Everyone seemed amazed by this revelation.
"Is that a good idea?" Concordia wondered.
"Well, the greatest concern would be that if the skills are converted to tools that can be used by anybody, the likelihood of them being used for evil also exists. It would be like giving someone who could already utilize an arrow, a gun" Arlene also seemed worried.
"I know that. That's why the restriction imposed on the conceptual knowledge of the skill is one of heart. A person's reality is in a sense defined by the state of their heart. The state of one's heart can define what is visible or invisible to a person. A person who desired to utilize the skills for evil would find them useless. It would be like asking the Weaver Of Calamity to tend a garden…we all know the garden would burn to ashes" I said.
Everyone laughed at that.
"I see what you mean" Ariel said.
"Or it might be like asking the Weaver Of Calamity to cure a patient of an ailment, we all know the ailment would become chronic" I said.
Ariel laughed.
"I see…so these skills would be antithetical to the goals of anyone who desired to use them for harm. In their eyes it would all be useless" Saito realized.
"Besides, isn't this how the Dream World has always worked that any worthwhile tool we can now utilize in Reality sprang from a Dream, a Goal, an Ambition or an Ideal?" I asked.
"You're right. Every tool before it was actually created began as an idea. In that, the laws governing its operation already existed in the Dream World. By assembling various principles present in the Dream World or in an idea and correlating them with principles governing the Natural World, Tools are born out of Ideas" Arlene realized.
"So this isn't really anything new. It's how the Dream and Real Worlds have always interacted with each other. And we're Dream Knights. When we're not fighting off Nightmares, we're supposed to be guiding the rest of humanity towards the fulfilment of their Dreams. If any human dreams of utilizing these skills and their desire is a good one, I don't see how helping them make their Dreams come true is a bad thing" I said.
"You're right" Saito said.
"Besides, this whole dilemma with the Weaver Of Calamity began when Zanfar started to steal and corrupt the Dreams Of Humans. When a Dream is destroyed, bitterness is left for the one whose Dream was destroyed and when they begin to take out their bitterness on others, chaos erupts in the Real World fuelling Zanböngfar's strength. When a Dream is fulfilled on the other hand, there is contentment and satisfaction. The one whose Dream was fulfilled may be inspired to aid others in doing the same ushering in periods of great peace and prosperity. You recall what the boss of this game is don't you?" I asked everyone.
Their eyes widened in realization.
"Zanböngfar's influence!" they realized.
"Exactly, we're not combatting a person. The Weaver Of Calamity is not a person who simply disappears after being vanquished. What we're combatting is an ideal. A sentient but very sinister ideal" I said seriously.
"And ideals can only be combatted via ideals. As Dreamweavers, we are human however…we are also part Dream and part Nightmare. To protect the cattle…you must become the cattle" I said.
The phrase took on a whole new meaning for my siblings.
"I see…that's why twenty three years ago…that constellation. It now makes sense why your Dad dived into Zanböngfar's energy, neutralized it and absorbed it" Concordia said.
"He's probably waiting for us at the top of the Mountain…where his will and the Weaver Of Calamity's will are constantly clashing" I said.
"Well then, we can't keep Dad waiting. He's always in a bad mood whenever we come home late" Keiran said with a smirk.
