is why they are often used as Guards. Cats on the other hand have better senses of Sight which is why they are often considered as Shrewd Creatures. Bees, Butterflies and Birds have better Senses of Orientation and Navigation which to some extent explains their ability to organize themselves. Sharks, Bats, Moles and Whales have better perception of Sound. This means each Species perceives their environment slightly differently than other species and this is not a haphazard arrangement but corresponds to their peculiar needs. For instance, the brilliant eyesight of Cats was adapted to better help them hunt at Night…in the Dark. The brilliant Perception Of Sound associated with Bats, Whales, Moles and Sharks were adapted to help them better hunt…in the Depths where Light could not penetrate. The Senses Of Orientation and Navigation associated with Birds and Bees were adapted…to better help them understand their Positions in the Air…and in relation to other Flying Creatures and also to escape inhospitable Climates and to search for Food. Do you get it? The Senses of each Species is adapted to their peculiar needs" Ariel explained.
"I see so what we may perceive as intelligible may sound like incoherent noise to some Species and this applies to all Sensory input" Saito realized.
"Which is why we also perceive most of their actions and vocalizations as incoherent" Marina realized.
"Exactly, animals that usually react positively to human vocalization do not necessarily do that because they comprehend the vocalization but rather because they have learnt through training to associate the vocalization of the human with a reward they will receive if they react in a particular way or a negative reaction on the part of the human. In the Wild however, the true communication amongst the Species is a mix of Sensory Information and Instinct…simply put, animals rely more on the Concept Of Auras than humans do. They observe the reactions of other Wildlife and associate it with either safety or danger…then they respond. This response mostly reveals itself in Biological Reactions which animals of their own kind or other species may be able to perceive more than humans can. This is why to some extent there is some level of interspecies communication in the Wild than communication between Humans and Wildlife or even Humans who speak and understand different languages. Our gift of speech is what differentiates us from animals…but it has also in a sense become our greatest barrier to understanding each other and the Nature around us. It is from our Speech we derive our Organization and our Culture but this has also caused us to underestimate the Culture and Organization of the Wild. We communicate more with Vocalization while animals communicate more with Auras" Ariel explained.
"I understand…the proverb regarding the Tower Of Babel huh?" Saito said.
"In order to truly communicate with any creature in the Wild, you first need to understand the full Spectrum of their Senses…what falls within the range of their senses and what exists outside this range…then you need to interact directly with their senses utilizing the devices or imagery that falls within their comprehension…instead of simply trying to get them to see things as we humans do" Ariel said.
"Now it's Pentecost huh?" Saito chuckled slightly.
As Saito's psyche showed her the details of what Ariel was communicating, she noticed Ariel simultaneously communicating with all the Sea Life in their own Sensory Languages. To some species, she utilized imagery. To some like the Whales, Sharks and Dolphins, the Pyrostellis Luminares converted the imagery to vocalizations which were either of high or low frequencies. Low Frequencies carried messages that were of more gravity or of a more serious nature whereas higher frequencies carried messages of a more lighthearted nature. To others like the Fish, Ariel utilized the Mechanical Forces Of The Ocean and the Kinetic Forces of its currents. Whenever she 'spoke' of the Weaver Of Calamity, the 'pressure' of the Oceans became greater and the Waves almost carried the Fish away but when she spoke of the Mountain Of Olympus, the Waves were gentle and soothing. When communicating with the Marine Creatures that made the Choral their home, Ariel utilized a mixture of Chemical Signals and Mechanical Forces. She showed them the Weaver Of Calamity's Forces in the form of a mixture of toxic chemicals and showed them the Mountain Of Olympus in the form of energy they needed to metabolize. Her communication with the Choral was particularly splendid since the Choral seemed to view the Ocean as a Field within which Chemical Reactions and Mechanical Forces were constantly being generated as a result of the Ocean Currents and Waves as well as the Metabolic and Biological Activities Of The Ocean Life that called the Choral home. The Choral Life signalled to one another via multiple means such as discharging Chemical Signals into the Ocean which other Choral Life could pick up, interpret and react to depending on whether the Signals connoted danger or safety. By so doing, in this short time, Ariel had gotten the Life in the Ocean to understand that the Weaver Of Calamity's Forces were a danger to them and Olympus was a place of safety. Jeannette, Marina and Saito watched the interactions play out in awe.
"You never told me you could communicate with Animals and Plants!" Saito exclaimed in awe.
"You can thank Mom and Dad's history for that. Without the Pyrostellis Luminares, this would have been impossible and even if we did achieve it, it would still have been with limited range" Ariel sighed. "With this we have more capable scouts than Machines" she said.
"You Guardians are really something" Marina and Jeannette were surprised themselves.
