Mitsuki's Dad, our Uncle, Prince, continued to tutor us regarding Time.
"One trait of Time is the trait of Significance or Symbolism" Prince explained.
"Significance or Symbolism?" I wondered.
"Ariel mentioned something similar as she compiled our Elemental Medical Repository" Saito recalled.
"Yes, it's thanks to this trait of Significance or Symbolism that all days are not treated alike. There are days that are considered special, days that mark an event we do not want to forget. Such days are celebrated repeatedly with the passage of Time. These Days are Days Of Festivity. It is for this reason that Time is also considered the Element Of Significance or Symbolism" Prince explained.
"I see…kinda like Birthdays huh?" Ciella realized.
"Exactly" Prince said.
"Days such as these tend to inspire a deep appreciation for Life" Arlene said with a smile.
"Yup" Mitsuki nodded with a smile.
"Leaving that aside, there are certain times that evoke physiological changes over a person. Such Times include Times Of Day for instance. Have you ever wondered why people sleep at Night instead of during the Day?" Prince asked.
I shook my head.
"At Night, there is usually silence for one thing. For another, there is coolness in contrast to the heat of the day when the Sun is up. This coolness evokes a feeling of Tranquility in the body of most Living Beings especially those that are not nocturnal triggering sleep which regenerates damaged body cells we lost during the day and restores our Mental Fortitude. During Daytime on the other hand, when the Sun is high, the body absorbs and releases a lot of energy allowing us to work. There are even times of the day when Blood Circulation is more active than at other times. Blood Circulation is typically believed to be higher in the Heat Of The Day than at Night. A person who understands the effects of Time on themselves and on their surroundings tends to make the most of Time" Prince explained.
We paid close attention to him. We could understand the points he was trying to make.
"Among many other things Time determines 'what' is appropriate and what is not as well as 'when' a situation is appropriate and when it is not. An instance of this is the Planting Season. It is for instance inappropriate to sow crops during the Dry Season. A farmer for instance begins to cultivate crops when they notice signs of Rainfall. There's a reason for instance as to why Ants begin to gather food when the Winter approaches. A situation is usually appropriate when it doesn't conflict with 'Climate' or 'Atmospheres'. To do otherwise would be like a boatman trying to sail against the direction of the Wind or a person attempting to push a heavy cart up a Mountain and anyone can see what the likely result of that would be" Prince explained.
"Are you trying to say it's best to go with the flow?" Concordia wondered.
"All I'm trying to say is that there are times when going with the flow is the appropriate thing to do and there are times when it is not. That is when discernment is necessary after all even Amphibians used to live solely on Land or in the Sea until Geological Events made their homes inhospitable. At times like that even Nature teaches that the appropriate thing to do is to adapt hence Amphibians today can live on both the Land and in the Sea" Prince said.
"Discernment huh?" Mitsuki wondered.
"Exactly, read the Climate before taking action. What might be effective in one situation may be disastrous in another situation hence each problem has a unique instead of a general solution. General Solutions tend to be guidelines that should help one zone in on a potent solution" Prince explained.
