Swalha has been bugging Kind for days concerning any developments in his relationship with Wale but he had been reluctant to say anything, yet here they were at Yummy Yum restaurant for gossip. "Wale is pure evil that's all I can say," He concluded as he slurped his milkshake. He had known Swalha would not be satisfied with just a few words but he didn't want to divulge more information, considering how unsure he felt about Wale's feelings towards him. "That can't be all, for sure I'm convinced a lot of things happen when you guys practically eloped away, leaving the rest of us dejected. Additionally, Wale is single now so how will you handle the situation my dear K?" Swalha said, mimicking the pet name Wale had given him.
"You are just as bad as Wale! I had to hide for days because of all the hickeys he gave me not to mention my poor back...I mean...it was more like he was attacking me every chance he got...and I liked it a lot." Kind couldn't help but cover his face in embarrassment. He was so happy to finally share with someone else how happy he is. "It was so much better than in my fantasies Swalha, you have no idea!" He added excitedly. "Of course the real thing is always be exciting, so tell me, how was it topping him? Did he cry...or did you?"
"What the...nothing really passes you by, you and Cherry are one and the same except you are so shameless in your questions." Sighing aloud, he held his chin and said " It's hard to top him. Wale is like a kid who just discovered ice cream he kept asking for it, in my sleep in the shower in the kitchen, he was everywhere. That sneaky bastard! My back still hurts because of him and everywhere else, I haven't been to the gym for more than a week!" Kind complained, reaching for his back again.
'No wonder your walking style has changed," Swalha laughed wholeheartedly. She was enjoying this and had missed Kind a lot more than she'd thought. "You were a spectacle when you walked here, I thought you got injured." After taking a sip of her vanilla milkshake, she was curious to know the future of Kind's relationship with Todo. "In as much as I'm happy for you I still feel bad for Todo. Another broken heart walking the streets Kind, and it has your name written on it."
"Way to ruin my moment. I've always been honest in my past relationship from the start, and even though I admit I forcefully tried to move on and forget Wale, I just couldn't let him go and Wale made sure to make it impossible for me." He replied, shrugging his shoulder. "Well you two have always been inseparable K," Swalha added.
"Even so, it is not like we are officially dating, I'm afraid Wale may still be confused of his sexual orientation so I advised him to take time and think things through. Remember the guy I dated who was married, I don't think I can live to experience that again especially if it is coming from Wale. There is also Cherry involved and the baby. Soon, Wale will be a father and Cherry will always be part of his life." Kind's face grew slightly grim and Swalha didn't miss his fluctuating tone at the mention of Cherry. "It's too late to worry about that. He officially crossed over when he passionately attacked you as you have put it."
"Even so, there are many good women out here besides Cherry, like you. I'd die after experiencing such happiness only to have it taken from me by someone new. If he meets someone else who won't betray him as Cherry did, someone with good intentions like you, I won't be happy to cheer for him, but I'll support him and respectfully keep my distance."
"Why do you keep self sabotaging yourself you fool? Haven't you already always done that?" Swalha was feeling anger building inside her towards Kind. "This is what you wanted, and now the truth is finally out, Todo is also doing his best to cheer for your happiness so will you two just date? It's been already more than a decade Kind, do you enjoy suffering?"
After a long silence, Kind stated "Cherry said Wale had always wanted to have children and I can't give him that obviously..." Swalha jumped in to answer immediately. "Well he now has one cooking right? Besides, you two can always adopt as a couple and I'll vouch for you. As a psychologist, anyone would believe me if I acknowledge that you two will make great parents!"
Swalha was right. What is he afraid of anyway? Even if he was to date someone else, Wale was bound to ruin it for him so there was no getting rid of Wale. He was always going to be there so it was better to date him for he'd be happy, they'd both be happy, he loved Wale and he wanted to believe the feelings Wale felt were equal to his. "Swalha, I'm afraid of being hurt. At least I know how it feels for Wale to date someone else but if he were to break my heart...." Kind couldn't finish his sentence. He didn't want to imagine that ever coming to pass.
"You're right, that will hurt really bad, yet you two would rather watch the person you love be with someone else than be together. What are you both afraid of? Just be together already! I don't know if you're blind Kind but Wale is like a puppy and you his master. He is going to follow you everywhere and do anything you say. He has been doing that all these years. I'm sure he started dating Cherry after you told him to, and decided to marry her because you said so. But whenever it comes to you, he is tenacious. He gets very jealous when you devoid him of attention, or when you start paying too much attention to someone else instead of him. It will always be a competition with him whenever it comes to you so cut us some slack and chain your puppy. It's exhausting leaving him running around free biting everyone that dare mention your name!"
Kind laughed wholeheartedly. It was always nice to hang around Swalha. She was right though. The entire relationship between Cherry and Wale, he'd be the one fixing broken things by giving ideas, molding the two. It's like he was the puppeteer and the two were his puppets. If he was going to chain his puppy as Swalha had put it, then he should at least use his own chain and not someone else's. "So where is Cherry now?
"Well, now that we all know the truth concerning her sister's involvement in Wale's affairs, she decided to stay with her parents though I'm convinced Todo is watching her every move. I'm not sure if she is sorry though, about her sister actions against Wale since she seemed vindictive of you two. Being pregnant and all, she needs proper care otherwise she will miscarry again."
Kind was surprised at Swalha's last statement. "You knew about that?" He immediately asked. "Of course! I know everything! I'm like the only sane person amongst all four of us and I take pride in that." Kind added mischievously "A pervert too!" Laughing, Swalha replied, "Takes one to know one!" Sighing, Kind gave up. "You just had to go there, didn't you?"
"Of course K. Or should I say Bunny?"
"Wow, so Wale opened his big mouth?" Slurping his milkshake, Kind felt relieved to have not turned away Swalha today. They spoke for hours until Kind finally escorted her to her place. She offered for him to sleep over but he refused. He needed to return back to Todo's place. Tonight, Wale was going to join them and discuss their findings concerning his case and the way foreward.
While in the taxi, he thought a lot about the truth bombs Swalha kept throwing to him and in as much as she was right, the decision was his after all. He needed Wale just as much as Wale needed him. Maybe after all this was over, the'd finally be able to be together again in peace. Closing his eyes, he couldn't wait to see Wale. A week had already passed and he looked foreword to meet him again. He was lost in thought for a while until the taxi driver informed him they had reached their destination. They? Kind wonder to himself but didn't think much of it until he looked outside. This place was not Todo's! "This is the wrong location, where did you take me?" He demanded.
Suddenly someone from outside opened the door and told him to get off. It was a woman's voice and as he stepped out, there was no mistaking it. The woman looked like Cherry. "Who are you?" He asked, completely confused by what was happening.
"That is not important, but I'm sure you understand why I'm doing this. You hurt my sister, so consider this my revenge."
