Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: saving royalty

We only had to run for about an hour or so southwest till I saw a clearing of dirt in front of us a dirt road I mumbled how fascinating it literally just stopped at this point like it was a sign of if you go any further you will be stepping into wild lands that didn't belong to anyone I glanced back to Stream who was riding with Mesh yelling Stream has yall had a bandit problem she shrugged yelling back I don't know sir Azmo I have been too busy fighting against the demons to ask about such things I side nodding as I understood I waved my hand yelling on guard everyone shield formation and like that all the shield people surrounded are archers so if we do get attacked the shield users could protect the archers from any projectiles everyone of our shield users shields was made from steal even Shosa spartan shield was made from steal normally it would be way to heavy for someone to use property but the big guy was just fine with using it all though he might be the only one who could other than me these shields could even block musket balls and small caliber bullets all though anything above 9mm will punch right through it but I highly doubted this world even had firearms or at least modern firearms all although Gimli did say they had something called a boomstick from my understanding it was just flintlock weaponry that they gave that name but cleared my mind and we road on 30 minutes passed with the woods around is changing the farther we follow this round it was looking way more like a rain forest huge tresses that was spaced out greatly we hadn't met any on the road yet on less you count a huge frog that was the size of a bulldog it didn't last long Artemis ripped that thing in half before it could ribbit in fear but is when I seen a cross road in front of us and something suspicious was happening there was 3 makeshift carts blocking the path of one fancy looking carriage that had 5 fully armored man on house back around the carriage but for the carts I only seen one man sitting on top of them he had on flack armor and a crossbow in his hands but that didn't seem right y would the Carriage stop just for one man so I used my echolocation and that's when I sensed 20 other figures 15 was hiding behind the carts and on the sides of the road in makeshift trenches but over the top of these trenches was a thin wood slab that was covered in dirt and grass these trenches were placed on either side of the carriage for maximum effect but the 5 other beings I sensed was hiding in the trees I seen crossbows in their hands I held up my hand stopping everyone Shosa road next to me asking what is it Azmo it was obvious that they couldn't see what was ahead of us yet but that wasn't to surprising a lot of my abilities allowed me to sense an area around me but I licked my lips saying bandits they are blocking the road of a fancy carriage lets see and I looked over this fancy carriage it was made from wood painted blue and white I seen light blue curtains hanging in it two well groomed and fed horses the man guards well armed and armored but they didn't fly any flag which I thought was strange till I seen what was painted on the side of the door s white swan with two swords crossed behind it a very strange design but hi everyone has there own tastes I guess Stream, Gimli do either of you know of anyone who flies the colors of a white swan with two swords crossed behind it Gimli shook his head but Stream face want pale yelling that's the house cress of the swan royal family it is they who rule the dukedom we are heading to my head tanking to the bandit blocking the road he glared at the man who sat on the carts blocking the road yelling move it you're blocking the path of the swan royal family the man chuckled shaking his head saying naa I don't think I will cuz you see sir and he jumped off the cart smiling at the knight you haven't paid the toll to travel on my road so pay up and we will let you leave simply as that the knight gritted his teeth asking how much the bandit stroked his patchy wild beard for a few moments before smiling again 300 gold the knight yelled you bastard give a reasonable price the bandit shrugged saying 300 gold or no getting pass your choice the knight gritted his teeth before reaching into his one of his saddle and through a bag of gold in front of the man gralling that's all we have take it and let us pass the bandit slowly picked up the bag that jingled with the sound of coins hitting together the bandit shook his hand saying there's only about 100 gold in hear I asked for 300 do you think I am stupid or something the knight snarled saying that's all your getting plus that's all we got so let us pass the bandit side shaking his head and put away the back on his belt before looking up at the knight smiling no I asked you nicely to pay but it would seem we got to so things the hard way and he snapped his fingers simply saying two words kill them like that the bandits in the trenches shot out of them and ran towards the carriage the head knight pulled out his sword yelling defend the royal family and he blocked a strike from someone in front of him but that's when 2 arrows shot forward one simple bounced off his plays armor but the other sank into his arm pit the man yelled in pain the bandits used this chance to pull him off his horse and that head bandit walked forward and put his foot on the knights chest pointing his crossbow at the knights head grinning you should have just paid and know you die the knight glared up at the man yelling do your worse your nothing but scum the bandit side that isn't very nice die you human scum soon the demons will rule over this land it will be glorious the moment he said that his eyes changed from that of a humans to firey red like brimstone and half if his face turned red and sprouted a black horn the knight started fearfully at the bandit saying your one of them a demon supporter the bandit laughed that's right I wanted power and they gave it to us dont worry your bodies will be put to good us and he licked his lips which showed off half if his teeth was fangs wall the other was human you will taste so good he so be a good little piggy and die and he want to pull the crossbow trigger but right then something slammed into his chest the force of this thing launched him back slamming into the carts this is when the knight heard a powerful hissing voice yell Demonic legion kill them and running next to the knight was a two legged