Another week passed and Aileen I returned to tutor Arlene.
"Do you recall what I told you earlier regarding the four parameters which your Sigil would be able to capture data about?" Aileen I asked.
"Yes, you said the first parameter was the Geographical Layout of the terrain allowing me to capture data regarding key features and terrain layout. The second parameter would allow me to capture data regarding movement within the terrain. The third parameter would allow me to capture data regarding the resources within the terrain and the fourth parameter would allow me to capture data regarding the Climate of the said terrain" Arlene realized.
"We previously dealt with the first parameter. Now we're moving on to the second parameter. The second parameter has to do with movement within the terrain" Aileen I said as the surrounding terrain was altered.
Arlene now found herself looking down from a Mountain at what appeared to be a Town.
"Scan this Town with your Sigil" Aileen I instructed.
Arlene obeyed. Arlene could now see multiple figures moving about the map in her Sigil. They were like colour coded circles.
"I'm sure you've already realized the significance of the colours behind each of these figures in your Sigil's Map" Aileen I said.
"Yes, the colours represent the Elemental Affinities of each of the figures captured by my Sigil. I can click on the figures for more info. For instance, let's check out this Crimson Circle" Arlene said and touched the Crimson Circle within the map in her Sigil.
More info about that figure appeared.
"It says here that this figure has an affinity for the Crimson Flames Of Vitality" Arlene said and touched a marine blue figure next.
"This figure on the other hand has an affinity for Water. The colours assigned to each of these figures are indicative of their Elemental Affinities" Arlene explained.
"Good, good, now watch all these figures closely and tell me what you think of their movement" Aileen I informed Arlene.
"Their movement appears to be random" Arlene said.
Aileen I chuckled slightly.
"Do you really think so?" she asked.
"They're not?" Arlene wondered.
"Observe more closely and be patient. The shorter the timelapse of observation the more random their movements appear to be but be patient and observe over a longer period and you'll notice something quite interesting" Aileen I said and pointed.
Arlene observed the Town over days with Aileen I.
"You're right. Their movements are not random at all. Early in the daytime, the Colour Coded Circles mix together. In the afternoons however, they group together with dots of the same colour. In the evenings, they mix together all over the map once more irrespective of colour" Arlene realized.
"What does that tell you about the Town you're currently observing?" Aileen I asked.
"It tells me that the people living in the Town are habitual and follow clearly defined patterns. In the daytime and evenings, they probably act individualistically doing things their own way and not giving much thought to well-defined groups. However, in the afternoons, the people of the Town organize themselves according to affinity and act together in well-defined groups and organizations" Arlene realized.
"Exactly right. You're brilliant for figuring this out. If this were adversary territory, what do you think the best time to attack would be?" Aileen I asked.
"In the Morning or at Night when the people of the town are less organized" Arlene noted.
"Right again. As members of the Atlas Bloodline, our Sigils grant us the ability to track adversary habits via their movements. Repetitive actions give us a clue as to the adversary's priorities and can inform us of the best way to mount an offensive or a counteroffensive" Aileen I explained.
"The ancient saying 'Information is Power' really holds true" Arlene realized.
"Or as the Weaver Of Calamity and Decay the fifth soul of evil originally put it, 'he who holds knowledge over another is master of the other'" Aileen I said.
Arlene laughed.
"Should we really be giving credence to any of the Weaver Of Calamity's sayings?" Arlene asked.
"'To defeat your enemy, you must know your enemy and yourself.' That saying is also true" Aileen I said seriously.
"I see, this is quite similar to the Scorpio System's Ecological Trace Mode Functionality. In which case, the only way to counter this ability is via the Sagittarius System" Arlene realized.
