Ciella and I got to work constructing our own navigation equipment. The first utilized the echolocation via sound concept to map out the Waves Of The Ocean flowing towards our Islands and thus help us navigate past obstacles safely.
The second was mainly an Optical Device. However, unlike Keiran's and Concordia's devices that beamed back images from their Islands' Perimeters, our devices were mostly made of Omnidirectional Prisms set all about a special image capture device. A person would stand in the midst of the devices which would scan and map out their physique via rays of Light. The scanned image would then be beamed through the prisms to reconstruct a three dimensional representation of the person after aligning shades of colour to shape and adding focus as Keiran's devices did.
Auxiliary flotation devices lined with highly reflective mirrors would then be sent all the way around our Islands extending in all directions. Some mirrors were elevated and some were lowered. The elevated and lowered mirrors were aligned to face one another. Then there were mirrors set to the right and to the left, also facing one another. Between the devices containing the Mirrors were Magnification Lenses.
The three dimensional image which was a Virtual Avatar of the one standing in the Image Capture Device and reconstructed via the use of Prisms and devices that realigned colour and set it to the shape of the object would then be converted into a Wave Of Light which would then be beamed through a Magnification Device in the direction of a Mirror Device. The Mirror Device would refract the Light and send the Avatar of the one standing in the centre of the Prisms into a Magnification Device to restore focus and strength of the beam, then relay the beam to another Mirror which would then beam the Avatar Of The Person further. At the end of the beam's journey, was a Reflective Device that would reflect the beam back through a Magnification Device to another Mirror and thus send it back to the Island via a different route.
The images would then be reconstructed in Realtime thus the Bridge Crew could monitor all directions in Realtime in hopes of finding other Continents, Ships or Islands. By realigning and adjusting the Mirrors, direction could be altered and thus Crew Members could explore the Sea omnidirectionally.
On a Material Level, we couldn't bridge that distance so easily within a short period however, by surfing on Waves Of Light via Projected Avatars that were converted into these Waves and beamed, we could now achieve Lightspeed Travel which could be utilized for scouting and exploration purposes.
Reflection and Refraction were the keys to extending our range and altering our direction. The Mirrors were mapped to special Control Devices aboard our Islands that allowed us to experience our Lightspeed Travel in an immersive way. The Bidirection Of The Light Waves was the Key that allowed us to beam our Avatars out to Sea, then beam them backwards for reconstruction of the images they perceived as well as the graphical representation of the Pathways our Avatars took.
By mapping that against the position of the Sun in both the source of transmission and destination and calculating the length of time it took for the Wave Of Light to reach its destination, we could map that calculation to the current speed of our Islands to determine how long it would take for us to reach that destination via our Islands.
At night, when the Islands were anchored, the Light Wave Surfing Devices were transformed into Lighthouses that beamed Light in multiple directions in hopes that one of our comrades would notice the Light and begin to travel towards it in our direction. So we basically scouted by day via our Avatars channeled through Waves Of Light. We were literally surfing on Light Waves. At night however, the Devices were transformed into Lighthouses that generated Pathways Of Brilliant Light that almost mimicked an Aurora to signal our comrades.