red scaled beast on its back was red snake man who had on Greek style armor this figure swung one of the curved swords in his hands cleaning slicing the head off one of the bandits that was holding the knight down and when he swung the other he literally cut a bandit in half blood covered the knight and the figure this is when the snake man looked down to the knight and the knight want pale seeing his bloody face and glowing purple serpent eyes fear clutched his heart I chuckled down at this knight that was shaking just at the sight of me but I didn't care I blocked a strike from a bandit that ran and swung an axe towards Artemis my head slowly turning to that bandit the moment my eyes fell on him the bandit jumped back out of fear but that was a very bad move he jumped right in front of Artemis who quickly ripped and tared him apart I smiled speaking to the knight my man and I will kill these demon supporters I also have my tribes healer looking after your wounded but you lost one my people are wrapping hid body for transport so just stay back and watch the show with that Artemis lunged at these bandits walking next to the knight was Duke who chuckled lunging into the fun saying master wait up I want to play also Wolf, wolf and like that Daisy bounded passed the knight abd happily jumped into the fight after a minute Shosa cleaved the last one in half so skillfully not a drop of blood got on the flag he was flying him and I walked to the carts where the head bandit was pinned to a cart by my bident the man looked up at us coughing up dark purple and red blood who the fuck are you two he gralled I grinned whipping my blades on his armor before sheathing them on my back before saying we are the demonic legion the man scoffed you don't know what a true demon is I laughed o we definitely do and we devoured then tell me boy you said you was going to eat that knight and his people right he nodded of course and I will eat you to I laughed shaking my head saying o no, no you definitely won't cuz you see boy it isn't I who is food o no its you and your man and boy will you taste good and I licked my lips right then is when I seen fear spread across his face as he yelled no we are the one who eats no we are the ones who but right then I pulled off his arm and through it to Shosa who cot it before taking a bite from it but he spat to the side saying tastes disgusting hi can you cook it for me mate I chuckled and snapped my fingers as a green fire appeared in front of him he smiled thanks and started cooking his mans arm no, no that's mine give it back no don't I am the one but I put a eyes really he asked I nodded but of course just tell me where the demons located and I will let you live the man nodded quickly saying they came out and took over a old abanded kingdom deep in the woods most people know this kingdom by the name the fallen sun kingdom legends say that the kingdom ones ruled over this forest and all that was in it but one day the court mage failed in making one a spell and he become a powerful demon fueled by hunger and bloodless he slottered everyone in the kingdom before locking him self in the castle where they say he still Roms to this day but they ant chuckled and took off my helmet and put it on my saddle as I walked passed Artemis I crouched down next to the head knight and the elder who was trying to heal one of the guards sadly the elder was only a medic and herbalist she wasnt a magical healer the head knight was holding the hand of this guard saying hold on brother hold on stay with me stay with me I looked down to the guard and seen he had a huge cut that want down his chest but if that wasn't bad enough I seen 2 broken arrows shafts right above the mans heart this guard was no older then 18 unlike the head knight and the bandits I glanced to the other guards and noticed they were young also I side and looked to the elder who looked up to me and shook her head saying there isn't anything I can do for this man but give him a swift death what no the knight said looking up at her you can't keep trying to heal him he might pull through I thought about it for a moment and nodded elder patch of the mans words you, you and I pointed to two if my tribesman bring me hot water Shosa grab the bundle that is in my right saddle bag bring it to move now they all nodded and rushed to get the things I needed I looked to the elder saying elder do you have green rute, and gator skin and yellow flower she nodded yes I do I nodded mix them into a bull smash them together and ones there powereder add a touch of water then spread it on the leave bandages she nodded and got to work with that I looked to the head knight saying give me a clean cloth or something to stop the bleeding he nodded and ran to his horse and pulled out old school cloth bandages and rushed back to me I nodded placing his hand on the cut going across the guards chest saying keep pressure on it he nodded Shosa ran to me with a leather bundle I took it from him and unrolled it out on the ground and there was medical tools I started pulling out a few different tools that's when the boll of boiling water was placed next to me I dropped my tools into it the night was confused asking what are you doing I side pulling off my gloves and bracers I handed them to Shosa before rolling my chain mail sleeves up as I spoke cleansing my tools you should always clean your equipment before using them especially medical tools unless you want the wound to get infected I washed my hands in the hot water before picking up my tools saying change the water they did so and like this I slotted a long set of pliers onto the arrowhead then slotted the long screw into the center of the pliers and started to tighten the screw till the pliers was tight in the arrowhead and slowly I pulled the pliers up and like that one crossbow head was withdraw luckily these colt heads wasnt barb of boy this kid would be fucked I dropped the colt head onto the ground before washing my tolls before doing the same thing to the next colt head that's when I dropped that tool and picked up a sharp looking needle I tighted the wet string on this needle I looked to the elder asking for a bit of that dust before she added the water she handed it to me and I put it in both the wounds before stitching them up next was the huge cute which I also put some powder into it before stitching it up luckily the kid had already passed out from the pain I dropped my needle into the hot water and looked to the elder saying bandage his wounds she