Chapter 23 - Chapter: 23 the wendigo

We got passed the border a day ago currently we was resting letting the horses drink some water wall we ate some food Layla next to me I smiled at her as I ripped off a piece of jerky that's when I heard a stick brake I shot up to my feet drawing my colt and my dagger Layla also jumped to her feet holding her shotgun we want back to back as we scanned all around but I didn't hear any movement so I used my valuable dictation and felt a group of 10 all hiddidng around us host of them had bows but 2 of them had rifles but each of them had a hand axe I smiled saying might as well come out I know your there and to prove my point I looked up into the three looking right at one of the man with rifles his eyes want wide and nodded he claimed down the tree and walked in front of me he held out his rifle and then slung it over his shoulder I nodded and put away my weapons saying my name is Hunter Nekros whats yours friend the man nodded to me they call me Bear y have you come onto are land I smiled and took off my shirt and showed him the tattoo that the wendigo gave me saying I came here to see a friend the when the man seen that his eyes want wide saying how do you have its mark please forgive us brother we will leave you be and like that they ran away I laughed to myself saying it's almost like there scared I said with amusement Layla laughed with me well its not everyday that a person is branded by a fucking wendigo I smiled as I put my shirt back on not saying a word we mounted up and got on the trail again days quickly passed and days turned into weeks with Layla and I just riding eating and sleeping, to be honest, I was getting bored since nothing fun has happened since we met Bear and his group hell I didn't even sense anyone following us which was strange hell we didn't even run into any monsters out here it was a Wednesday about 2 pm we just got to the furniture wood lines but unlike when we seen it in the future there was no road no path no nothing the best thing that I seen was a path was a few deer paths these woods was very thick but that really didn't slow us down much sense Fives was leading they cleared a path for the horses easily and by the time 4 hit we was deep in the woods and we didn't plan on stopping till dark and that's what we did we want deeper till it was getting dark so we cleared an area to make camp as we worked I had the feeling like I was being watched but it was nothing new sense the second I stepped into these woods I felt a set of eyes on me it was odd I wasn't getting a threatening feeling from what ever it was but It was definitely not friendly either it was almost like it was talrating are presents but we will see what the night leads I sat down pulling out my notebook and started writing about all the weapons I have made next to these words I draw an image of the item and after that, I tried to figure out what was missing from my notes but it was hard to figure out what was missing sense I haven't started testing my ideas in actual building its hard to figure out something that you have only the most basic idea what it does but I put my pin down when I cot a odd damp smell I looked around but didn't see anything I activated my valuable detection and I picked up some rare and valuable plants over me plus the skull of a monster I smiled leaning against the tree that was behind me as I looked up saying you know it's not polite to stare right that's I heard laughter is that so boy that's when my eyes landed on a tree lim that want right over us standing on this lim was a tall being at least 8 foot tall they had on a wolf's pelt and leathers from many animals around there neck was fear there hands was long and extended out into thin sharp claws there head was that of a deers skull but this skull had runes and sigil's drawn and carved all over it and it had two sets of horns that curved back like a goats in its eye sockets was a light purple fire that stared at me thats when she spoke it has been awhile since I have had guests but she licked her lips after she said that last part I chuckled my smile not fading you could you surely could but I have a feeling you will regret it in the end she scoffed don't flatter your self have blood you both maybe powerful but not even the gods step into my woods without my say so what makes you think two young half bloods with be able to stop me no better question is y shouldn't I eat you both I smiled standing up as I unbuttoning my shirt the next second my shirt hit the ground and this wendigo stared at my brands intrigue and curiosity written all over her face she dropped down from the tree and landed in front of me she I think this wendigo was female she looked over all over my brands that's when her eyes fell onto my four arms she stared at that brand intensely she quickly grabbed my hand so fast that I didn't have time to react she ran her hand over the brand the last wendigo left me as she ran her hand over it the brand started to glow in that same green light but this time it wasn't as bright as when I got it where did you get this she asked in a quiet voice I smiled shrugging Its a long story but the short version is I did a favor for a wendigo and as my reward they allowed me to pass through their woods and they gave me this she looked up into my eyes I could tell she was trying to tell if I was laying but after a while of her staring into my eyes she side and let my hand go it would seem you child are either extremely lucky or foolish for one of my blood to gift you this this could pant a target on your back from my enemies who are godly being and creatures more powerful then you could ever imagine I smiled and picked up my shirt