Chapter 177 - EPISODE 178; THE LUMINOUS BLOODLINE LIMIT! THE PYROSTELLIS LUMINARES PART VII: MATERIAL LIGHT PART VI: ‘PYROSTELLIS’; THE FIERY STAR PART II: DIFFRACTION OF LIGHT AND DISPERSION OF HEAT!

We spent our free time training as usual. Concordia was becoming more proficient at utilizing raw elements and her Extra-Sensory Perception with regards to her Wind Abilities greatly improved. I on the other hand worked on increasing my Physical and Spiritual Fortitude as well as my Stamina in order to allow me to draw out more of my Cape's latent abilities while minimizing the backlash effect. Everyone else did their own independent training. Concordia, Mitsuki and Arlene occasionally tutored Ciella in Combat Techniques as well. My Dad eventually returned to teach us more.

"Today, I'll be teaching you about another unique phenomenon that Material Light possesses the capacity to exhibit. This phenomenon is known as Diffraction and can only occur when either Transparent or Translucent Materials serve as a medium for Light" my Dad explained.

"We're listening" I said with a smirk.

"The ability of a Planet to sustain Life to a large extent depends on the atmosphere surrounding the Planet. The atmosphere surrounding a Planet determines a number of things including how much Sunlight makes contact with the surface of the Planet as well as the amount of Heat that dominates the Planet's surface or simply put, the Planet's Temperature" my Dad explained.

We listened closely. Ciella, Concordia and Arlene appeared to be particularly interested in this topic. As I explained earlier, the thickness or thinness of a Planet's atmosphere can determine how likely it is to support Life. The thickness or thinness of a Planet's atmosphere is to a large extent determined by the vastness of the Oceans that dominate the Planet's surface. The greater the surface area of the Oceans, the thicker the atmosphere of the Planet. The lesser the surface area of the Oceans, the thinner the atmosphere of the Planet. The reason for this is the evaporation that occurs when the Heat radiated by the Sun makes contact with a Planet's Oceans" my Dad explained.

"What has that got to do with Diffraction?" I asked curiously, well…half curiously.

"Just as the Water ingested by Living Organisms insulate their bodies against Heat, the same goes for Planets but on a much larger Scale. A Planet's atmosphere isn't composed only of gases but of Vapour as well. When the Light radiated by the Sun makes contact with the Vapour present in a Planet's atmosphere, it may diffract from White Light into Seven different Spectra each falling under one of the three Major Spectra of Visible Light, mainly, Red, Green and Blue. The Seven Visible Colours the White Light emanating from the Sun typically diffract into are also commonly referred to as 'The Colours Of The Rainbow'. In other words, they are the Colours Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. These are the main spectra that make up Material Light and can be perceived by the Human Eyes. As the droplets of Water diffract the Light radiated by a Star or Sun, the beam of Light loses focus and as it loses focus, the Heat radiated by the Sun is dispersed as well. You encountered a similar trial in the Hall Of Time" my Dad explained.

"Oh, the Solar Death Ray Formation!" I realized and punched my palm.

"Exactly" my Dad said.

"I see, so just as Living Beings drink Water to insulate their bodies from Heat, Planets insulate their surfaces from the Heat radiated by their Star via the Vapour present in their atmospheres. This Vapour diffracts the White Light radiated by the Sun or Star into its Seven Visible Component Spectra each falling under one of the three Major Categories Of Visible Light mainly Red, Green and Blue right?" I realized.

"Exactly, it's through the Diffraction Of Light and the Dispersal Of Heat that Planets protect their surfaces from direct radiation by the Sun's White Light" my Dad said.

"The Seven Visible Spectra the White Light radiated by the Sun diffract into determines everything ordinarily visible to Living Beings especially Humans. These compose Material Light" Keiran realized.
