Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Lecture Ends

Mark felt speechless by this interaction with David but tried to remain calm and professional about the situation.

Mark - "In that case, have a seat."

David - "Why?"

Mark - "That additional two hundred increase your manga ranking from third to first, so for now, wait your turn."

Mark then stopped the sharing and corrected the table rankings.

Meanwhile, David, who was suffering from success, shut his mouth and sat back in his seat before he further aggravated professor Mark.

Mark - "After that change, we now have Infinity at the third position with 6,100 collections by Oscar."

A young man with red hair stood up. He had a muscular build, was wearing a slim black t-shirt that pressed tightly on his abs, and was rather handsome.

It felt like he was the main character of one of those shonen actions mangas.

Oscar - "Hi, my name is Oscar, and I am the creator of Infinity.

Mark - "Hello there, Oscar, so what is your manga about? The title doesn't necessarily give away much."

Oscar - " My manga focuses on an mc who wakes up and finds himself in a world filled with humans and monsters."

"The humans in this world are not ordinary but have powers due to nuclear radiation."

Mark - "Interesting."

Oscar - "As you can guess by that statement, the main setting is in a post-apocalyptic world, and the humans in this kind of world aren't any kinder than monsters."

Mark - "I see so a one-man against the world type setting."

Oscar - "Yes."

Mark - "And how does this correlate to the title infinity?"

Oscar - "You see, the mc did not transmigrate, so he kept his original body which led to him being powerless, or so he thought at first."

"However, after dying in a life-and-death situation, he found that he was immortal and was back again at the same spot he had woken up."

Mark - "Oh my, that's a very impressive concept. I will surely give your manga a read."

Oscar - "Thank you, sir."

Mark - "The only question on my mind now is if only getting reborn is his power or is it more special cause that is what this manga lacks."

Oscar - "No, he gets to keep all his physical fitness attributes every time he dies."

Mark - "Physical fitness attributes?"

Oscar - "Oh, I forgot to mention, as this is a futuristic world, these watches monitor your physical attributes."

Mark - "I see. In that case, be careful when writing these as power scale balancing can be very hard."

Oscar - "Yes, sit. I will be careful."

Mark - "Also, if you are going the physical and superpower route, make it so there isn't a limit to how much the mc can improve while others have a ceiling to their powers."

Oscar - "I see it would make sense if the mc didn't have a limit to his physical improvement."

Mark - "No, actually, I just had an even better idea. Make it so the mc does have a limit, but it resets every time he dies, and he can increase that exact certain amount each time."

Oscar - "That is brilliant, thank you. I will one hundred percent use your advice."

Mark - "Alright then, let's move on to manga, currently sitting at number two in the rankings, The prison of delusions, with six thousand one hundred and eighty collections (6.18k) by Noah."

A young man in a green shirt with weird patterns stood up. His face was the definition of handsome. He had long hair, which was colored purple, and had a very in-shape body.

Noah - "Hi, my name is Noah Hunt. I am the creator of the prison of delusions."

Mark - "Noah, that title sound very intriguing. Tell us more about your manga."

Noah - "The genre I categorize my work by is mystery, thriller, sci-fi, and horror. It follows a male main character who doesn't remember why he is in prison."

Mark - "I see. So it is a prison exploration manga?"

Noah - "Kind of, but the prison doesn't host only humans but also aliens, monsters, and all kinds of horrors."

Mark - "I see, so that's where the sci-fi and horror element comes in. It does sound like a fascinating concept to explore an alien world while starting in prison."

Noah - "Yes, and as for the future, I have various plans such as encountering the warden, planning prison escapes and failing, and getting sent to a landmine to work."

Mark - "It is still unclear to me. Can you explain how he will learn about the world from prison?"

Noah - "For example, let's say he starts digging a hole and ends up in an underground base of a previous escapist who failed and learns more about world background."

Mark - "Okay, got it. By the way, what is your world background."

Noah - "Alien invasion in a futuristic world where humanity has lost and become enslaved by alien overlords."

Mark - "Ah, okay, got it, another space manga."

Noah - "Well, it takes place on earth to start with."

Mark - "Still, that being number three out of the last four, then again, I guess space is a popular genre as you get an open world to play around with and do what you want."

Mark - "Okay, then moving onto number one, shadow realm by David, for which I have high expectations, may I say."

David got back up upon being called out and started speaking, "So you already know me, so I will skip that part. My manga's primary focus is on a newly discovered dimension known as the shadow realm."

"So mankind tries to explore this new dimension through a space crack that can be artificially created with machines."

"The issue is that humans end up letting out shadow creatures in the haste of exploration for new resources."

"Shadow creatures are scary-looking beasts that can turn invisible to most."

"They can also transform into other humans via shapeshifting; most importantly, they eat every other lifeform, which, as you may have guessed, includes humans."

Mark - "oh my, that was not a letdown in the slightest. It sounds like a marvelous concept."

David, taken back by this sudden remark by Mark, barely managed to squeeze out a thank you.

Mark - "By the way, where is this taking place on earth, or is there a specific area they can create cracks?"

David - "This is taking place in a massive space city outside the earth."

Mark - "A space city, huh? I see someone has quite confidence in their art style. No wonder you dared to publish on the shonen jump."

David - "Well, sir, I published on the jump because I like challenges."

Mark - "It is good to be confident but never be overconfident."

David, in his head to himself, said, "I had no confidence in my drawing."

"Which is why I chose this complex drawing background. Why has this turned into a don't be an overconfident thing?"

Mark - "So, what are your plans for the future?"

David - "Well, I don't have any right now. I plan on showing the chaos for the early stage and try to mystify the whole thing."

"As this manga is a horror/thriller. By the way, any suggestions, sir?"

Mark - "Unfortunately, I am not an expert in drawing horror. Also, time is running out. I think we will end this lecture there."

"All of you have a good weekend."

Like this, a long lecture came to an end.
