"Wale, let's grab a bite, I'm hungry."
Swirling his chair, Wale gave his best friend a long stare, something he often did that annoyed Kind.
"What are you doing staring at me like that? Your undernourishment is your responsibility so you shouldn't have skipped breakfast and lunch waiting for me and have me listen to your nagging all day. I'm doing intermittent fasting, I've told you that multiple times."
Maintaining his stare, Wale seemed unmoved for his mind on other things. He'd expected Kind to at least hint a thing or two about his feelings for him but Kind religiously kept his mouth shut, his actions not giving away any clues.
"Hey! Kind!" Wale stood up abruptly from his office chair and grabbed his best friend's hand just as he'd grunted and turned to leave. 'Why won't you talk to me K? How long are you intending on hiding your true feelings?'
"What do you want? You're annoying..."
Smiling, Wale cut in. "You've got quite a temper K, I had thought I was the grumpy one."
"Do you have to say that while holding my hand dummy?"
"I'm just holding one hand, I could hold both if you want K," Wale replied cunningly, moving closer as Kind took a step back and pulled his hand free.
"Flirt with your girlfriend not me."
"Kind wait!" Wade was beginning to feel anxious. He had thought they could at least have a chat after work before going for dinner. 'Was I mistaken?' He wondered. "Don't you want to tell me something? Talk to me K."
The sudden change of tone surprised Kind all of a sudden. He wanted to ask his best friend what had him looking sullen like that however, he had to remind himself why he'd been avoiding him all this while in the first place. It was better this way so as not cause any problems. He didn't want to come between his best friend and his girlfriend. "You are still as annoying as ever. I'm leaving."
The slamming of the door left Wale with questions. It was a relief they were the only two left in the open office otherwise it would have been unbecoming of him having someone witness his desperate need to win his friend's affections.
"Perhaps I was mistaken... I might be the one who doesn't have the courage to tell him I already know the truth."
