Chapter 137 - EPISODE 137; THE CHRONOLOGICAL/HOROLOGICAL BLOODLINE LIMIT! MONOCHRON PART XVII: THE TRIAL OF TIME PART VII: THE VIRTUAL MIRROR OF THE DREAM AND REAL WORLDS!

The Flames in the Hall drastically reduced in strength as a result of all the Vapour entering the Hall through its Ceiling. As the Flames continued to diminish in size, a bridge was revealed.

"Look! A bridge!" Ciella pointed excitedly.

We crossed the bridge carefully and found a large door at the other side of the Hall with a Key lodged in its Keyhole like the previous door had. I turned the Key and unlocked the door. With Keiran's help, we pushed the door open and came into another large Hall. This Hall had raised ground like the previous Halls had and had a bridge connecting where we stood to the other end of the Hall however we noticed the bridge swaying strongly.

"There's a strong Wind in this Hall" Concordia noted.

"And it's a pretty hot Wind too" Arlene realized.

We approached the edge of the crevice we apparently stood on and noticed what appeared to be a sea of flames beneath the bridge.

"There are even vents in this Ceiling just like the previous Halls had. Think we can cross the bridge?" Ciella asked.

"I don't think so. The bridge is swaying a little too strongly. The Wind in this room seems to be coming from the Vents in the Ceiling" Keiran noted.

"But how could the Air from the Vents produce such a strong Wind?" Concordia asked.

"It's the Heat in this room that's responsible" I said seriously.

"The Heat?" Ciella wondered.

"Keiran, why don't you explain? I think they'd understand you better" I said.

"Well…do you recall what Concordia's Dad and our relatives taught us about the Elemental Balance, specifically with regards to Amplifiers?" Keiran asked.

The others nodded.

"Some elements possess the ability to amplify the effects of other elements. For Wind, a very common amplifier is Heat. In the presence of Heat, a gentle breeze can be transformed into a Storm. On its own the air flowing from the Vents would not be quite as strong and it wouldn't be able to cause much damage however in the presence of Heat, the molecules of air are agitated and move more rapidly transforming the breeze into a strong Wind. We can't risk crossing the bridge while the Heat's still in effect" Keiran explained.

"So we need to reduce the temperature of this Hall?" Arlene realized.

"Exactly" Keiran said.

"This Flame might be enchanted as well. If that's the case, only the Lake Water will be able to put it out" Arlene said.

"Then that's what we'll do. Concordia, could you scan past the Vents in the Ceiling to find out whether or not this Hall is connected to the two previous Halls?" I asked.

Concordia nodded and sent her Scout Dust.

"Yep, this Hall is connected to the previous field where we quenched the Fire as well as the Lake Field" Concordia reported.

"Then it's about time I began to utilize the Seal Of Jo-lan" I said.

"The Seal Of Jo-lan?" everyone wondered.

"Well, this is going to be a bit tough to explain. Concordia, you recall when you were summoned to help me hone my precision while I was in my Gramps' Castle?" I asked.

Concordia nodded.

"Well, during the three hour Nightmare Rampage that occurred during the Solar Eclipse, my Gramps taught me to release certain limiters of power. However, at the moment I first attempted to release a limiter, my body wasn't quite prepared so I nearly exhausted my Vitality. However, the strain my body had to endure in hindsight strengthened my body's cells granting me immense physical strength. Much more strength than I could handle thus every simple movement caused me to utilize more force than was necessary. That was why my Gramps summoned you Concordia, because as an Archer, precision is a very natural trait you have. Now to get to the matter at hand, there are Seven Limiters Of Power, each of them grant a unique set of abilities. The Limiter Of Endregen for instance sharpens Awareness granting one the ability to perceive and interact with invisible and alternate realities. The Limiter Of Kolmnid is also known as the Limiter Of Balance and grants a theoretical knowledge of Elements as well as knowledge of each Element's associated Nullifier. A fundamental principle governing this Limiter is that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The third Limiter is the Limiter Of Ferren having Wisdom as its theme. Here, one learns the value of Strategy in contrast to relying solely on brute force. That brings me to the Fourth Limiter, the Limiter Of Jo-lan. This Limiter is known as the Advanced Practical Elemental Seal. Unlike with the Seal Of Kolmnid where one learns of the Element's nature and characteristics as well as the associated Nullifier to each Element, the Seal Of Jo-lan focuses on each Element's unique properties into detail as well as the contexts to which each element can be appropriately applied. It also focuses on how each element acts to balance Nature" I explained.

"Wait a sec…but the order in which the Seals are arranged…it's quite similar to XCalibur AOP's levels" Concordia realized.

"Well, aside from my Gramps and I, my Dad is the only other person that can utilize these Limiters. The storyline of the Game was designed by my Dad" I explained.

"So your Dad's trying to teach us how to utilize these Limiters?" Arlene wondered.

"The abilities of these Seals require a tremendous amount of physical and spiritual fortitude to utilize them ordinarily. Ordinarily, only those who possess the required level of physical and spiritual fortitude can utilize them however, by conceptualizing these abilities into the development of the Game, one could break down the abilities allowing anyone to utilize them as long as they are able to understand them. For instance, during gameplay, Ciella can utilize Flame simply by causing Friction in the Air. In the Real World, it would take much more effort to utilize Flame that way. To put it simply, the concept behind the abilities in itself is not flawed. The Game has created a setting where we get to see how these abilities function naturally. However, a lot of effort would be required to implement these abilities in the Real World. For instance birds can fly. Humans may be able to fly in the Virtual or Dream Worlds without any aid however, to utilize the same skill in Reality, one would need to develop Flight Aids like Airplanes and the like. Without prior knowledge of how these abilities work, it would be difficult to conceptualize them from scratch however if one is able to at least experience and conceptualize the abilities theoretically, they would be able to utilize these skills even in reality by developing the necessary aids. It's like turning the Magic present in the Dream World into Technology that can be utilized in the Real World" I explained.

"I see…the ability to convert these unique abilities into tools anyone can use after acquiring the required knowledge huh?" Arlene realized.

"Yeah, however, the skills themselves have a unique restriction imposed upon their conceptual knowledge such that anyone who desires to use them for ill will never be able to draw out their full potential" I explained.