nodded tied two huge leaves onto his covering both wounds I side washing my hands saying we have done all we can for him its up to him now the head knight nodded thank you all of you I washed the blood from my face before cleaning all of my tools in very hot clean water do not thank us just yet sir we are still quite far from the white swan dukedom and your horses can't keep up with us and you have 3 wounded and only one carriage or maybe and I walked over to the carts that the bandits was using to block the road I smiled noticing one still both its wheels I nodded layout a tarp in this cart and hook up the wounded mans horses to it the rest of you clear the road and loot the bandits of anything they have and through there bodies to the side yes sir! And they followed my orders the two of the other injured man was helped into this cart wall the man I just worked on we layed in the cart there horses was attached to its wall the bandit's loot was also placed into the cart I walked to the bandit leaders body and picked up his crossbow and bolts plus I grabbed his pack that I found 5 bags that jingled when I moved them I picked up the biggest bag and through it to the knight saying I think this is yours mate he cot it smiling I thank you good sir but if I may ask just who are you people and y is princess Stream and prince Gimli with you I smiled as I rolled down my chainmail sleeves and pulled on my gloves and bracers before saying my name is AzmoNekros but most people just call me Azmo I am the leader of the demonic legion as for y we have the prince and princess plus there man is simple my tribe saved them from the demons but Gimli and I are old friends the knights eyes want wide asking your the monster who leads the tribe in the wild woods that explains it o sorry where are my manners and he slammed a hand to his chest yelling my name is sir Brancen Assshole the 5 I about broke out laughing hearing his last name and I looked this in the throat of the man who cut him down he fought honorably and died a glorious death I nodded a true warrior lets do it together then big guy he nodded and at the same time we walked next to the man both of are hands was outstretched the the broken blade resting in are hands and slowly we lowered the blade I used my shadow control to unwrap just guards chest and hands and together Shosa and I placed the broken blade in the center of his chest Shose took his left hand and I took the right we wrapped his hands on the handle before the shadows rewraping the body with the broken blade slowly Shosa and I picked up this body and slowly brought him to the cart and placed his body down I then turned to the carriage saying you two might as well come out I can sense you both I heard a female sy and the door opened and stepping out was a 18 to 19 year old girl she had on white and red long skirt and long-sleeved shirt with long thick black boots on her hip was a fancy decorated silver rapier that had a swan image on the guard over her chest was a breastplate and her long white hair want passed her shoulders her skin was white with cold blue eyes behind her came a older maid she had on the normal maid black and white dress and shirt her skin was white also and her brown hair was pulled into a tight bun that had an iron hair spike growing through it but those cold Brown eyes told me all I needed to know plus how her hands were placed in front of her I could sense all of those women hidden weapons and boy did she have a lot of them currently she was grasping a string that was attacked to a hidden pistol touched under her white apron I chuckled and shadow walked in front of this woman I looked her over before nodding you my good lass scare me but whats this and I noticed her what was ones long pointed ears but now they was cut off or at least half of her ears was I shook my head did you get your revenge the womands cold expression faltered for a moment but she nodded I nodded good then they are being punished for what they have done good on you lass and I walked in front of the teenage she was glaring at me and in a arrogant voice she spoke don't you know its only good manners to great royalty first especially when you asked me out I chuckled wagging a finger in front of her face saying you little girl have no right to talk sense your speaking to me in such a arrogant voice and you look at those who just saved you with discussed I greated your maid cuz unlike you girl she has had a very hard life and not only did she survive but she thrived not only has she earned my respect but she deserves it way more then you the little girl glared at me her hand moving it her hilt of her sword the moment she did that the sword of many weapons being unsheathed unsheathed his sword I nodded and pulled my sword sheathing it before saying little girl you maybe skilled in your knights academy or what ever but you lack real combat experience unlike me I have fought in 3 wars and thousands of battle I have lead armys and fought on the front lines every battle I was in so your outmatched in both skill and experience but and I leaned forward and unsheathed her sword I looked over the long silver blade that had runes going down it I nodded seeing how shiny and sharp the edge was I through the blade into the air catching it by he blade and held it out to her saying a good sharp blade I can tell you take much pride in maintaining your equipment that's good a purely maintained weapon will fail you when you most needs it ones more a blade reflects its wielder if you see a dirty rusty blade that mans the person hasn't maintained it so he is probably a novice fight if you see a blade dripping with blood and they dont clean it after the fight then that person enjoys the blood they will be swept io in there bloodlust they will fight wildly but if you see blade that gets cleaned after a fight and the edge still shines after the blood is whipe off it run that means the person is skilled and knows the value of a well maintain weapon but you first got to dirty the blade before you can tell each you are the girl nodded and took the blade and nodded and got off the raptor she was riding and walked into the carriage along with the maid and Echo I seem the knight tigh his horse onto the back of the carriage before getting into the drivers seat he pulled the reins saying shall we and he looked to me I simply nodded and like that we started moving again all though it was definitely a lot slower then before but we was close enough to the dukedom it didn't matter to me.
