It was midnight on the hour when Kind had left Todo's mansion. He felt exhausted thinking how his sleeping pattern had been altered the past couple of months. The last three months had had him feeling liberated. They had travelled to Maldives, Zanzibar, Krabi, Cebu and many more tropical islands with Todo. It was a surprise, Todo was willing to go on this venture with him out of the blue, insisting that they needed to make memories. Todo had his way always, insisting they spend time in the best of hotels but at least he got to choose where to explore. Kind loved mingling with the locals. Luckily, Todo had a lot of traveling experiences so he fit in wherever he went and Kind liked that about him.
Kind didn't mind doing Todo's bidding. He had wanted to get away and enjoy himself, the change of environment lifted his spirits to newer heights. For a long time, he had abandoned thoughts of his unrequited love and actually focused on having a good time. He had been right to accept bringing Todo with him. He also took the time they spent together to learn more about his boyfriend. Todo was not a picky eater, his face would light up whenever he bought something new. Todo had a sweet tooth and was extremely shy to complements. He wasn't afraid of what others thought of him whenever they walked together in public for he loved holding hands. Todo loved cuddling, he'd get cold at night and scoot over to his side of the bed almost making him fall over. Kind often wondered why he was so similar to Wale but had to brush off any thoughts of his best friend whom he desperately wanted to forget.
Todo however had his dark side too. He liked having his way all the time, was extremely extravagant and wouldn't hold back at showing off. He'd be very clingy at times but that was bearable, however, Todo would get extremely jealous whenever others complemented him.
From their conversation, Todo wanted Kind to move in with him claiming he'd protect him from Wale. What a joke that was, as if it had stopped Wale before. Todo then made an offer he couldn't refuse. He asked to move in with him. How could he have said no? Even though they had dated about six months now, Kind wanted to show he was making effort to patch things up, besides, Wale needed to know he was serious this time. There was no more running away; Swalha had been right. He wanted to end it sooner rather than later.
Still, he couldn't help but fantasize after Cherry's assumptions. It would have been wonderful, he might have died of happiness if that had been true. Wale, in love with him? That'd be the day. Sheeps may even fall from the skies...forget sheeps, unicorns! He thought to himself and started laughing.
Kind had not returned to his place since he left three months ago. He wanted to clean up before Todo moved in, or maybe Todo might change his mind considering how small his apartment was. Opening the door , he stepped inside his safe place, a place he could be himself and think aloud without fear of being discovered. It surprised him how clean his place was, not even a speck of dust. He remembered leaving a messy apartment, he'd planned his trip last minute and was terrible at packing that he almost missed his flight. Swalha and Cherry were the only ones with his spare keys...he needed to change that with Todo moving in and what not. It had to be Swalha since she was the only one who didn't secretly hate him.
"What a relief, I should have just brought Todo over." Letting out a loud sigh, he closed his eyes in surrender, he felt completely exhausted. Reaching for the back of his neck, he remembered Todo's sudden change in mood. Even at the dinner table, he had been quieter than normal. It was only when he had wanted to go home that Todo had made the bold suggestion, willing to pack and leave with him. "That was cute," he said out aloud. "Maybe I should go back."
"Go back where?" a female voice spoke behind him. There was no mistaking whom it belonged to. He was startled, his heart in his mouth, he still managed to ask, "What are you doing here Cherry?"
"I came knowing this is your next stop...unfortunately, so did Wale." Seeing Kind's shocked face she continued. "He left after cleaning up the mess here so don't worry, I hardly touched your things plus you're very careful with your secret stash, even Wale couldn't find it." Walking from behind the couch to face him, she proceeded, "Wale and I spoke a lot as we waited for you to come home. He denied his feelings for you vehemently so maybe Swalha was right, maybe I'm mistaken but I want us to make a deal Kind." She sat down next to him. "Please, let me be the one to tell Wale what I did. I know you won't say a word, but I had to make this request."
Kind's expression suddenly changed. He felt suffocated, he had decided he was done doing Cherry's bidding, she always had some request for him and Wale had always been a part of it. Standing up, he walked to his door and opened it, "I'll inform security to grab you the nearest taxi to wherever you'd like to go so kindly, get home safe"
"You're actually kicking me out?" Cherry exclaimed. She had never seen this side of him. "We both are keeping secrets from Wale, you'll be in as much inconvenience if your secret got out too, don't you get it?"
"When you tell him yours, you can tell him mine too. I'm done with you two."