saying I do not care just my existence has pissed off many powerful gods and I know she and I pointed to Layla who was simple watching this hole conversation sitting on the side with her shotgun in her hands has killed some powerful creatures besides during the war we got killed plenty of strong beings she side shaking her head whatever you say half blood well let us talk about y you two have come into my woods and like that she walked next to the fire and sat down in a lotis position I nodded and sat back down leaning against the tree I looked to Layla nodding Layla smiled well you see we just got done participating in a war and wanted a place to lay low and rest we have been fighting every day for 2 long years and we want to rest in a place for a bit in peace at least for a bit the Wendigo nodded ok but y did you come here dont you half-bloods have a camp or something to go to that is safe I side nodding indeed we do but sadly at the moment we don't want to show are faces in the camp some problems might arise if we do she looked at me and cocked her head to the side like she was confused I side that's a longer story but all I am willing to say is we don't belong in this timeline she nodded ok that's fine and promptly wise time is a tricky thing I nodded as for y we are hear is simple we was hoping and was going to ask you if we could make a home in your woods I know not many creatures interns your land without dying so it would be a perfect area to rest for a bit she looked at me then at Layla and slowly asked you want to make a home in the woods of a monster Layla and I both nodded and the fact that your both half bloods especially you lad I can smell the power coming off of you it's very tempting to eat you but fact I am a flesh-eating monster doesn't bother either of you Layla and I shook our heads smiling still she shook her head saying your both fucking mental but I like it y, not I will allow you to build a home in my woods I will show you a good area tomorrow but till then good night and like that she stood up and walked off into the darkness I looked across the fire to Layla who was shaking with anticipation and happiness I chuckled well it would seem we made one hell of a gamble and it paid off she nodded indeed dear we probably get some sleep its going to be a early morning tomorrow I nodded and like that we snugged close with each other sleeping all though I was sleeping with one eye open sense I didn't fully trust this monster nor did Layla but the night quickly passed and the morning came we woke up ate some breakfast and packed up our camp we ended just in time to see the wendigo walking from behind a tree it stopped and moved one of its claws in a follow me movement we nodded and followed her leading the horses behind us the wendigo moved with long quick strides but we was keeping up easily we walked deeper and deeper into these woods till the sun was shining down on me that's when I heard water moving ahead of us and like that there was a clearing in the trees we walked into this circular clearing the wendigo walked to the center of this clearing and turned around to us seeing area reaction the first thing I noticed in this clearing was the old run down hunters shack the next thing I noticed was the streem that ran behind it I was a little shocked seeing the shack sure it needed a lot of work I could tell it hadn't been used in a very long time but no matter so what do you think I smiled at that question and looked to Layla who nodded at me smiling I looked to the wendigo smiling its perfect thank you she laughed no need half blood I said I would let you stay in my woods so stay you shall its as simple as that I nodded still thank you she nodded waving her hand saying with that I will leave you alone to rest in peace and with that she walked into the woods not looking back I looked to Layla again asking what do you think dear shall we get started on a home she nodded yes lets. A distance away watching this couple get started on fixing there New Home as she rested on a tree was the wendigo she was really happy seeing the two smile but then she looked down to her stomach and rubbed it so it would seem you live a good long life my child I wonder y you have him that mark though he is a demigod and we are monsters there isn't many trails where monster and demigod live peacefully all though that will never happen and they know it there will always be the few who won't like your actions and try and kill you for it in this world only the strong are claimed as heroes wall the defeated are known as the villains they know that better then anyone seeing who there parents are but I have the oddest feeling neither of these two have that hero feeling not like the mighty Hercules who greatest enemy was himself and the gods they ant as skilled as the deadly Achilles who a got feeled by a arrow no they remind me of those who are called villains and monsters the boy reminds me of oda nobunaga the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven himself he has those sharp eyes on top of that he has the love for making weapons but at the end of the day this boy hasn't fully matured into the demon he could be all though this war seems to have helped him onto the right path and the girl she is a daughter of the war God Ares and yet she has the mind of a daughter of Athena she is smart and she is more skilled then the boy but she looks to half more practice and training then the boy which is interesting but the boy has better control over his abilities unlike the girl she is good but needs lots of work I wonder if I should help them grow by letting some monsters slip by to help train them mmmmm y not heheheheh if they die its on them.
